same here. just recently temp went up. sooo humid! I applied scotts disease EX twice already and still getting yellowing and dollar spots. I did a full lawn reno and reseeded last week. Summer like weather started, then temp drops next week. its gonna be a challenge,,, but nothing will stop us 😎😎

Full send dude. I planted ryegrass middle of July last year 90+ degrees came in like a champ and germinated in 3 days lol. Just gotta watch out for pythium trying to keep the soil wet when its hot as balls. I put down Subdue Maxx and didn’t have an issue.

How did the overseeding turn out? Did it grow for you? I think if you can keep enough moisture in it, you can get seed to germinate even if it is too warm. It also grows at night time too when the temperatures are not a hot. Also, the seed will likely grow in the fall if it can't in the summer. It will likely hibernate and wait for the right growing conditions to develop.

You have expired me to fix up my lawn. I have a Ryobi mower and I love it. I mow at level 3 and it cuts perfect.I am also trying to learn how to edge with a regular string trimmer, do you have any advice?Love your video’s.

I might've gone with a bag or 2 of Ironite to improve the color and save $ versus an early-summer reno on a common area but I hope it goes great Brah!

If you got a local landscaping supply store you can get a truckload and it might actually be cheaper to rent a truck for the day and pick it up. This is of course assuming the prices are better at the landscaping store. We saved a lot of money doing it that way. Keep up the good work!

I just cut my yard monday i put some scotts Bermuda grass and Pennington Bermuda as well cause i live in west texas i watered the grass Tuesday night for about 2 hrs at night yesterday i raked on the bald spots i had and layed seeds with my hand spreader on 5th setting and then watered yard for about 2 hrs after laying seeds untill about 10pm and then it sprinkled light till this morning around 6am now ill water it again tonight or should i do it 3 times a day insted of once a day 2 hrs in the later afternoon around 8pm which would be better thanks for the help as well

I know you use pgr.. in some cases it helps( pgr and overseeding ) and in some it hurts.. we well see..depends in the grass grass types in cool season grass. I think you run a cool season if not mistaken

Hope all is well, have you came across the Green Scott lawn aerator yet? Unique idea having the lawn aerator to attach to one of the mower wheels to mow and aerate at same time, thinking of picking one up soon as prices don’t seem too bad. Just unsure how well it’ll work.

I got a discount on a Lesco fertilizer bag on HD. I didn't even ask for it. Got home to later see it was all clumped due to the humidity. It was the last bag, I just wanted to try something different. guess I will dissolve that and spray. Or put it under the trees. lol

doesnt look like disease bor, its just thatch. Regular certicutting and scarifying will keep thatch u nder ontrol.

What’s your brand reco for high quality grass seed?

I'm not a lawn expert, but bro, I think you might need to dig up those sidewalks if you want them right. It looks to my untrained eyes like the town or city only gave you 2-3 inches of topsoil and you probably have a compacted clay cap under that and arent getting drainage. Maybe just dig a test hole down like 6-8 inches and check out whats going on underneath. No fertilizing is gonna fix a drainage issue.

Dip into some liquid iron on your next tank. Not too expensive and very necessary for the NW climate. (No wah-pah to send out the vid? Take care man. )

If you don’t have a weasel I highly recommend one. They are inexpensive and are excellent for little projects like this. Got mine from Home Depot. They work great when you want to make sure the seed makes soil contact.

Ive had a similar issue with some spotty areas on my lawn but it too was restricted to the area closest to the street on the other side of the sidewalk just like yours. I couldnt understand what was causing it. I was thinking it was some sort of drainage issue or just bad underlying soil. After taking usual staps to remedy it i still would have some issues. I then got to thinking something must be contaminating it by other means and it so happened one day as a neighbhor came by walking their dog the dog was really wanting to go sniff the hydrant really bad and the owner had to drag the dog away from it and thats when I had an idea. I set a little cheap surveilance camera to monitor that area for a week or two to see if Im just missing something. Not long after setting it up I found what was most likely the bigger issue. Turns out that the hydrant on that portion of the lawn which isnt connected to my actual lawn but the sidewalk grass is a very active place. From random neighborhood dogs that get loose and take midday strolls, passer by dogs who make sure to sign the birthday card as their owner checks their faceook, the neighborhood cats that leave their perfume on it which im sure really gets the dogs fired up, squirrels, a coyote and its family, an obese possum, and even a skunk were all spotted in a rather short period of time when going over the footage. So long story short it turns out that the area I was having difficulty getting to stay healthy was actually the public bathroom for the domesticated and undomesticated animals throughout the neighborhood and most likely was influencing the erratic behavior of the lawn. Luckily its located on the side that doesnt see much human foot traffic apart from the people out walking with their dogs but its the dive bar singles hangout for wildlife and pets who have pulled a shawshank redemption getaway. Now what I do is make sure to set my sprinklers to water down that area longer with the occasional hand water with the high powerd nozzle to help wash down that area so its not smelling like a cheap pay by the hour motel to every animal that gets within 40 feet of it and put down extra layers of sand to try and protect the soil as much as possible from any unwanted bodily fluids those party ANIMALS leave behind. Ive also installed a cheap solar powered motion sensing light on a tree over in that area and it seems to scare off some of the offenders here and there so the $9.99 i spent on it seems to have a good return. Next step is to make a solar powered motion sensing sprinkler that runs of its own independent water source so I dont need a hose hooked up to it. The live feed from the camera on that watching the reactions of the animals getting hit with it might generate enough funds on youtube to buy a nice McClane reel mower or a Cali Trimmer in return LOL. Recently Ive seen some improvement as we cleanse the soul of the underlying soil what's probably going through psychological issues from everything its had to endure over the years.
