Oxalis acid is a great chemical actually. Its the only acid I have seen that will remove rust stains from concrete as well as muriatic acid without the fumes

Okay, but don't you need to neutralize it afterwards? Also what's the mix ratio? I learned nothing from this

The instructions says to use Borax to neutralize, hope this is helpful!

Thanks, chris. We still cannot find this anywhere around us. Had to use home depots super diluted deck cleaner finally but at least it worked on our cedar deck/fence.

IMPORTANT: This video is extremely incomplete. • Start with 1/2 cup Oxalic Acid added to 1 gallon of water. Add more Acid if needed. ALWAYS add Acid to water, not the reverse. • Rinse Rinse Rinse with water when done, then Rinse again. Leaving Oxalic Acid on the wood could destroy your wood.

Hello, does this simply remove stains, of can it be used to bleach wood?
@chriscodrington5464
@chriscodrington5464 5 лет назад
has been used as a wood bleaching agent for hundreds of years...removes mineral stains in slabs and can be used to blend contrast in plank floors etc

+PennyQuest Reading the subtitles can do wonders - have a look at 0:23 / 1:33. How to mix it? Be creative and think about what you've learned as a kid. Powder + water and stir it up. Grtz

+| Call me whatever you want I must have blinked and missed that part, there was a lot to read, see and listen to. I was primarily listening. I actually purchased quite a bit of the powder and am working with my own ratios. Thanks for the helpful video.

John Adams you can nesutrilse with bicarbonate solution
@JillofAllTrades2

Makes sense. Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is an acid neutralizer (it's mildly alkaline) and is the active ingredient in Alka Seltzer: The stuff we use to relieve acid indigestion :)

@bubayou
@bubayou 8 лет назад
Useless !! Does not tell you what the water acid ratio is and how to rinse the wood after you apply it. So I will, I use an 8 to 1 solution of Water to Acid let soak for not more than 30 min then rinse with an 8 to 1 solution of Water to baking soda and let dry over not. Sand lightly and do it again if required. Can't Help it don't like secrets !
