I have Hashimotos. Every time i eat something with higher iodine(salt, seafood, seaweed) my nodule gets big i can barely swallow. itctriggers a flareup. my doctors told me i absoluteky cannot have iodine, not even synthroid. i can only have levothyroxin without iodine. I tested with electrodermal testing and my iodine levels are suuper low. my question is what should i do?

It's impossible to have a dinner party these day and get 6-8 people around table like people used to. Everyone is fanatically and proudly avoiding something, be it oxalates, meat, diary, legumes, nightshade family, grains, starches, nuts, saturated fats, eggs and on it goes.

So true!!! Gone are the care free days when a get together was a time of sharing best recipes and not be so focused on one's new diet or lifestyle. It was a time to ENJOY the moment with friends, loved one's, not impose opinions or ideas. Next day everyone would get back on their personal diet, wagon and life would have a beautiful memory of friends being together enjoying recipes, dishes, laughter, enjoyment of life, instead of certain food restrictions. 😢😢😢 ❤❤❤❤

My group of friends remains respectful of one another by acknowledging that we all have highly specialized dietary needs. We bring our own food to eat,and if we want to bring extra for others to partake of,we put the ingredients on a little index card. There are too many dangerous side effects in foods these days and especially if you’re getting up in years, can be fatal. What’s most important is gathering together, not complaining about food sensitivities.🥰

I was told I had GERD and given proton prohibitors, which made me worse. It took me 20 years to realize the veggies and fruits are making me sick from salicylates. None of my doctors ever asked me what I was eating...It is still hard to believe these healthy foods were/are making me sick. It's so hard to unbrainwash what you've learned for so long.

@@keshavrao212Fruits were originally genetically designed to be only eaten by animals that they were intrinsically evolved with. A perfect example is the Cassawary. A bird found in N.E Australia that only eats the fruit of certain plants in that area. No other animal on the Planet can eat those fruit because it will kill them. Also Cassowaries cannot eat anything else besides these fruits. Likewise with the Fruits we eat. we have genetically altered them to not only become more palatable but to remove a lot (but not all) of the toxins within them.

I've been almost 40 years vegetarian and at 64 I am extremely healthy, and I have a six-pack. What you didn't know among other things is that we are supposed to have gut bacteria that neutralizes the oxalates. Our modern lifestyle and the use of antibiotics affect our gut flora, so we lose the natural capacity to counteract the oxalates. Check out Oxalobacter formigenes.

OK, WELL, THAT MODERATION CONCEPT IS A SURE WAY PROMOTING GOING BACK TO A RABBIT HOLE OF DIETING AND GUILTY WITH EVERY FOOD BITE. You see, dear, I wish the moderation in diet was a successful life long, but one can never treat addiction by moderation. nevertheless, if one is not prone to addiction by nature, moderation is ideal. Does not work. Fish and chicken do not have enough fat and are not satiating. Dairy products cause inflammation, no matter how much you eat something that says it is lactose-free, like 24-hour yogurt or aged cheese, there is still something there and causes inflammation in the digestive system. Butter gives prostate cancer. Pork has parasites and other diseases, it's no wonder that Jews haven't eaten it for thousands of years. To obtain fat to fry eggs and meat, you can place beef ribs in the pressure cooker and fry and then add water and leave under pressure, you will have meat and oil for later frying.

I went heavy on sweet potatoes and spinach when I did Whole 30 several years ago. During my oxalate dumping last year, I learned about oxalates from Sally’s videos and added a cup of tea every other day. The symptoms cleared and I feel great. Don't you need carbs to rebuild your glycogen reserves ? As a bodybuilder, I tried keto, but I felt very bad in less than a week. It seems that carb cycling works very well in my case (3-4 meals low on carbs or even zero-carb, followed by a carb reload). I guess we have to experiment, since a diet can be good or bad depending on your gut health, your physical activities, your stress, and so on.

@@matthieusavary983 you don't need to ingest carbs for glycogen stores if you eat enough protein and fat. When you deplete glycogen, you use stored fat for energy as ketones, and any protein that isn't needed for muscle and other tissue repair, is converted to glucose by gluconeogenesis, excess is stored as glycogen, and overeating protein is bad because what cannot be stored as glycogen is converted and stored as fat. Loved the video. One thing I would say is muscle cramps or spasms are mostly caused by a lack of magnesium. Look up what this essential mineral does, its muscle relaxant for one thing. Especially if you're exercising and have a good love life, you will be low on magnesium and potassium and zink. Which will make you feel low and lack of energy. . Q10 and adding foods steamed high in zink fish shell fish etc and Amino acids will really help. Really worth remembering. 😊

You have to do your due diligence. Don't try to do the easy way out. What Dr. Sally eats is particular to her condition and her history of eating and the level of toxicity her body has stored. Each of us is unique, and as such we have to adapt in unique ways. Start paying attention to your body for clues. Start slowly because this is not a game and you can really mess yourself up if you don't do it properly.

In generally, for me, and many the answer is pretty simple. Keto. So low carb and healthy fats like wild fish, steak, light on chicken, sea food and low starch Veg., Garlic, Onion (raw only for both), etc. Make a list. Google Lectins, Oxalates and limit the big offenders. Drink water. Check your glucose at home. Start running. If you this, you will be way ahead of the pack. Don't drink or smoke.

Just my opinion: Although some might not be able to eat food with oxalate or just choose not to. Those who do, make sure to lower consumption. Here are some tips: - cook, simmer, steam or boil food, heavy with oxalate, before eating (throw the cooking water away) . - The calcium in yoghurt, kefir, cream cheese and co. will help bind the oxalate before finally digesting. You can also use millet or tahin (anything with calcium). - You can additionally peel if possible as the most oxalate is often under the skin of the food. We have oxalobacter in our gut to help eliminate this. But 3-5% will be left to be absorbed by our kidneys, so do not over do it with the oxalate. Overdoing it can cause kidney-stones, as mentioned.

Missing "Akkermansia muciniphila" leads to "Leaky gut" which leads to increased absorption of oxalates, toxins and etc. There are much more strains that are also so valuable for your whole health. Oxalates are an issue only if you consume high oxalates foods for long periods of time, and your calcium intake it low. Most people won't get bothered. Avoiding the very high oxalate foods will be enough. No idea why would some promote animal products for this issue, it's not sustainable for 10billion people to go carnivore, but hey, they don't, ain't required. Which is a good thing! For each100g of any high oxalate foods: spinach, rhubarb, sesame, almonds, chocolate, or many other high oxalate foods - you could eat 10kg of lentils to get similar oxalate intake. Plenty of plant-based foods are low in oxalate. The awareness spreading on oxalates is life saving though, i highly appreciate the work.
