I've made four already, I have another cut out. I have a sewing room full of not so cute upholstery fabrics that have been perfect for the large tote. The pattern reminds me of a carpet bag, it's a wonderful pattern.
Thanks so much, you are such a great teacher, you have such great tips. Yes it’s a lot of info, and opt, but I apothem all. I just finished my first one and oh.em.gee I’m in LUUUUV! Thank you Anna. Wonderful pattern, and tutorials ❤️
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. I love all of your tutorials. I’m glad that you made one for this one so I don’t have to search out somebody else that made one of this bag because you are an excellent teacher. I hope sometime you might make some more tutorials with some of your other bags, thank you again
Great video series…thank you! I have never made a bag before and have read and re-read the instructions. I’m confident I will be able to successfully make a bag using your detailed instructions and videos. Thanks for making this available to all of us!
Thank you so much for this sew along video and all of the other videos you take the time to produce! I learn tips all along the way that are so helpful. My daughter and I are going to be making the Oxbow together next week. Your bag and wallet designs are all so sleek and simply beautiful. Thank you!
Thanks for the great tutorial……you are so calm and thorough. I just ordered the pattern and can’t wait to start! BTW, just a note about pressing waterproof canvas……..I always press it ….both with an iron and a heat press . I press right side up with a Teflon sheet covering the WPC. It works great. I’ve been doing it for 3 years and have never had a problem. However, I always use the same brand of WPC so I can’t say how it would work for other brands. I would test it on a small piece.
I can’t wait to start my bag now that I’ve watch the videos. Your bag came out awesome. Tomorrow I’ll decide on fabrics and start. I’m so excited. You videos were very informative. I have the confidence that I’ll be able to make a beautiful bag as well. Thank you.
What another great Video to support your patterns, I always watch your tutorials, they really are some of the best on You Tube. Thank you for taking the time to share.
Just finished, my first bag (well beyond trick-or treat totes)! I'm a confident sewist of children's dresses but not much else, so it was fun to expand my skills! I'll have to find another pattern to make my kiddos a backpack or dance bag, this is so fun!
Anna, I received my package today! So happy to be able finish my overnight bag. Quick question, can you tell me the tool you use to create the holes for your snap? It appears at 9:10 in the video. Thank you and thank you for the wonderful pattern and tutorials.
Hi Darcy, yes, that's my rotary punch tool (it punches in several difference sizes in one tool). I got mine many years ago, but here's a link: tandyleather.com/products/craftool-pro-rotary-leather-punch?_pos=2&_sid=2faac4d57&_ss=r
Quick question. The pattern states to clip the corners after sewing closed the boxed corners but I didn’t see that it the video. Should we clip those at an angle or clip out a square next to the stitches or just skip altogether?? Thx!!
You can clip them at an angle (or skip it - it's a large enough bag where it doesn't quite make as much difference as a smaller project). Either works!
Thank you! I've been getting mine from Sullivan's Trim: sullivanstrim.com/collections/solid-wpc I know Emmaline Bags also carries similar: emmalinebags.com/collections/canvas-all-kinds/products/nylon-pack-cloth-400-denier-dwr-urethane-coated I know there are more shops, but I've personally shopped with these two. :)
Hello, I bought the pattern, but I couldn't figure out how many cm the cross strap and bag handles are, can you help me? I commented on Instagram but I can't send a DM.
Hello, it's on page 3 of the PDF file, under the Cutting Instructions column, the cuts are listed under each specific webbing width (ie From 1.5"/38mm - wide webbing). If you have any other questions you can email us via our Contact page on our website: noodle-head.com/pages/contact
The lengths to cut are under each webbing heading (on page 3, the right hand column almost at the end), you'll have to read it. Each length to cut is next to a check box. Please email with questions, I can share a screenshot of exactly where you need to look.
Hi Joan, the cut measurements for the handles are listed under the "Cutting Instructions" on page 3 of the PDF. Find it listed under the heading 1.5"-wide webbing....
