Funny you should say it, spy is commonly agreed upon to be the weakest class of the game, due to the fact he relies entirely on stealth to survive, plus the somewhat janky knife hitbox, his cloak meter has a timer, and he can’t attack while cloaked, plus a Pyro can easily reveal an invisible spy and snuff him out-
Another thing about a spy is that there's a weapon/tool in the game for him to fake his death which its you like 1-2 second speed boost to escape in bad situations. Which most people use in the game. The tool/weapon is called dead ringer

Spy is an enigma, he feels awesome to play, he feels OP at lower levels, but in lobbies filled with decent players Spy is the weakest class hands down. He makes a sound when he leaves invisibility, new players won't notice it, but good players will. Good players also have the habit of turning around randomly because Spy's ability "backstab" requires the spy to be directly behind the target. It's a strange class where at some points you feel like a god but then at some points you feel like dead weight.
5:02 spy can't be invisible all the time. his default watch has a basic energy bar that depletes while invisible. once it's fully depleted spy's sillouette will be visible until he turns the watch off and then has to wait several seconds to be invisible for an extended period of time once again. there's also a watch called cloak and dagger which allows you to restore energy while invisible by standing still however it also comes with a downside of increased energy drain so if you want to stay invisible all the time with that watch it will take quite a while to cover greater distances. 6:07 this statement from lazy is a bit misleading... yes, spy can headshot but thats a feature exclusive to the ambassador revolver. the only other guns that can headshot are most of sniper's sniper rifles. with all that being said, thanks for checking it out!
Yo quick correction. The Inviswatch doesnt show spys sillouette when the energy bar is depleted. It basicly turns off and makes you visible again and after that you have to wait for it to fill up again (you can turn invisible at any point of the charge of the energy bar. the time invisible is based on the charge itself). The sillouette thing is from the cloak and dagger when it fully depletes while being invisible.
it doesn't show your silhouette if you run out, that's only on the cloak and dagger. also you can turn invisible at any time even if the meter isn't full, it's just that the time is dependent on the meter, plus you can decloak during it to save some of the meter
Some people like to compare spy to Sombra, as they both fill the same role of distraction. However, Sombra is much more aggressive than spy and has an easier time escaping situations. Because they are one in over twenty classes (idk the exact number, I don't play OW that much) people don't feel the need to "Sombra-check" as much as people Spy-check in TF2. Yes, spy can go invisible but unlike sombra, all of his tools for going invisible have a limited duration before they need to recharge. The only thing that changes is how they recharge. And his "hack" tool, the sapper, can only be used on Engineer's buildings, making him a direct counter to sentries.
Dead ringer is a special item for spy in which if he’s holding it and gets hit he leaves behind a fake body and fools the player that “killed him” it even shows in the kill feed that he “died” to the one who shot him
You cannot be invisible all the time*. With a stock loadout, your invis watch has a timed duration that you can remain unseen and it can be replenished by picking up ammo. However if you are bumped into by the enemy team you will flash becoming partly visible. This includes being shot accidentally or set on fire, hit with liquid, etc. It's meant to be used as a setup tool to get you behind the enemy, but Spy has virtually no survival tools to help him out with mobility or anything like that. He's very flimsy and easy to kill. Now he does have a couple of optional unlocks for his invisibility. The Cloak and Dagger replaces the standard invisibility watch with one that does let you remain invisible indefinitely provided you are not moving too much. If you stand still it does not drain your time, but you cannot pick up more ammo for it unless you de-cloak The Dead Ringer on the other hand is sort of the inverse of the other two watches. You activate it first but do not turn invisible. Instead, the first source of damage you take from anything will cause you to drop a fake ragdoll on the ground and turn you invisible with a burst of speed. You have a much more limited duration of invisibility and it is quite loud when you become visible again but the idea is to fool your enemy into thinking they already killed you. No matter the method though, if you are invisible, you can't do anything else save maybe kill someone by using a teleporter Spy is very risk vs reward, but the threshold for reward compared to risks taken is much higher than other classes. Sniper gets a lot of value by just existing and landing shots while being relatively safe from harm, whereas Spy almost always needs to be in the fray to get a kill and at risk of being mowed down himself.
Hey there. The Spy is actually one of the weakest classes in the game (if not the weakest). Yes he can turn invisible but he can only move around while it is active. Yes he can headshot but it is only with 1 of his unlockable weapons (the Ambassador) and a max damage headshot does 102 HP damage (compared to snipers minimum of 150 HP damage). He has low HP and dies easaly plus he doesnt have any movment options (like rocketjumping, doublejump, etc.). Spy is a pick class that (in competetive play at least) is mostly a get a kill and get killed type of class. In TF2 there is somesort of a rule about HP. If you are below 100HP you can be 1shot by basicly everything. Now there are multiple classes with 125 hp but spy is almost always behind enemy lines and if you are found there you die (bit of over exaguration but its easiest to understand this way) :)
I still don’t get why people still play overwatch I get that TF2 still has the batting crisis but still that’s not as bad as the amount of in game transactions by blizzard
