I’ve followed a low oxalate diet for 10 years. I gave them up when the smoothies i was drinking made with spinach gave me such bad vertigo I thought I was having a stroke. I had already given up histamine foods and lectins. With all of those gone I hardly had a single problem. No vertigo, no pressure in my ears, no stuffy nose, no inflamed throat. Life was good! But then I started giving up the rest of the vegetables and save fruit for special occasions. I feel even better! I’ve rarely been able to breathe out of my left nostril - my entire life it’s been stuffed up. But with carnivore, I can breathe out of both nostrils. No mouth breathing! I feel like I’m breathing deeply for the first time! It makes me joyous! Breathing is cool! And I fast 18 hours most days. I feel great. I love not thinking about food all the time. I love not living in recovery from my last meal. Food doesn’t have to destroy us?! Who knew?! I KNOW now.

I eat mostly eggs, butter, beef, some chicken, some fish, water, salt. I still eat some candy now and then. I don’t eat anything in the bean family. I don’t eat grains or pasta. Look into Dr Lustig on avoiding fructose and Dr McDougall on The Starch Solution- starches like rice, potatoes, and oats break down into glucose not fructose. Carnivore is just an elimination diet. I'm 50 and did Keto about 3 years ago, overloaded on oxalates as you describe above. I ate Keto for about 12 months, by the end of that period, ended up in hospital 3 times with heart arrhythmia's AF and VF. These episodes would last up to an hour, almost died once. Feared to drive as might pass out... for about 6 - 8 months this went on. Took about 12 to 18 months to finally get rid off (including heavy oxalate dumping). Discovered myself that oxalates were a problem. The heart specialist had no idea why I was getting these issues. No one asked about diet, my cardiovascular system was healthy, so no one could figure it out. I thought it was electrical.... turns out Oxalates bind with calcium (an electrolyte) and there's the start of your problems including kidney stones etc. From the 1850s through the early 1900s, oxalate poisoning was well-recognized. Back then, it was referred to as Oxalic Acid Diathesis. The other two contributing factors are Artificial Sugars and Glyphosate. Artificial sugars such as Sucralose destroy your healthy gut bacteria, which leads to numerous issues. Glyphosate present in foods, sprayed at home, sprayed on crops to dry them out before harvest, is known to affect gut health, Sulphation and may produce endogenous Oxalates, plus who knows what else. MY advice is don't do any type of extreme diet, however Healthy Variety is key with a leaning toward Carnivore. I avoid high oxalate foods, a little of medium ones. I now eat Eggs, meat, Sauerkraut, fruit, a little vege/bread/dairy and try to avoid as much processed food as possible.

Jason thank you for your wealth of information. Never did keto, but had kidney stones due to dehydration and mass oxcaltes consumption. Trying to educate myself and leaning more toward what you explained is now your eating lifestyle. My husband and I started Keto about 4 years ago, as seems to be the norm we dramatically increased nuts, seeds, dark chocolate etc..I made bread out of ground flaxseed, Almond flour, chia seeds and others and added turmeric and black pepper too! We ate loads and loads of salad and cruciferous veggies! I started having bladder issues, went to doctor, had scans etc nothing showing up as being wrong with me. It seemed to come and go at that point, then April last year it became really bad (I was suspecting I now had interstitial cystitis) after research I heard about some sufferers going on a low oxalate diet....anyway I started Carnivore to see if it could help - I have a friend who was carnivore and it helped her. Within a month I felt so much better in lots of ways. I find I have to be on the lion diet to be okay. 9 months later I'm a lot better, still some sensitivity every now and then (probably when I'm oxalate clearing) but I feel so much better most of the time. Same here, I started low carb/sugar in January. Ate a lot of almond butter, nuts, dark chocolate, and broccoli. Two weeks ago, I added some chia seeds and flax seeds into my diet and woke up one day with severe pain I thought might be kidney stones. Went to the doctor and blood work had shown high BUN levels (blood urea nitrogen). My historical BUN levels had been very normal and predictable in previous blood tests. Luckily, all other kidney function labs were very good. And other than the BUN being high, all cholesterol numbers improved markedly as well as liver function compared to my lab history.

Specifically, 6-10 cups a day of salad - Lettice, tomato, cucumber, onion, olive oil, a little red wine vinegar and a few spices. After surgery, I fasted mostly because I was afraid to go and reinjure myself. Slowly, I began eating meat. But suspected the veggies had made me sick. Sure enough, you know the story. Then I thought - what can disolve calcium ? The light came on that apply vinegar would ! When I had in the past had an itchy pee, I knew stones were trying to form From that day, I have taken half a glass of apply vinegar for a couple days and the stones disappeared. Very simple but effective solution to the problem One trick I use to drink this horrible tasting liquid I have figured out is to use a STRAW, that way it never passes by my taste buds and goes straight down my throat.

Our ancestors used to have techniques that they prepared foods with to make them more edible (such as sprouting grains and seeds, culturing/fermentation, also food combining - eat this with this not that, but other techniques as well). The book Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon educates in how to use the forgotten techniques of our ancestors. Also the late Dr. Weston Price (look up his foundation online) studied food preparation from around the world back in the day and demonstrated the superior health of those who used those food preparation techniques. These time-tested techniques remove or transmute anti-nutrients from food and/or make them more digestible bioavailable.

I've been researching vegetables EXTENSIVELY and had a conversation with ChatGPT about fermented vegetables. The problem with fermentation is that it significantly increases histamine. So for me, this is a dead end for me.....somewhat. There ARE low histamine foods you can ferment but it's recommended to do a lactic acid ferment or pickling, also do a "quick" ferment. Also choose low histamine foods to ferment. So far microgreens are turning out to be really low in oxalate, I'm not sure on the histamine of them (still researching). There are also foods you can pair with high histamine foods to buffer the negative effects.

Thank you so much for raising awareness about the dangers of oxalates. Like the other commenter, I also almost killed myself eating what I thought was a superfood based diet. For several years I drank a large green smoothie each day, ate lots of nuts, large salads, etc. In my case, my bladder wall got so thick as a result from this diet that I had to urinate about every 20 minutes, and with great pain each time. What's worse is that my doctors had no idea what was gong on. I went to 10 doctor's who performed all kinds of tests including a CT scan to check for cancer, with no sign of any problems. Six months ago I ran across this information on RU-vid and with nothing to lose, I converted to a mostly carnivore diet. At first my symptoms got worse, which apparently is very common as the body starts to dump oxalates. Then after a few weeks my severe symptoms started to get better. I'm now about 70% back to normal with some minor issues remaining. Apparently it can take up to two years to fully recover from oxalate poisoning. So I'm now concentrating on eating very high quality, organic meats , fish, eggs, and I'm now back to eating vegetables that are low in oxalates.

You asked what type of plants. You would be surprised! I have "The Lost Book of Herbal Rememdies". I just got it as my son gave me it for Christmas. My husband has an oozing skin cancer spot on his back that we are waiting for it to be removed. I looked in the book for skin cancer and what was readily available in winter to me was cabbage! Yes, a cabbage poultice. The oozing area is shrinking. Plant medicine is great and plants have been only medicine to us for a year now. Totally carnivore except for garlic and 100% sea salt.

This interview is now saved to a Carnivorish playlist I made to reference back to ❤️ It helped me understand why after a few weeks on mostly meat the chronic pain flared up! I’ve been in pain for 10 years and was concerned for the future (I’m 45). I had intensely tight muscles from the lower back to my feet. I balked at Keto when I recently researched for an anti inflammatory diet as I’d tried it before - that was when weight loss was my motivation and having been a yo-yo dieter for 20 years it didn’t do my mental health/binge eating/orthorexia disorder any favours. Thanks to that Google search though, the next time I opened RU-vid Laura Spath’s Carnivore journey was on the home page and I’m glad I watched it. Over the last month I’ve naturally transitioned from Ketovore to Carnivore as I’ve learned what doesn’t sit well with my body and what I preferred to cook. Meat is so simple! The first three weeks I would get sick of meat-based eating and now that has gone away, as has most of my back/hip pain. It’s been amazing feeling my muscles soften and relax! My rock-hard backside has a jiggle 😅 And if I deviate from Carnivore? My body shows me pretty quickly what’s what. I’m learning not to beat myself up and chock it down to learning experiences…like the premium chocolates I was given this week…I should have passed it on or thrown it out. They did not taste good and the way my body expels them doesn’t feel good 🤣 The way my body feels and the confidence I’ve gained with this WOE is life changing. Being pain free is now my motivation and the weight loss will be a happy side effect. Thank you for sharing your insight, experience and knowledge with us!

Then you go on to a so-called healthy lunch of a big fat salad with maybe chicken breast and whatever dressing and then you go to dinner and you’re eating a sweet potato or Chicken breast and spinach or broccoli and you’ve just overloaded yourself with oxalates and a low quality protein. The most nutrient dense food on earth is beef. They always point to this. Oh eat chicken breast and broccoli. No no no don’t do that. For several years now, I have been observing multiple hard nodules of about 5 mm in diameter along the entire tibia on both legs. I painfully tried to crush them with a wooden roller for years without success. It was not difficult to logically understand that it was a blocked lymph nodes. At the beginning of their creation years ago, one of the first ones caused me pain after a long tour. Even then, I lost faith in doctors, so I solved things my own way. I decided to cut it out. It looked like a pearl (that's why I assumed it was a lymph node) and when I cut it open, I discovered something like sand inside. It would not be possible to crush it in millions of years.The first thing that came to my mind was calcium. I didn't know anything about oxalates, so I concluded that I drink too much hard water, and due to my slow metabolism (Hashimoto's), my lymphatic system doesn't work efficiently. Now I know what exactly it is about. I've been experimenting with a "healthy diet" since I was a teenager. Today, I again verified 5 long-known knots on my neck. I've been on the Carnivore diet since January. I only have three of them and they are much less tangible. I am very happy that finally in my 50s I will heal the nodules and lipomas on my legs. Eventually a clot came out so I went to a hospital because I feared bladder infection. I got a CT scan and they said whatever it was had passed. Unfortunately I didn't catch the stone so I wasn't sure it was an calcium oxalate type. So I took a wild guess and eliminated the only high oxalate foods I ate: chocolate/cocoa, almonds, beets, peanuts, kiwifruit, white beans and whole grains. I had what was thought a cal oxalate stone about 20 years ago in one of my ureters. I learned ACV and citrus juices helped dissolve stones. I got it to pass dissolved with ACV and lemon juice. Dr was stunned as I was prepped for surgery. Asked me if I was straining my urine. I told him I had seen nothing but had sensed it was gone. Close call. I didn’t know about oxalates then but years later I noticed a back ache and little blood in urine. The red light came on and I found out about oxalates thru SK Norton. Changed my diet about 6 years ago and been good. I found it amazing how the body can clear out some things quickly like using ACV or lemon juice. I’ve done several rounds of oxalate detox in the few years since. Each time I’ve had a dumping after a few weeks using cal citrate, mag and potassium supplements. Read Toxic Superfoods by Norton … it’s amazing. Your body takes a beating for a lifetime with anti nutrients and it takes time to recover. Years unfortunately. I’m still chipping away at this at 70. And yes, milestones (haha) get reached each time. I’m close to carnivore these days. Meats and fish. Few greens… lettuce and cilantro… few berries, green peas, squash, herbs and alliums (onions and garlic) all of which I grow. Life is good with no meds.

I had to have two hip replacements, 10 years apart. The last surgery was about 3 years ago, and I also had bursitis at the same time. I suffered with the arthritis for several years before I got the surgery. I have had issues with my thyroid as well. Oh wow! I thought I was the only one who noticed that! That green smoothies are not healthy! We been lied to! And I’ll never drink another one again! I don’t know whether it’s just a coincidence or not, but a nerve or muscle problem in my neck started only a few days after first starting the famous 10 day green smoothie cleanse a few years ago. It was scary when all of a sudden I got this intense I don’t know what in the left side of my neck during a moment of holding my head down. But it was at that moment when it started for the first time, while I was doing the 10 day green smoothie cleanse. I lost weight on it just as it promised, but now with a new problem with my neck. And keeping the lost weight off was impossible bcuz I notice more hunger when consuming veggies. I done the cleanse several times, and although I since went keto for a couple of years and then transited to carnivore almost a year ago, and despite all of the improvements in my body with carnivore, that problem with my neck that started on the green smoothy cleanse is still with me now. What’s going on with my neck right now sort of feels like a neck stone.

Don't think there is an issue with plants as medicine, just many carnivores don't see them as food for the most part. We certainly ate whatever we found edible to survive throughout our history.
@mitsanut5869
@mitsanut5869 3 месяца назад
If you refer to history and what we ate, eating greens and plants would be probably dead last on the menu of our ancestors going all the way back to when our species entered it's present body structure. Cultivating grains hasn't started until about 12 thousand years ago, and those were only two seed grains, loaded with nutrition. Vegetables as we know them now didn't exist until quite recently, and most certainly, no wide variety of them that we can find in the stores today, and not in the form we buy them. So the logical conclusion would be first hunting for a small game, then with invention of spears and arrows hunting and eating large game or fish. Dr. Cheffey is explaining how eating cultured grain and vegetable diet low on meat affected our strength, decreasing skull, jaw and skeleton size throughout millennias to the point where our femur bones got shorter almost five inches in comparison with skeletons examined in archeological finds. My own logic based on my limited knowledge of our species history tells me that before we started to cultivate crops, we ate meat predominantly, eggs, we drank milk from animals that produced it, and we ate seasonal fruits that were typical for the geographical location we lived in. There are primitive tribes in Amazon Forrest that eat only one kind of fish, they eat it only once a week and they are very healthy. Correct me if I'm wrong but there's literally no old surviving tribe on Earth that feeds itself with food that we eat in modern societies. They survive on meat and fruits mostly, while they use Forrest plants as remedies for injuries, infectious or poisonous bites by different animals. We have their bodies, so we should look at them as an example of what and how to eat. It's actually quite simple

It amuses me how often any given food becomes "bad" for us to eat. Eggs are good, eggs are bad, coffee good, coffee bad, all meat diet good, all meat diet bad, vegan this, vegan that, blah blah blah. Just eat food and be thankful you have anything to eat at all. There is no singular diet. We are omnivores. The one diet everyone needs is less bullshit fads from the internet. It tends to be that if you look for the answer you want you will find it or you can ask 10 different experts and get 10 different answers. The reason we are omnivores is because we are not specialists, we are generalists. If you can eat it, then eat it. All foods work together to support the body's ability to digest and help cancel out or remove toxins. That is also why we learned to cook our food because it breaks a lot of things down to be easier to digest and absorb nutrients or remove toxins in the process. I would be more likely to trust a culture in a Blue Zone who has eaten the same diet and experiences longevity than someone from the internet who got their PhD in Internet Advertising Revenue.

As a teenager many years ago, I had raised lumps on my legs that were red and painful. At that time my sister who had rheumatoid arthritis was under the care of an amazing Naturopath and in those days they were called quacks! This amazing guy told me to have hot baths for 30 mins and then to run freezing cold water into the bath so it was really cold and to do this every day for a week. The result was stinging hot urine and the lumps disappeared and I felt so much better. I think the body in its wisdom if it’s not overburdened with toxins will dump these poisons into the extremities well away from the heart and vital organs as in gout. Much of this man’s knowledge is now mainstream which is great news. Thanks for this video, I had no idea that oxalates were in so many foods other than the obvious ones, time to tweak my diet again.🤗

I think what Elliot points out that he may not be emphasizing enough for those who are looking to validate a diet including veg, is that vegetables of today are NOT the plants our ancestors were consuming medicinally in small doses. It is well documented how the food industry has bred out those qualities in order to get their customers to consume copious amounts. Thus (as he stated) why they contain far more sugars and or dulled down bitter tastes; things that would be natural deterrents to the pallet. Plenty of whistle blowers out of the industry have testified to the fact that their mission was to make foods more addictive whether they were good for us or not in order to sell more product. People should investigate this side of its history. It is wise to remember the old adage that "plants are medicinal, meat is nutritional"!

Wow! 👍🏆That was an eye opener excellent informative video! Knew sorta about oxalates, but not in way described here. That may help explain a sudden aversion I took to spinach (which ate in large weekly quantity as a norm (for health/nutrition) till about 2 or so years ago and haven't wanted fresh (or any) spinach since. Tried to reintroduce and physically seemed like a food you knew you no longer wanted, I mean really didn't want, not just a taste thing, not at all -or ate since past 18 or so months. And as well not purposely but other foods I consumed high in oxalates were not favored along same period and not reintroduced to diet. And this all seemed took place along time health took a severe tumble (aches pains inflammation in joints) And strangely I actually liked it, and greens in general most all my adult life. ...Maybe not the cause too for the aversion, but makes me stick a pin 📌in that to come back too, for further information . To hear/read more on subject. Thank you so much, that was very informative (helpful-valued) puts maybe a face to something that has baffled me, as I did like fresh spinach! And ate it often. And haven't bought any in at least 18 months as I can now recall, but for because of this strange aversion I suddenly had. 🏆👍 P.S [I]am Carnivore as of today 90 days, and as to greens, are no longer an issue. Life is 180° better. 70 years old, went from near bed bound, due to RA mobility pains and aches primarily in joints so spent nearly 20-22 hours of most days last 18-24 months but for a few in bed. To now, totally too much to be believed in 90days, but 100% true. More active that even I can't hardly believe the rebirth of my body, even bought a mountain bike around day 70 still getting my agility and near atrophied muscle to come back on line to riding it more...use to love outdoors and biking and jogging city and in mountains till health just kept taking each away little by little last decade or two. Do yard work now that was a big deal wanted to but couldn't last 12 months, and as well got ideas for living life today...that was not in the scope of my reality 3 months ago. On the square said and meant. Dr Berry, Chaffee, Baker Mason's videos and guests on their channels such as yourself Rina, with you guest Elliot Overton on oxalates, and only because I caught a video interview of you Rina recently that was posted by Dr. Chaffee's channel is what led me for over a 90 day journey to this amazing past 90 days of extreme rebound in my health and mental acuity turning clocks back at least 15 years for me, since beginning with Dr. Berry's 90 Day Keto-Carnivore challenge ...and those not knowing me may find hard to believe my come back...as did my own family doctor of 20 years, but the evidence was me "live". He was astonished! Lost some weight of course, but more than that I was like a live wire of renewed energy and positive uplifting attitude. Love the entire genre of Carnivore related videos. Each one has a nugget in it I mine these days for better healthy well-being and to pass it forward by sharing what I found. I am but a lay person not credentialed but a sure testimonial, it works and not quackery. Love passing on the kudos comments if for no other reason than to show what you all do really does matter! One improved life at a time...90 days ago I was circling the drain waiting for my end to come...NOT TODAY! 🙃🤗 who knew! Or could have guessed?🏆👍

@@versewriter8123 Happy to answer your question and hope I do. And honored that you would ask. I wish I had the magical answers to say this or that is right, or that food is to be cautiously avoided. Rather all I have to offer you is two answers...the short version answer, (which is already growing too long because of wanting to say the right "helpful" thing ) and the much longer wordy version one, (will only give you if requested that you may want to read)... [but]that as well might be helpful in its own way hopefully, but maybe not too...think your better off with this version🙂. Ether way you come out a winner for just merely posing your inquiry question. So all in all, that's a pretty good return.(humor implied). The past 6 weeks, maybe upwards of 8, have not eaten any fruits whatsoever, nor vegetables for maybe 11 weeks now. Only been at this for 98 days now. Still learning as I go. And the benefits in only 98 days have been enormous (for me). Had I not been the person this was happening to I would say the person is exaggerating or trying to sell me something. But wonderful things beyond my thoughts and imagination, that were even still possible for me, that I might ever enjoy again have come out of storage and I am dusting off, and taking advantage of this kinda strange rebirth of sorts. The clock feels like it has been rolled back easily 10-15 years physically, and easily 20+ years on my mental acuity... that is absolutely remarkable and this is only day 98! But to your question. I have discovered many of us (mostly over the 50 year mark and as well some much younger) have various developed in their adult lives health issues. And like a person who suddenly discovers and nailed down they have developed an intolerance or a heightened sensitivity to products containing say gluten, that in years past may have never raised a thought and they did fine eating such foods containing gluten in moderation, but can't any longer without the attached health related consequences that flare up and to bear for several days afterward. And if they did have a reaction in past years at some point in time(s) were unaware what was the source...maybe just chalked it off to Aunt Martha's fresh loaf of homemade bread they were given, or some such scenario. However, I am only recently finding older people are indicating they no longer are able to enjoy various foods that in the past seemed absolutely harmless. Have heard that over the years from older people when I was young expressed to me, back then I ate almost anything and was healthy but now these days I find I too have joined their ranks! And sing like a natural in their choir. But kinda get it today (understand why)....the why part. But here is worth looking into. If you want to know more. Dr. Paul Mason video where he talks about "Lectins", in fruits and vegetables and beans. ...and besides Dr Mason there are a couple...quite a few actually, who are academically trained most highly credentialed and revered by their colleagues, researcher/scientists -and others on that and other Keto-Carnivore subject related genre. Well worth the time to watch the videos as time and mindset allows, many of the videos go back to 2012 or so...some are podcast, some are taken directly at conferences etc. And as well see subjects on "oxalates", which are found in some vegetables in high amounts. But if you watch the videos listen to how they seem to get in our bodies that ultimately do the damage they do over time.that seems to be the key with most of this inflammatory stuff is not so much the day or two afterward effects, but over time how they finally do the kind of damage that makes us so sensitive to the fruit or vegetables at all for indulging in a harmless memory lane nostalgic meal. That may undo more than you realize. Another story. Both these two items (for me) have proven worth their weight in gold to know and understand not to merely identify. By all accounts in past 2-3 years I have apparently crossed over the (invisible) threshold in what my own body will tolerate today and what it is highly sensitive to. Various foods high in oxalates and lectins seemed to be front and center for me personally. I used to eat vegetables and fruits high in both, did so most of my life, in good quality nearly daily and a food choice of low as possible in fats, yet ate copious amount of leaner meats, poultry, fish, and seafood. But it was the vegetables and fruits that were slowly taking me down with the high carbs in my diet, and manufactured oils the body is really not built for. I am surprised not dead at my own hands eating as I have over the last 2 decades. Suspect I may have developed a "leaky-gut" as described, in various videos I have now watched, over the years and it has finally caught up with me. But God as my witness this Carnivore diet I am eatin now and began as Keto-Carnivore 98 days ago has been reversing what I thought was not in the cards for me ever. Diet or no diet. And wasn't looking/shopping for on when stubbled onto this. But if you are looking for better health this is highly recommended you put your all into it. Follow the academics who are of and on the related genre. And be weary and eyes open for those that say you can do it all in moderation...might be some truth to that if your young right up till you get to be about 35-45 years old and slowly the body's workings are getting stressed so regularly in an aging system trying to process out what you may today want to avoid. Hope I was helpful? Sorry for the wordiness. But it is all on the square. Best to you on your own journey. Thanks for asking my input. 👍

At 70 it would be reasonable to assume I had arthritis. I persevered and the symptoms passed. I now think it was oxylate dumping. Jordan Peterson had a really severe health episode. When asked what caused it he shrugged his shoulders and said who knows. I am convinced he was severe oxylate dumping. Anyway getting back to the hydrogen issue. Gut bacteria like fermentable fibre. This is what I am doing carnivore diet but with added low oxylate fruit and vegetables. My idea is to never get enough carbohydrates to live on therefore I have to burn fat and therefore produce ketones. The Brain likes ketones. A key point is are you farting if not up the veg. One last thing I have ADHD and it seems to not be a problem now. I don't think ADHD is a disability quite the opposite I think the problem is modern diets.

I love listening to elliot. He talks fast but has soooo much information and is passionate and knowledgeable about his subject. Although you may not feel like you gad to interview much, you just need a little trigger with him and off he goes wirh all the info. Its great. Ive listened to him a number of times and this pulled a lot of things together gor me having done both keto, and lost a lot of lovely hair and carnivore and never stopped with the diarrhoea. It comes to mind that old tribes climb mountains for honey once in a while, and heat, ferment, grind, preserve. They soon found out what was and wasnt hood. Whilst we seek optimum health, our body seems to manage well with little bits here and there. Rarely absolutes unless you have to. Its all soooo complicated for an indivudual to learn eg i just read about the difficulties for some where the consumtption of just red meat on the carnivore meant they had an iron problem, albeit maybe genetic. Mind blowing but we try our best as individuals so thank you for the interview. The topic of food and diet has become like religion and politics , if you try and discuss people can be ultr defensive and aggressive so ive learnt not to to answer even the seemingly innocuous question as it may illicit a full on reaction. So it was great to hear a view that was not absolute, black and white, that considered the pros and cons, ie that is what we all need to do x

The key to most of this has been balance in what we do to care if the body

Some places say cumin is high in oxalates, some places say cumin is low in oxalates. I'm confused on that one. (Edit: this is the best interview/explanation of oxalates I've seen yet. ...Thank you! I'm going thru severe oxalate dumping, and I really need to properly slow it down!)

@@dsmith5600 Ya ironically I just found that out yesterday... me & my husband take turmeric supplement practically daily. It clears up so much of his jointpain & helps him play golf regularly - he could barely even grip the golfclub. We'll probably continue using it since we're so close to 100% on this diet

Many Carnivores still use various herbs and spices for their hormetic effect, including myself. That’s what I love in this community, we each do our individual Proper Human Diet 🥩

I have an attraction to bitter, sour and acidic things outside of my carnivore mainstay. I like the bitter skins of plums, bitter yoghurts, darkest chocolate and apple cider vinegar. I think we nuked the bitter-esque attraction of the palette when we hammered people with sugar.

One thing jumps out to me in listening and reading the great comments is how spoiled we are with the varieties of food and spices etc is available to us. I often think thats also part of the issue that should be considered. A simplier diet that is seasonally based should be considered also.
