I hope he gets a ton of play time this season. Maxi is great but he’s a 4 forced to play 5 and Powell is Powell, an average regular season center but falls flat in the playoffs. I’ve always said once Luka gets a true 7 Fter not named JaVale McGee they’d ball out.

The Spurs were killing y’all until late in the third. It took the Spurs kinda falling apart offensively for the Mavs to pull ahead. Frankly, as a Spurs fan, I was not impressed.

It's probably a little bit of both, but look at how the mavs played defense in the first half vs the second. The mavs played better as the game went on. If you haven't watched the mavs, you don't know how big a deal that is. The mavs haven't really been a good crunch time team. Luka usually comes out guns blazing and scores 15-20 in the first quarter and then slowly builds up to his usual 30 over the next 3. But he was actually giving effort on defense and pushing pace late in the game and that's not something that's happened very often in the past, especially the defense part. If the mavs played the first half the way they played the 2nd, Spurs are probably kept to around 105 points and it's a near blowout win. Yes, this is a huge overreaction to say that mavs will play like that every game going forward, but I'm so hyped to see not just the team, but Luka actually try to fix the things they were bad at in the past.

watching a mavs center genuinely put effort into running around the rim trying to create lobs and put pressure on the paint defense was almost enough to make a grown man cry

@@mikenickerson9640 I think the offense takes a slight step back, Ant's level of shot making is great but not at Dames level, and Shaedons isnt consistently where it needs to be. I could see a fringe-ish top 10 offense. Defensively I think Scoot will buy in, DA will buy in, and we have capable defenders. The turning point comes from our wing defense outside of 'Tisse. Camara needs to have the minutes and prove ready, Shaedon needs to want to play defense, and Ant needs to take some leadership and help get the team some stops.

I can’t tell if it’s coaching or if Kat and ant are so delulu with ego they ask for constant isos, ant was sayin crazy shit in the summer tournament and we saw how that went he clearly thinks high of himself, a coaching change would if they do listen to them and run the plays

Yeah I’m starting to think that we’re still busy trying to fit Rudy in because a lot of the times spacing is fucked up and to me still we need a third person that can be at least a threat on offense to keep 3/5s of an opponents defense honest

I think the biggest thing is realizing if jg is the guy moving forward , he’s still showing the same deficiencies that hold him back from being a “guy”

Lakers looked awful. For AD to talk shit and not even show up on the court in the second half is embarrassing. And you got DLO playing like he's trying to prove something and forcing everything. But that nuggets defense was looking elite though.
