I feel like if the campaign was done like “full priced release dropping all in one go with the talent trees and extra content”, no one would have a single issue with dropping $50-60. But $15 for 3 missions and padded with a whole chunk of “extras” is embarrassing
Haven’t seen any players in any of the mission modes. Queue takes forever trying to find someone and unlike other modes no access to “while you wait” play. No variations like the weekly ones in the free mission.
My big issue is the fact they essentially stole our money. We paid for permanent access to all heros current and future when we bought OW1, and now I have to pay instead.
But the value we got in terms of content updates throughout the years was way beyond what we had to pay. We basically got a 60$ game (or even 3 times less if you got the game years later like me) with content of multiple games. Remember that we could unlock pretty much every skin and item by simply playing the game back then. In terms of content to price ratio we had it really cheap I'd say
@@slei4676 I'd argue differently, simply because it did cost $40 anyway and for that kind of price I don't expect the servers to be shut down and denied access to the new heroes after like 6 years of gameplay. Back then, yes it was amazing, we got great value for our money and we could unlock cosmetics through playing, but as an OG overwatch player my issue is that now we have to pay for literally almost all cosmetics and we can't even get the new hero for free without grinding a ridiculous amount of levels on the battlepass, which is really unfair since it's likely that on release, those who bought the battlepass can play the hero whilst they're broken and an essential pick in every match, and then once F2P players or people who formerly bought it finally level to level 65 or whatever, we get to play the nerfed version that sucks ass. If they'd kept giving us P2P players the new heros every release, at least for another few years, like they did with kiriko i'd have been able to get over the cosmetics cause whilst it does take some fun away it doesn't ruin the game. But making content available sooner behind a paywall is literally the definition of P2W and I hate to see one of my former fav games get ruined by greedy devs.
I still just think there’s no reason for the card system to not be optional. Like they implemented it so that some players wouldn’t get ranked anxiety so why force that on everyone instead of only the people it’s supposed to help?
It's almost certainly an engagement thing. "alright I'm at 4-2 and am pretty tired but i'll push through one more win for that rank up", then you play and play 2 games to get your cards finished. ... or you're like me and go 1-10, drop 4 divisions and uninstall for the week :3 I think if they're smart they'd make it basically like placements used to be. five games played (win, lose or draw) and your rank updates. The whole system is clearly designed to convince players to engage more with the game and I can't see them completely abandoning it to go back to the SR system. the current system has a lot of players go like 2-5 and then not want to play because they know they'll derank.
yeah but the ranking system is broken, and the fact all players get grouped instead of new players getting their own thing until their rank gets stable. because you'll have people constantly in wrong ranks due to how bad and insane the ranking is for new accounts. smurfing, cheating and spamming alt accounts to zoom randomly to higher rank is bad ranking que grouping design.
My main beef with 5v5 is that removing a tank makes the line of scrimmage become a point of scrimmage instead. It makes access to backlines much cheaper, meaning supports must be more powerful, either with damage or escape tools. That can be a lot of fun if you play support, but it's decidedly less fun for the other roles.
A lot of negative changes to the game have been centered around making things easier for already spoiled DPS players so Support players never feel bad when it's their turn to ruin the game. I'm not defending that or claiming that toxicity justifies more toxicity, it's just a cycle that Blizzard enforces by balancing around cheese heroes and only listening to one tricks all the time. Their philosophy that it always has to be ez for a basement dwelling autist to win by trolling has been a problem for most Blizzard games.
The skins part I have to disagree with, just because everyone else has shitty pricing doesn't make OW2s prices acceptable. I'm not paying the price of some games for a skin I hardly see.
he just made a comparison. Like "Other games have similar prices and have done it way longer than OW2 and nobody/fewer people complain about it, but when OW does it everyone grabbed their torchs". And its captalism, cheaper skins may sell more, but the profit in return will be lower. Less money the game generates, less content and more employees receiving less for how much they work. It's the classic,: if you can't beat them, join them
Exactly, I play Apex and those skins are laugably expensive (and usually not of great quality). So just because Apex has outrageous prices doesn't mean it's okay
@@MsElViktorexcept that we already had a system that allowed you get skins or grind them by playing enough in Overwatch 1. In OW2 you need to grind and save for more than 8 months to get a single 1900 coins legendary skin and it's even worse for those that are in the weekly rotation on the shop. Even if someone were to argue that its a free to play game that doesn't exclude them that the legendary edition of OW1 had the equivalent price of 3 OW2 skins.
F2P is a stupid concept to begin with. Skins should not be locked behind paywalls. Instead it should be things that make your life better. For example you could be paying for extra ignore player slots. So your playing gets more fun as you ban more players that bother you. And all it costs you is more money to have a better time. You could also sell queue priority tickets, so you get a game faster if you pay. There are many possibilities that won't interefere with people's game content, but only with their experience.
@@ArcadianWaheela TBF when you're so used to Blizzard/Overwatch cucking you out of near everything you start to get used to it, its like a stockholm syndrome lol
The problem with 5v5 is that the game isn't meant to be 5v5. Every single hero was designed with multiple tanks coming at you in mind. I would 100% have enjoyed 5v5 more if every hero was rebalanced, but they haven't reworked most of the characters, and the ones they ARE reworking are taking FOREVER. They just keep pushing back the rework date for some odd reason.
Heroes werent designed for 6v6. They were designed to be cool and fun. Hell, we even had an attack and defense roll with dps. However, I understand some heroes need to be tuned down for the new system
I agree with this to an extent, I personally think that 6v6 is just more casual due to how it's inherently more chaotic, yet if the game is practically completely reworked around 5v5 it would be much better than it is now.
I don't think every hero needs a rework, but definitely a lot of them do. Any non-tank who gets disproportionate value out of shooting tanks (Reaper and Ana come to mind) should be looked at for a rework. To be fair, I think the reworks they've done thus far (Sombra, Hog, and Ball) have been steps in the right direction.
@Goo_negs double shield could have been fixed issue was the team was busy with ow2 when double shield became the meta also the second tank usually wasn't the problem it was the supports Only real valid argument is que times 5v5 is way way better
Overwatch with rip off extras. Supporting this game will encourage more developers to make similar 'free' games loaded with rip off transactions. Once the game is no longer supported you'll be wondering how much you would have saved in total if you never bought any dlc or extras (and how many more games you could now have)
Even if OW 2 is decent, not bad, acceptable, almost good or whatever, it doesn't really matter. OW1 was good, and OW2 is not as good. They downgraded the game, and increased monetisation. And thus I don't play it anymore.
Exactly haha, dude gave us a 1 minute long complaint before saying “it’s free so therefore it’s good” LIKE BRO I SPENT $60 DOLLARS ON THIS SHI WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY BUTCHERED THE GAME
If push got weaatherchanges mid match could be interesting Maybe on on the Toronto they could make the omnic ships do orbital drops on the point or heck imagine the losing team getting AI help once quickspawn is capped just is worth expermenting with even if its only arcade
I've always thought Push could use Power-up Packs around the Maps. Since the Maps are even say your down and need to push bot on the next rotation to get lead you might have your soldier or tank go grab a Power-up to help with the fight.
@@yeatle it could be a toggleable thing in the settings, like: Weather: Very low, low, medium, high, very high, ultra It could auto be on low so new players no it exists, and if they have a bad PC they're used to looking in settings to optimise and save every frame they can. And the players with strong players auto set it to a higher setting with a specs toggle
I was talking about the game with other friends and why we did not play anymore, so is very refreshing to see an honest review being fair to "all sides" of this complex coin. Thanks Yeatle you always have been my favourite OW RU-vidr/streamer even if I do not play th game anymore.
5v5 completely killed this game for me. I played non-competitively and loved it. With 5v5 positioning, flanking, the pace of play... it all feels different in a way that supports hyper competitive play and ruins casual play. I'm curious about different ways to play and wish they'd add it to custom games options. Like bringing back 6v6 or even 8v8 as a casual game type. Or 5v5 with 1T 1H 3dps. Thank for the video haven't played ow2 since early this year.
i forgot to add this to the post i posted on this page. but yea, 5v5? why? just why? new heroes all have a stun ability, why? just why? mei needs to rmb 10 seconds on 1 enemy in order to be frozen, why? just why? sombra only hacks for 1 second but it takes 3 to 4 seconds for sombra can hack again, why? just why? bro. this game is super trash. also, blizzard just continues to release unbalanced heroes instead of balancing unbalanced existing heroes. why? just why? and then the guy from this video dares to call ow2 a great game regardless. yea i stopped watching after 12 seconds. when someone calls 1 of the worst games ever, a great game, his video should not be watched any further.
@@APR4JC I'm not sure I understand or agree with that, it certainly isn't the worst game ever. However it is a disappointment in comparison with ow1. I think the decisions made for ow2 are informed by an effort to make the game more competitive. Which can be cool for people in the top 500 like Yeatle. But as a casual, an individual who is looking for a fun game not a competitive one, it is a massive step in the wrong direction for my overwatch. It's not made for me anymore and that's okay.
@@FungusMungus26 yeah I would agree with that but I think sometimes they don’t listen to community input since it goes against their vision for the game
@@caoilte8097 pretty sure many of the dev team pitch ideas with examples of prominent community members asking for those ideas- but many get turned down by higher ups. Also I recall someone talking about how consoles need to approve every update to overwatch.
7:13 - There are various reasons why your 6v6 vs 5v5 points are flawed. I will debunk each of your reasons supporting 5v5: (1) Less players per game equals more games, but you also need more games to fit the same amount of players, so no real advantage here. There are many tank players that have quit playing tank or play tank much less because of 5v5, the devs stopped updating OW1 while working on OW2, and there was 8 tanks, 17 damage, and 7 supports at the end of OW1 (meaning it's more likely a player will find a hero they like in the Damage role more than the other 2 roles, which is why DPS queues were the highest). They needed to focus on improving the tank experience in 6v6 by removing lots of CC like they did for OW2. Also, adding only tank & support heroes to catch up to the number of DPS heroes helps balance queue times per role. (2) There is less for new players to keep track of in 5v5, but in 6v6 they have more time to react to what is going on because of the 2nd tank. 5v5 simplifying things only reduces replayability. (3) Spectating games does not become easier because plays happen significantly faster in 5v5 than in 6v6, so it can be hard to see what happened. (4) Balance does not become easier, because having 1 tank vs 1 tank causes rock-paper-scissor 1-sided match-ups much more often, and balancing all tank match-ups to feel fair is basically impossible to pull off. Tank synergies are no different than DPS or Support synergies; there are good and bad pairs for each role.
your point (1) is misunderstanding what yeatle is saying - fewer players means more games total, as you said, but that's exactly the point. Fitting the same number of players into smaller teams gives you more possible combinations of players - remember that the matchmaker has to find a match with 2 DPS, 2 supports, and 1/2 tanks. I'm not convinced this effect is all that significant going from 6 to 5, but it's possible. The bigger reason why 5v5 would improve queue times is because of the low tank playerbase.
THANK YOU for being one of the only OW content creators to demand a movie/series! This is what Overwatch needs. I don't care about PvE, even if it did turn out how they promised. I want to sit down and watch a full length movie or series on the big screen in Overwatch cinematic glory.
@@rayvintankerson6818 Everyone wants it, but no one actually says it. Most OW players would rather complain about what we got rather than ask for what we want
The last few cinematics are terrible story-wise. There's no story, just the idea of one. With incomplete lore to suggest there's more, without there actually being any. Compare Overwatch to Arcane. Sure, the potential is there - but no one at Blizzard is up to the task.
I think few cared about PvE. What people wanted was custimization like in Diablo 2, and they knew that it wouldn't be balanced so it would be a sacrifice to do PvE instead of broken PvP.
I uninstalled Overwatch this week for the first time ever. Not saying I won't come back eventually, but especially as a tank main I feel like I just got out of an abusive relationship. I will always wonder what 6v6 role queue with actual live service support would've looked like, because I agree that sups/dmg play better overall in OW2, but at great expense of tanks. Its clear to me now that the problematic tanks will be put on ice for waaaaay too long, and will never be balanced. Hog is my least favorite tank, but they just iced him for 9 months. Ball was a decent pick for 2 WEEKS. There's no game quite like Overwatch, so I might return if they manage to right the ship. But I'm all out of hopium, and there's plenty of other ways to spend my time.
I think this is definitely a hot take given all the drama about the game right now. I have to agree about having some of the best skins, best maps, most strategic, and all of those things. Those things are why I feel in love with overwatch in the first place. I have to say though, overwatch 2 feels like a different game to me and since it came out, I played it less and less until my passion for the game fizzled out all together. I want so badly to enjoy the game again but the complex interactions and chaotic fights that made the game interesting and challenging just aren't there for me anymore. It seems like they toned in these unique play styles for the sake of balancing the game.
There are AAA games that go on discount for $15 or less and they have like 20+ hour long stories. Why should anyone spend $15 for 1 and a half hours of gameplay?
Quite possibly the best (and funniest) OW2 video I've ever watched and I've seen a lot of them. I don't agree with everything, but I agree with most and your presentation is A+. Your gameplay is also A+. You, sir, have a new fan~!
I'm sorry but 5v5 has to be the worst thing since brig got released. Tank will never be fixed because there will always be one tank that survives OP supports better. The rock paper scissors forced swaps is boring which is why even fewer people play tank than ever before.
I've been really enjoying these videos you've been putting out, man. Editor yeatle gets to flex and provides us with good content. The length of the vids have been phenomenal, and just some really solid points about every aspect of the game. I'm sure there are a lot of players here from OW1 and it's easy to understand exactly what he's saying. Hit up the DMs, Blizzard! 😭
While I agree with alot of what you are saying, I hate to say I think the pricing on the skins is a little outrageous. I know games like fortnite are similar but not only does fortnite give you in game currency via battle pass, it also shows you the model constantly. With there being soo many characters and only seeing the first person model of the skins, it's not a great value proposition
as a lower rank player i actually like the ranked system bc it's simpler and cleaner, to me micro variation within gold or plat is not that important, but i definitely agree with eskay that granularity is best for the very top players. i also strongly agree that story missions are a waste of dev resources
"Best skins in the fps genre" "Best looking maps in the fps genre" bro come on. Is the "honest review" title a joke? This is the most biased thing I've ever seen.
your opinion is as biased as his. youre most likely someone who just hates on the game because its either not TF2, or you are just following everyone elses opinion like a npc
Agree on most things except the meta changing every month. It was soujorn with a mercy pocket: The game for 3 seasons before she was toned down enough. Now its a different tank meta every balance patch. Thats not variety, that's making things broken and nerfing it over and over again. (Ram and Queen being busted as an example)
Really good video, yeatle! Lots of good points and I pretty much agree on all of it. I love all of the new heroes, especially Sojourn (unpopular opinion, i know lol)
9:57 I think it's been made pretty explicit by the Overwatch team that their balance philosophy boils down to "If everything is OP, then nothing is". They've largely succeeded (or at least, they have done at certain points) in making a game where most every character feels viable. The problem is, in those game states, all those characters are also ridiculously strong, meaning the game becomes less about nuanced play towards trying to make coordinated kills, and more about frantic solo performances - to the point where I wouldn't be surprised if every Adderall vendor in the country were pouring subsidies into Activision Blizzard.
the difference between fortnite skins and apex/ overwatch skins is that in fortnite not only can you actually see the skin at all times, you also dont need a skin for each hero and you can use it all the time.
THATS WHAT IM SAYING THESE MF’S DUMPING WHOLE PAYCHECKS ON ONE APEX CHARACTER. Imagine how good Apex would be if Respawn didn’t succeed off melee skins and instead making the game bigger like fortnite. Now the game is stale asf.
Great video! I think i pretty much agree with everything besides 5v5 vs 6v6. I love the way the game played in 6v6 even when the balance was at it's worst the tank synergy was a big part of the game for me. I also just think the game flowed much better in 6v6, I haven't played the game in a couple months now when i used to play everyday. I think it's time to accept that game just isn't for me anymore. Which sucks cause OW is where I liked to spend most of my time.
Not to mention that, yes it is behind a 15 dollar payment wall. But it is not like that worldwide. For me it is around 1300 currency, which as a student is my monthly food money. It translates into 32 dollars. Also about the skin issue you brought up, average skin is around 1/3 of a rent here. But I somehow get good skins with credits and blizzard throws amazon prime (0.3 dollars here lol) stuff and I get pretty good dealsç
Great video and probably the cleanest most concise summary of Overwatch 2. I’ve watched all the major streamers one year review and this is the best and it’s not close. Also loved listening to your takes on SVB podcast. Listen to this man Blizz!
Oh, fuck! I knew I remembered that he was going to on. The only way I’ll listen to an OW pod, is if yeatle went on. I think I’ve seen a few clips from SVB’s pod on Twitter when a major topic or streamer combo was on. Definitely checking that ep out now, thank you!
PVE's issue was that it was way too ambitious. Why didn't they just keep the 6 skills per hero that you can choose or smt similar instead of giving a non special regular pve event.
it's not even that to us player they worked on it for 3 years they kept us in the dark for 4 years saying that yeah it coming but it never did they lied to the playerbase
if I was in a relationship with you for 10 years and 3 years into our relationship I cheated on u and u never found out intill the lady or man I cheated on u with told u. you would be pissed that 10 years that we spent together believing that we had something truthful and loyal relationship was all false just because 3 years of ot was real doesnt lower the 7 years that it wasnt in fact it only raises it. it not that our relationship was ambitious I think everything needs a bit of ambitious to succeed but when u waste the time and trust of your lover/viewers then yeah ..
What you just described at the end already existed as a balance fix. It's called Overwatch 1.0 when both teams were able to pick mirror matches and it was 6v6... almost like the game was designed to work that way 😂
I dont agree with defending the skin prices because overwatch was a game i paid 60 dollars for in 2016 and the game i bought just doesnt exist anymore. I looked forward to saving up currency for the next event every few months to get skins for my favorite characters and they took that from me. Blizzard isnt a small studio who needs moneyto fund their projects they chose this horrible monetization practice simply because they want more money the fastest way possible and they know people will be willing to dump cash on skins. Havent enjoyed overwatch 2 and i just want the original one back
i preordered this game becuase we were promised the story missions with the purchase of the game. when the game dropped and we werent given that and then i was told that the reason i payed 60 was now behind a 15 dollar wall that was when i had enough.
Great video and sums up the state of overwatch pretty well. Does it have issues? Yes, but is still a great game that is now getting consistant updates and fun to play for the mosy part. My biggest issue is the ranking system, nobody asked for it to change from ow1. I may havr liked it at first because it felt easier to rank up (which may have been because of the influx of new players) even when barely winning over 50% of my games, but now it feels like I have to win every single game just to have a chance to rank up and if I happen to have a losing record the derank feel way more punishing. At the beginning of season 6 my first card I went 5-0 and went down 2 ranks and I havent played comp since and will probably only play casually until it is changed, which mames me a little mad because I love overwatch and the competitiveness, but right now the is not much incentive to play ranked.
yeatle i hope you know youre my top favorite OW teacher back in ow1 i used to always watch your play through while teaching , my favorite that really made me better was back when i mained DVA i watched your tutorial on how to really play her 24/7
I won’t ever forgive them for completely removing Overwatch for Overwatch 2. I’d rather pay 40 dollars and have to go through loot crates then deal with whatever they turned it into
As an ex-overwatch player who played since launch up until OW2, the monetization model pushed me away so fast. But, with the news that hero locking is going away at some point, some hope of this game being salvaged is restored. Maybe one day cosmetic prices will go back to their OW1 rates, credits can be obtained easier, and a loot box system (non purchaseable) can be reintroduced. One can only dream...
Arcane was already planned to have 5 seasons I believe. It's also the greatest piece of media ever created by the fist of man. I wouldn't bring it up in a discussion about Overwatch. Yeatle I love you but this game is unrecoverable. Time to move on.
Omg you paid less than the price of dinner for a game 8 years ago? Like bro what in life gives you that value for your money? You can download the game for free and play it. It’s free to play lol
Great video, getting tired of doomers. Flashpoint is the perfect example of what can be done when the PVP aspect of the game is the focus, imagine if they had never gone down the PVE route that no one really cared about and had focused all their resources on making the actual game better. If I wanted a PVE story game I'd play something else. As far as rank goes, I think if they at least made it update on 5 losses it would be way better. Nothing is more demoralizing than being 3-9 and basically just be playing to find out how much you de-rank. I'd rather just de-rank right away and get a new card. Also souvenirs are the most boring shit, only thing anyone ever uses is the heart emote on mercy players.
@lukasg4807 Buddy, they FORCED you to stop playing the original Overwatch with the PROMISE that OW2 was going to be for the PvE. All they actually did is force you to migrate for a different shop.
I'm glad someone finally bought up that skin prices are pretty standard compared to other Battle Pass games. If you're gonna slam Overwatch for doing it, why does no one complain in Apex, Fortnite, etc? Never made sense to me.
I basically stopped playing, even though i had 4k+ hours in OW1 The Combination of them removing 6v6, removing SR Ranked System, removing Account Levels, removing EndGame Lobby + Voting Cards, etc. just made the game soulless But the main reason that im not playing is 5v5, it just isnt Peak Overwatch, its a dumbed down version of it. I could put up with all the bullshit of Blizzard if the game ATLEAST was 6v6 and would get content again.
Pretty spot on in my opinion. Overwatch 2 is a good game. I don’t play it as much as I used to, but if we were still in 2021-22 overwatch 1, I would have quit entirely. Most of my friends stopped playing so I only boot up maybe once a week and it’s enough for me. Been playing since 2016 release, on and off. Overwatch 2 could be a lot better. But it’s still a good game and the direction is not going negative. That’s really best way I can describe my feelings on it. I feel confident that whenever I boot up overwatch 2, I know what I am getting. For better or for worse lol.
Whenever Yeatle decides to create something on RU-vid, it turns out to be so good, cohesive and it resonates quite deeply. I think you produce amazing content and I really appreciate you and your content. Just wanted to say Thank you.
Paying 60 dollars for overwatch 1 game and getting free stories was soooooooo much better than getting a free game and having to pay for stories in ow2.
1:39 The PVE not being free makes sense, what doesn’t make sense is the price point they gave. For 15 dollars you can buy multiple better experiences on steam, which is the main issue behind it. And Overwatch 2 is still successful-ish, not because its a particularly great game but because they removed OW1 and kept the core gameplay of it. Shouldn’t be called a sequel in the first place lmao
Personally I think that pro players should not handle game balance due to the population difference between casual vs top tier competitive players. Since most players play it casually unless it’s ruining the casual experience it would make sense for the balance team to continue what they have doing. Reminder my personal opinion.
i'm prepared to be called a shill in the replies but overall i've been pretty impressed by the new dev leadership. There obviously are issues but they clearly are much more receptive to player feedback than they used to be and I think it's generally speaking going in the right direction. The PVE reality is unfortunate but I still had fun with the story missions and tbh PVP is why I love OW anyway.
Late reply but this is exactly how I feel about overwatch 2 haha, most active the devs have been since 2019 and could be argued during its whole lifetime. Especially happy that boring meta's (like Mauga being broken in Dec) don't stay as long as they did in ow1 (double shields and goats).
They turned the game FREE-to-play. Any other free-to-play game would not be so greedy as to lock the main new content behind a paywall. Heroes incentivized through the battlepass is the most people should accept when it comes to content behind a paywall, because at least that is industry standard and you can grind instead. Just the cosmetic Watchpoint Pack was the cost of Overwatch 1. Why the fuck would anyone accept these missions costing money? People still playing OW2 are on that OMEGA copium.
Yeatle medium takes are delicous. I loved OW1 and maybe it would still slap if they gave it all the updates the sequel got, but OW2 is awesome. Every hero has more impact, tank duos ruined the game for everyone that wasnt in a committed tank duo, and the amount of content and updates we get now are superb. The "pricing" dilemma is easy to navigate - DONT BUY OVERPRICED COSMETICS PEOPLE. The battlepass is great value and you get free currency every week when you play. One thing Yeatle should've mentioned is the dev team improvements. We never got to see behind the curtain in OW classic, but now they talk to the community quite often.
Balacing will only be good, when every single character is strong and viable to play. Meta comps and mirror matches are the opposite of a balanced game, it just means that every other hero will make no difference against this comp than itself.
didnt you hear? you gotta PAY blizzard if you want that now. (this is a joke and a clear jab at how they are running things, seriously dont hope they will actually make this a thing)
The prices dont make sense. Its just been a norm in the gaming scene to put them HIGH and then dish them out like nothing. Only the Battlepass is somewhat worth on a price point since the skins are exclusive and never come back. But singular skins for more than even 3€ are way above what I'd expect they would have to do to get a good % of net-gain for each skin, even with every cost combined.
oh thank god a top 500 player is giving criticism! I can't wait how fast this game will get even more fucked because some ranked player came up with a bunch of non-solutions to problems they can't possibly comprehend!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I do think the hate for this game is way too over the top and that is definitely inflated by some creators specifically that are overly negative about the game, some of it is justified, but there is a reason most people are still here talking about it because it shows that people still care. The real problem is when people are apathetic about the game.
its good to see anyone with this positive outlook on this game, i still think that kiriko is the only new character that i think should go thru a some sort of rework not nececerly taking her abilities away but changing their effects because she is overall bad and unhealthy for the game.
I've been watching so many negative videos on overwatch, I've become really hateful and negative toward overwatch. It's not exactly unjustified, but I hate that one of my favourite ways to spend my time with my friends has been taken away. I hate that all the progress I was making in improving at the game has slowed due to my disinterest in it. This video felt like a breath of fresh air and I think I want to think about overwatch in a less jaded, bitter way. I agreed with lots of these points and realise that I can still get excited for certain aspects of overwatch. I am hopeful that they will work on ranked play because right now rank icons feel entirely cosmetic.
Just because there’s one less role doesn’t makes queues faster when many tank mains, like myself, refuse to play tank because of how terrible it is. So now support is overpopulated and the tank role in general will never feel good, especially when they only do one major patch a season. This game will never catch the hype that OW1 had in its prime and the community needs to voice the concerns because we deserve more. OW1 was left to die for about two years for this, remember that
@@a.w_.When the game is as fucked up as it is and the developers of said game are Activision Blizzard of all fucking things, then yeah mate, more often than naught you'd be right to assume it's a paid for under the table vid/opinion.
9:12 Blizzard did try this back in the day, but they went around it wrong. They blacklisted a couple specific heroes in each role, then left it to sit for 2 weeks. If each game was like the duel arcade mode where the hero pool changes each time randomly, that would thrive.
Great vid. Actual content effort. And really appreciate sticking to objective perspectives and not exposing even more unneeded (but popular) toxic opinions :) And to each their own I guess, but I wonder how many players disagree with on one or two things: 1) "Mirror Matches would be balanced and fun mode" - yeatle... no way! Even MORE restrictions? I bought this game for Open Queue and it won game of the year. I actually wish the game would hero lock across both teams so only one of every hero could exist in a match ACROSS both teams at any given time. 2) "Let players browse top 500 replays" - yeatle... no! It's funny that you say Ball+Hog is a bad combo, because I remember a time when that was a meta (in metal ranks?) and everyone wanted that. But the point here is that the SINGLE BIGGEST TOXICITY of OW for its entirety for most players is pressuring teammates to swap. And because this game allows swaps mid match, this dilemma is compounded with every death. "You keep dying, get off HERO_X, they're 'countering' you" - toxic teammate. But this toxicity is fueled too rapidly to combat. Average players are given too much power in OW to swapping heroes because changing play styles is instant but our mechanics and execution consistency may not be the best, such an easy decision to make... especially now in OW2 with 30% ult retain. And in the average ranks, this leads to much more counter picking than outplaying and progression in a hero, which is sad. And I actually believe this ease of counter swapping is why we see so many snowballs. For the many games we gain instant power in counter swapping, we level up and then are forced to not only play harder players, but then inevitably we play a match where the counterpicks aren't as obvious or they don't align with our hero pool, and so WE become counterpicked. All this is to say that I’d rather players think badly for themselves and we all play a game, than join a match of toxic prejudiced players only wanting to play the in a few stagnating meta ways without giving me a chance to flex my skills. Anyways, the more features the better I guess... but if it's somehow possible to aim these development resources away from this, I would suggest we still need matchmaking improvements... like I think SR in this game is a stupid measurement when on the whole role. We also need Hero SR, if not for restricting teammates from throwing then at least giving teammates an idea at how good a player is at their swaps.
