I work for Millis and make close to that without having to keep books. New truck every three years. Directv paid by company. XM radio paid by company. Get .10 a gallon to fuel if I fuel at there suggested fuel stop. .10 a mile per Diem. Vacation is last years gross pay divide by 52. That’s a full weeks pay for vacation not five days like most carriers.

you do not claim depreciation on leased equipment, you are not buying the truck. Better yet though, as a lease, you get to deduct 100% of the lease payments.

Yes, I speak with a standard American English accent. Certain accents like what you describe, or hillbilly southern are associated with lack of education and intelligence, and people will be biased against you based on that. Educated, intelligent people unlucky to have been born in a family and community that talks like that, will learn how to speak a more standard accent, otherwise people will never take them seriously. Would you go to a surgeon with a hillbilly accent? Do you know any black professionals or business leaders, or former presidents or presidential candidates that speak with a thick ebonics accent? No? Your accent is part of how you choose to present yourself to other people, and when you choose a low-class, uneducated accent, people will see you that way.
