Keith, why do you think Toro decided to use the Kohler CV200 on new Turfmaster HDX, which has 9.5 ft./lbs of torque when they are using a more powerful engine (10 ft./lbs) on the residential grade Timemaster? Why not use the more powerful Kohler CV224 at 11 ft/lbs of torque? It can't be weight because they both weigh 37lbs, and both fit the deck similarly. Any clue?
@@ppal64 OK, valid point, 1/4" lower, but commercial machines are often faced with neglected lawns where the grass is overgrown. They are also more often faced with having to cut in other less than optimal conditions like wet grass, etc. One would think that a commercial machine would always require as much if not more power/torque as it's residential sibling.
Sorry to be so delayed in responding to your inquiry -- just seeing your comment now. The latest model change as of 2023 incorporates the Kohler CV224 motor.
Is there any other way to adjust the self propel top speed other than the cable adjustment bolt slide part near the blade engage handle? I've got mine in the tightest adjustment possible and it still doesn't proppell as strongly as it originally did. I would appreciate any feedback advice on how to fix this issue thankyou.
Hi -- sorry to be so delayed in answering you. We have a hill across the front of our house as to which I was a bit concerned (I use one on our property). I initially tried it up and down the hill a few times without engaging the blades in case it would be an issue. It was not an issue. The new model has a Kohler instead of a Kawasaki engine -- and, it is a more powerful machine.
