just an update: the wr-r10 is now (2021) out of manufacture, the alternate is the wr-r11a/b, the 11a is the connector with the mcdc-10 style socket, the11 B is the 10 pin connector, this is a mono-cock adaptor, a one piece, no losing the top piece :-) and I understand the 11a fits z6/7 as well as the Z6ii/Z7ii so no worries about using the sb-5000 flash as described in older video's, just replace the wr-r10 refference for the wr-r11a/b. also as i am aware the wr-t10 is still available as the remote for this reciever, and is available as a kit with the new wr-r11a/b, from B&H, Adorama, and other places, depending on stocks.

I have the Nikon D500. When I bought the SB-5000 I also bought the SB-5000 wireless controller kit (which contains the WR-R10 & the Wr-A10). The version 3 firmware was installed as expected). Once I input the right settings on the SB-5000 & the D500 they successfully paired. The green lights came on both the WR-R10 and the SB-5000. Everything is working perfectly. Highly recommended.

no, it is not complicated, just this unit can also be a wireless remote (aka cable release) as well as the flash trigger, so you can do BOTH jobs simultaneously!, no need for the ml-20, etc. as well as the flash gear, only one adaptor, the 12 pin part is INCLUDED in the remote kit with the wr10 and the "door-opener" remote, JUST be sure it has firmware 3 on it, otherwise the flash won't trigger on older cameras ( D800, D750/D700) only the D810 and D5/D500 are "equiped" with this feature from the factory as I am aware.

Please advise if this flash could be used with other Camera makers like Olympus 35 mm Film Cameras. Also, is this flash compatible with Nikon F80 Film Camera.

I'm wondering if this one is compatible with z7ii straight without the WR-R10?

Excellent video, very helpful! Is there a battery indicator on this flash? I think it only offers a "low battery" warning, (if that), which is not helpful for planning purposes. Have you found a battery indicator? Thanks!

Lets see, can you explain why they were smart enough to add bluetooth features to the Nikon D850 but not to this flash? I mean instead of radio you could have Bluetooth and NO expen$ive Bit$ hanging off the camera.

The wra10 and wr10 and the kit has been sold out EVERYWHERE for 7 months the sb5000 is 600 and the kit you need is 150 so to use a two light setup is 1350 but I have been using this system for about a year and it works great and it is a good flash BUT wow Nikon doesn't make it easy so buyer beware......good vid

Nikon is having financial problems and I can see why! They have been making one bad decision after another! The only thing that’s halfway decent is the D850. They need better management!

Dear Topic Camera Lens Rentals Team Thank you for your review of SB 5000. Can you suggest any 3rd party substitute in comparison to SB 5000. I am interested in Yongnuo wireless system. Can you suggest the functionality over Nikon.

Hi Jatinder. Thanks for the comment. We have just been testing the New Profoto A1 system. Its not cheap but integrates perfectly into the whole Profoto AIR-TTL System which we love. Overview video here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WzrhzGhqcZg.html

Hey 2 weeks ago i ordered the 910 and today they told Nikon has discontinued the flash because of the new 5000. Now after watching your review and some other in amazom, now i am not sure i want the 5000. tell me woudl you still recomend the 910 over the 5000 if i find it in ebay? thanks. I appreciate your insight

+Marcos Enrique Ruiz Rivero II (AVIEL) The 5000 is more powerful and the wireless functions will be great however having to buy additional wireless accessories to make it function is not so great. The 5000 is more powerful better heat syncs and has more functions.

How powerful to be worthy to choose one over the other. My only issue is that the sb5000 is getting bad review every where, B&H, amazon and you tube.

The 910 was an amazing flash and if you can pick up a cheap one it will serve you well. Still some new ones floating about and I sure hope will be clearing them at good prices. Maybe you could get a bargain

Does't the SU800 work with the SB5000?
@pimnauta3840
@pimnauta3840 4 года назад
Nope, but you can trigger another flash with the SU 800 and use the SB 5000 as a slave flash.

It's a same so much money for a flash that you can't see the battery level and none said nothing about that..

I am going to keep using my 910s. I am never going to use all the 5000 functions. The price is affordable, but it is not worth spending the money on the 5000 to me.

I have tried to purchase this unit (WR10 unit ) and cannot find it at a reasonable price, B&H has it listed for $199 but it’s always on back order. You can find it on eBay from anywhere from $300-$400. I’m really angry with Nikon, they wonder why they’re having Financial problems, it sure doesn’t develop customer loyalty when they can’t even supply what you need to operate the flash. Canon has a much superior system and obviously Superior engineers! I’ve actually thought about dumping all my Nikon equipment and switching over to Cannon or Sony! Nikon seems to be making one bad decision after another!

Good luck in your search. These have always been a special order item for us here in NZ. Over the years we have fell out of love with Nikon. Sony and Canon have become much more popular with our customers.

ATG Gold MG8K Flash Kim X3 is way better than all Nikon & Canon flashes ever made. * nine wireless flash modes * dual flashtubes * wireless radio in ATG ADI TTL, ATG ITTL and ATG ETTL II * ATG Auto2 (radio that is better than using TTL) * 0.5 second full recycle time from 1/1 power. Nikon/Canon are slow * No overheating. * No shutdown. So you guys and gals thought Nikon SB-910 (Canon 600EX-RT) and this are good. You have been fooled like many still buying Pocket Wizard.

+Finland Apollo Trying asking Alzo Digital & have your money ready. ATG has been supporting the amateurs to working professionals for more than 50 years. You must be new into photography that always think the Nikon is good, right? Try dropping over Hasselblad, Leica, Phase One, Red, Canon, Sony, Olympus, Panasonic & Fuji lands. Nikon is in trouble. Photographers are jumping away from Nikon. Nikon F6 = Can't sale when compared to ATG Canon EOS-1VHSr Canon sold more Canon EOS-1V HS. Nikon 1 = Zero Nikon DF = Major flopped. No videos. Nikon D5 = Major flawed. No ATG 4K beyond 4 minutes. All those years and now they came out with a radio flash but no radio ITTL transmitter.
