Was playing overwatch the other day after the recent patch, and I heard some quiet piano happening in the background. I was like, what is that? Then I realized it was theme music for the new hero in Overwatch, Sigma. The piece had some cool elements to it, but it almost seemed incomplete in a way. I filled it out with some transitions, cadenzas featuring a whole lot of octaves, and new material based on existing material.

This is phenomenal. I do think the point of the background music in game was to be unfinished, because Sigma himself is not all there. However, this completion of it.. it's like when he finally conquers his mental illness. It very much has that super villain vibe to me.

Im a bit late on this but I only found this video recently. I really like your idea of sigma conquering his mental illnesses. When I listened to this I was constantly picturing Sigma in the last Moments of his Life. Maybe he was deadly injured in a fight or something like that. He quickly knows that it's the end for him. While this Music is playing he talks to someone he loves, the "hero" who defeated him or even just to himself. He reflects on his Life, about things he did that hurt others, things he regrets and what he achieved. He passes his knowledge on to the person who's with him. In the end he is sad but accepts his faith. God dammit Overwatches Lore is so damn interesting I really wish they would do more with it. Hopefully someday it gets an adaptation as good as Arcane or Cyberpunk. They would definitely be able to do that.

It's definitely the Hungarian minor scale, also known as the double-harmonic scale, or gypsy scale!

I was kinda hoping for a high-register pianissimo return of the main melody at the last chord or two, but I that's probably just how I would compose it. Fantastic work! This is great stuff.

I feel like at a very chaotic part have 2 main melodies alternating between being main melody and not and then returning back to the original melody having “WHAT MELODY??” in mind

I have to admit, the arangment is great and it proves that you're a very talented pianist. However, I don't like the parts you've added, your "Chopin-romantic" style doesn't fit in that "Satie-modern-insane" style, it doesn't sound as mysterious anymore

Well, yes there's less mystery around the character in this part. However, I can feel the broken man sigma is. His mind, shattered by his experiences. Subject sigma, who's altering gravity around him, who's got his mind totally broken.

Isn't the tutorial in this one a little sarcastic? I mean is there anyone who plays well enough to play this and uses sythesia as their main musical notation? Edit: I do appreciate you making the synthesia versions, one day i'm gonna play it from here, you'll see in a few years. Also also, is the sound some modified midi or is it recorded live with a mic?

Well any tips on playing octaves?! Insanely fast at the end. Struggled with the octaves when I learned ur howls moving castle arrangement...:D

Try not to only use your thumb and pinky, work on 345 chromatics and then try to add your thumb as well

Octaves should be played with not just 1 and 5 fingers. We also have 3 and 4 to use ! (1 will always need to be used regardless, but you can get more speed and legato when adding 3 and 4 )
