Nolan Long They'd said that new Symm won't be playable in the season playoff, as she goes live one day before them and that gives no time to fix any bug that might come with the patch. (Sorry, for my English, not my first language)

Right?? I imagine she’ll be used like a Mei is in OWL right now. Mei is used in the last seconds for over time so I imagine when things get tense and DVA has her ult then someone will switch to Sym so DVa can send in her ult on the point. New sym is a meta changer for sure.
The Crab Shack Teleporting Bastions... Bastion: Beep bop zwee? (Tele to high ground pls?) Symmetra: Understood. Bastion: Weewoo weewoo (Get me the hell out of here!) Symmetra: Understood. For your last wish? Bastion: Woop bzzt b- (Barriers would be ni-) Symmetra: REALITY BENDS TO MY WILL!!
It makes a surprise high noon much easier to pull off but the lock-on time is the same. It's basically the same as a regular Mccree flanking to high noon, but with height advantage and more convenience.
Dude they need to allow snowball through! I understand why standard skills can’t, but he is an ult! I think this could make for some really fun combos!
Most of the item-throwing skills (New-sym turret, Junkrat mine, Orisa shield) can go through the tp if thrown at the BASE of the tp, not the glowy blue stuff.
OMG the High Noon strats are going to be insane. Enemy rein and DVA are staring at you while you're high nooning but you teleport directly behind them and fire. GG
On paralell high grounds I can see soldier using his tac visor and switching from one high ground to the other to hunt down running enemies. Could be useful...
+Angelo Miguel Serrano If Valve could manage to do it using the Source engine ten years ago in Portal, I'm sure Blizzard could pull it off in Overwatch.
Okusar Keep in mind portal wasn't a game with 11 other players to render in real time and that the thing on the other side of the teleporter would constantly be changing as players and abilities went by it and you may begin to hopefully understand how difficult it would be to implement
Sombra should be able to hack the teleporter There should be delay between each teleport, so you cant just go back lol And yeah, Mei ultimate pls teleport it!
Syeha Abdal Nasher thats a nice concept, hacking the teleporter. Im unaware if we see it the same but Im guessing you mean she hacks it and it becomes your own, would make sense
You can teleport turret! You can teleport if you have been slept! If you hook someone and then teleport, the person goes with you! This is the same for if you have someone in charge! You can also teleport out of a grav!
Imagine you are attacking first point numbani. The entire defense is on the high ground, defending the small choke with double shield. Symmetra lays down a teleporter behind the team. Reinhardt walks through the teleporter and shatters the entire team. ITS HUGE! ITS A SIX MAN! This rework is so great.
a) you can teleport torb and sym turrets together, they will spawn inside each other b) you can teleport, hook, then teleport and drag the person with you as roadhog. c) you can escape grav, blizzard and earthshatter with teleporter. d) sombra cannot hack or EMP the teleporter, she can EMP the shield at any point and it will go down. thats all I can remember, I recorded all this it was funny
I love how you clearly make your videos without quality checking them. Just completely half arse it. ‘You CANNOT teleport Torb’s turret. Or maybe you can, I don’t know, I wasn’t paying attention’ 👍
I think he missed a few things here. The rules for the teleporter are: Player entities have to press a button to teleport, Nonplayer entities such as riptire and dva mech, sym and torb turrets will teleport when they CONTACT THE BASE OF THE TELEPORTER, not the oval of the portal Projectiles will not teleport, but Orisas shield (as an example) turns into a structure when the projectile lands; so things like Sombra's translocator might be teleported...? Channeled abilities are not canceled by the teleport, as mentioned in the video. Momentum from movement abilities is conserved
I mean I guess some people like an exhaustive list but personally I think it's easier to just remember with a few rules. 1) Symettra and her teammates can teleport. (Duh) 2) Teleport requires pressing acknowledge/interact (F) to activate. 3) Teleporting does not cancel abilities. You can use it mid ability - even channeled abilities and ultimates. 4) You cannot fire projectiles, deployables, etc. through the teleporter. However, if you place a deployable directly on the teleporter, it does teleport. (E.g. Turrets) 5) The only exceptions to ALL of the above rules: Rip Tire and D.Va Bomb. It's really that simple.
The oval part of the teleporter seems to just be a visual cosmetic. It seems that most abilities, if can travel, travel through the actual base of the teleporter so this video is a little bit off. I would like to see this video done again but try to concentrate all abilities at the base of the teleporter and see what happens then. 😁
So to recap, only player entities can go through but not projectiles. Entities include all player characters and things that either use to be the player (d.va mecha) or things the player controls (riptire). Players have to activate the teleporter to go through, secondary entities go through automatically.
EXCEPT !!!! you didn't try the build the teleport to teleport something else that is close by. For example - symmetra can teleport her own turrets by putting the turrets (deploying them) on top of a teleporter, or deploying a teleporter on top of her turrets. Theoretically you could do the same with torbs turret and maybe even junks mine/trap. Maybe even sombra's teleporter
Basically, anything that isn't a projectile can go through it. Think of genji's deflect, all things he can deflect won't be able to teleport, but player based objects like dva bomb/tire/rein himself and all the heros that ult and then move through can.
I can see this working very well in master because it now replaces needing a Mei at the start of the match to get on the high ground to the right on the point. You can now just teleport
okay you said the soldier ult combo wouldnt be used much. I hugely disagree. Soldier has a hard time getting around barriers during his ult. If symmetra put 2 teleporters up on opposite ends of the area on the high ground, well that is incredibly powerful. Everytime the Reinhardt turns around you go through the barrier to get behind him.
I tested it, you can indeed teleport the turret, but if Torb puts the turret on the teleporter, then he doesn't get a chance to upgrade it before it teleports. If however Sym puts down the teleporter while a turret is directly in front of her, it basically moves the turret to the new location, which IS a way to move an upgraded turret around. You could also potentially use it to pull a turret that's in danger in the distance to a safe location near Sym.
You can go through by activating it (during any movement ability or channel too) with momentum maintained baring widow. Anything dva can defense matrix amd beams can't make it through. (You also can't Target through it since you can't see anyone). But "projectiles" that interact like characters like tire or dva bomb automatically go through without needing to click.
I do kinda wish some more stuff could be teleported, like Snowball or graviton surge. I feel like it'd be hard to implement, but being able to hook someone through a teleporter would be pretty rad. This is still pretty incredible. There's a lot of potential here. I like how teamwork-oriented this ability is. It can do some great stuff as long as you work together with your team.
Turret works, both Syms and torbs if you put the turrets on the teleporter. If ana sleeps an enemy on a teleporter they can teleport while being asleep. and Sombra's Emp doesn't destroy the barrier... yet
You can hold the activate button to go through also, but it has to be the last thing you do. So you can hit shift to boost with dva and then hold f and when you get to the teleport, you'll go through.
You can also hold the interact button than use an ability like charge or rocket punch and you will go right through. Just an fyi, no spamming required.
They don't teleport any projectiles, this includes fires and alt fires, ults of tracer, mei, zarya, basically anything you can deflect or use DM against. D.va's mech and Rip-Tire are not projectiles so they can teleport. Sym's turrets start as projectiles so they don't teleport immediately, but if you throw them at the base of the teleporter, when they become turrets they teleport because they stop being projectiles.
It’s can teleport torb and symetra turrets, by placing them on the base of the teleported, so I’m not sure, but some of those other ability’s/ults might work the same way as well (like Orisa barrier or mei ult)
You are able to use the tele to get out of gravs and snowballs, BUT you have to do it quickly and hope you have a shield since the tele takes damage and can be destroyed.
Sym is literally the ultimate combat engineer due to her current kits potential on gameplay dynamics and high synergy with certain other members in the roster. This meta is going to be insane.
The way I see it Most physical abilities are able to pass through no problem I say most since stuff like snowball, the chain hook, flash grenades and healing canisters, while physical, are not able to be teleported.
Hey just so you know you can tp the torb turret. But you put the turret down first THEN you put down the tp. Give it a go. It might have been fixed since I saw it happen though. Seems unintended.
They should make it a setting for the activation button. Having that button is helpful for when one is placed in concentrated area of team mates so they do not accidentally teleport somewhere else in the middle of a fight. But that button is for convenience. So we should be able to deactivate for others convenience
With a bit of coordination it will be terrifying. Especially that fakie where you dva bombed off point then catch it in the tp back on point. Because sym could cast it after dva throws it so theres no way to stop it, and if you over predict and focus sym to stop her you might still be in the open from the original bomb position!
you can throw snowball thru i think ! it registers it as a place able item so u have to land it directly on top of the teleported like syms turrets, same with sombras translocation
This is going to be hilarious in custom games too, you can make a hall of mirrors with a reinhardt or dva bomb bouncing through an entire map, like some scooby doo corridor chase scene
They never mentioned it ever being able to teleport projectiles so I'm not sure why you bothered with those? Also considering some of the ults you showed off being able to teleport I'm surprised you didn't also show other ones like bastion's, mercy's, or zen's. Speaking of bastion, this could be good for him; symmetra can help him by teleporting him to places he couldn't get to before, the shield can protect him in turret form, and if symmetra ends up being meta, his damage output can become very useful.
It teleports whenever it touches a teleporter. But only once. So you can throw your exit on the turret to bring it to Symmetra or you can place your entrance on it and have it pop up wherever you cast the exit.
The question I've been frequented is: can you teleport out of a Zarya's grav bomb? I think so, theoretically. But the teleporter has such little health it's not likely to work, what with all the enemy fire being suddenly focused on you.
So far the truly scary non-novelty tactic for this new teleporter are teleporting dva bomb, junkrat tire, and the Sentry Bastion. I think this new Sym might make Bastion meta because she can teleporter sentry bastion away from danger or to ridiculous vantage point behind enemy line at moments notice. I foresee a Bastion who can relocate to a far away place every once a while either away from danger or to ridiculous vantage point that normal Bastion can never hope to get to will be very rage inducing and might even be meta in the future.
But can you shoot dragonstrike through it? Like stand next to it and shoot the arrow through it before it turns into dragons without teleporting yourself? Can you throw pulse bombs through it? Also it feels wierd and arbitrary that dva's mech and riptire can be teleported but not other ultimates.
If an enemy rein has you pinned, can a teleported rescue you? You rein has someone pinned and he goes through his own teleported, what happens. If roadhog teleports with someone on his hook, will it automatically be interrupted or can it stay if there’s line of sight?
Seems like they only let Dva bomb and tire through because they mentioned it. They know sending gravs and Mei ults through is broken but it was too late for them to take back dva and tire.
You can teleport torb’s turret however you must place it first then sum has to get behind it and place her tele down on it you can also do it while in a molten core state
Time to make doing one hanzo ult complicated: you climb up a wall, activate Dragonstrike, lunge through the tp which ends you up on a roof, the lunge momentum is carried through and you fall to the ground shooting the dragon arrow straight into a zarya grav. If anyone can do this, and clip it send that to dabacabb and I want to see that in his video
I love this. this, along with the new Looking for group and role select thing will save overwatch, because lets get real here, Overwatch is slowly dying and the devs know it. But the biggest problem with Overwatch still remains but noone can actually fix it. The community is so toxic that it ruins the game for everyone, this at least goes for us Europeans and I heard, Americans too, although Europe is by far the worst. The Aussie community (Asia?) is so good compared to europe I almost wished I lived there so I could play with nicer people. I've just seen it on Loserfruit's videos back when she use to play Overwatch, mostly people there are so nice.
Did you try putting items onto the tp because syms turrets can be tp-ed as long as they are fired at its base, so maybe that would work for other items
Immobile heros can now get to cool spots you could usually only get to with movement abilities. I bet we start seeing teams hold the highest ground on first point Anubis and other areas.
If Tracer goes through the teleporter, the teleporter dies and then you hit recall (all w/i 3 sec. of course), do you still recall back even though there is no teleporter any more??? If not, where do you recall to??? Hmmmmmmm... What if Symmetra p[laces the teleporter somewhere else during this time also. Do you recall back through the teleporter to THAT location? That would be mad confusing (but kinda cool).
You recall to your exact location 3 seconds ago, no matter what. It will not be dependent on where the teleporter you went through was placed or if it's destroyed.
I think rip tire and Dva bomb are going to cause hell in future games but I think mei should at least be able to throw snowball through for a surprise freeze attack, my only other issue with this is that you should be able to change the direction that things come out of it because by the looks of things if you're a Reinhardt and put a teleporter behind a group of enemies to flank and then you charge through your going to continue charging out of the other teleporter away from the enemies, same with a Dva bomb because you could fire it through and it could just fly further away past enemies unless you placed the teleporter in front of a wall so it had something to hit to stop it going any further, rip-tire is fine because there's a lot more directional control to turn it around when it comes out of the teleporter but I think maybe you should be able to go in the teleporter and come out the other side in the opposite direction so that when you come out you are facing the enemies backs because if you go through and an enemy turns around then your back is facing them and before you turn around you could potentially be killed
Or if you can enter the teleporter from either side and it changes the direction you come out the other end then this would actually be fine but if there's only one entry side then there's only one option for direction you come out to attack, just means you would need to set up a teleporter then run around to the other side of it with your back facing the enemy just to come out facing their backs.
