Lucky enough to own both cars same year 2023. Lucid more luxury, more interior room style is subjective. Technology Tesla leads the pack. If your an early adopter buy Lucid. You wont be disappointed
The Lucid seems like a great product and beautiful, of course. That driveline noise seems really obvious though. And of course, if you drive a lot of miles as I do, you can’t really live on public CCS charging, sadly.
We loved our Air Touring test drive last Sunday. We'll be giving my current 2023 330e xDrive to our daughter next year so we'll likely get the Air Touring, fully loaded. I just wish I could lease but I can't because I drive well over the 15k/yr limit.
I’d go for a Stealth Lucid Air GT. For me it’s REALLY hard deciding whether to go for a white Model S Plaid or black, because a white one is more attractive if you know what I mean? More like luxurious and stuff, but the black is like a night Hawk at night.
@@RobertLeBlancPhoto Ya I have one, sometimes it doesn't bother me, other times it sounds louder than normal and I'm not sure if its a temperature thing or what.
Post Summary Summary! -- After a few days of thinking about it, as the Lucid Touring owner...if you look purely at driving experience, i'd say the Lucid wins from a driving dynamics perspective, but falls apart in driver ergonomics, as touched upon in the video, the visibility is worse, you feel like you're in a bigger car, steering wheel is too thick and weirdly oval, and the seats are loose around your waist, whereas the Tesla Model S is kind of the reverse! It has more confidence inspiring driving ergonomics, better seating position, more normal shaped steering wheel, little tighter seats, but is messy when it comes to dynamics. Bouncy, clunky, slower steering ratio, and jittery over small bumps.
I'm 20 minutes into this video and neither of you have fully stopped at a single stop sign! For goodness sake, the sign says "Stop," not "Slow down...." Thanks for the comparison. The Lucid is the closest thing to a Model S right now (maybe the new BMW i5 or a Merc EQE?), but this is the comparison to have. Tesla NEEDS to update the interior again and add a real leather option again. For this much money, vegan leather just doesn't cut it.
Thanks for watching. To be fair, 10:37-10:38 - complete stop. I cut the complete stop out from 16:38 to just show acceleration. 17:55 - yeah, the video looks like I rolled through a few of those but sub 1mph (car displayed as zero.). Fair criticism though. Agreed rE: interior - the plaid refresh was muuuuch better for 2021 but that was awhile ago now :)
Model S looks much sleeker and more aggresive. The Lucid really reminds me of a Lincoln. Lucid is doing terribly financially, the only thing keeping it afloat is the Saudi Crown Prince MBS investments. The charging network is also a mess with any EV other than Tesla sadly.
I mean, this is my 8th tesla and they've varied heavily. My 2019 Model 3 Performance was actually likely the best. Most of the panels on my Model S fit well, but the trunk was so bad, it leaked at first. This was as close as Tesla could get it and it's still pretty large. None of my German or Japanese cars have had this egregiously bad body panel fitment. *shrug*. It's old because it's true
