The general public will never understand the awesome designs of that equipment OR the skill, teamwork and communication that goes on, to safely transport these kind of loads. Great job by the entire team!!
Been there done that. Was a blast. Except the one I worked with was set up about the same except we didn't have that lone axle in the middle on the rear sections. Ours wasy also a trunnion axle all the way through on our wagon with all disc brakes.
I miss the excitement and pay of escorting those types of loads.... paid vacation is what I used to call it lol except when 4-wheelers try to be stupid
Great job by the driver and whoever was steering the trollies. Just curious why the route planner had to drag that load through a small town intersection?
I live in a small Michigan town and we've had a couple go through. loads like that, at 17 feet tall, are generally too tall for expressways. Since off-ramps and on ramps aren't always across from each other. Here there are no bridges between two major cities. We have a similar turn here for the main state highway. These trucks take it so they don't have to worry about finding that an exit ramp doesn't lead to an on ramp. Even then, being as wide as they are, they'll often be too wide for even the off ramps. That trailer will cover the entire ramp and the dirt on the sides. Any dips, or loose place, as heavy as that is, can lead to the load shifting, or the trailer sinking. I'd hate to have to try to lift that out of a dip.
The 1 that I saw had a compressor of some kind, they had a bucket truck to raise stop lights that were not tall enough. I’m wondering where this one is??
Don’t see what the fuss is all about. Intersection large enough to pull a quad around there with room to spare. Putting this load into a tighter turn would bring out a better side to the skill of the driver and trailer pilot

I don't understand. The geometry is COMPLETELY predictable. Either the terrain will allow the vehicle and load to follow their best track, or it won't. The track can be surveyed ahead of time and drawn on the ground to completely eliminate any possible tracking error. This would be on level ground, of course, as depicted in this video. On a severe side slope, additional factors have to be taken into account, and some of these such as track creep and unanticipated shifting of the load could become genuinely problematic. But this, on the video, are you serious?
