Hi Nikita, thanks for your question. The grade requirements are listed on the course webpage under 'entry requirements'. As of Sep 2021, they ask for a first class undergradaute degree with honours in the humanities, fine art, or social sciences at the minimum. All best, Zach

Hi Rick, Thanks for your message. It’s a bit difficult for me to answer your question as I studied Film Studies as an undergraduate so the personal statement was a bit more straightforward for me. Bearing that in mind, I think all applicants, regardless of their background, should demonstrate in the personal statement why they want to study film from an aesthetic point of view rather than other approaches commonly found in film studies. I would avoid a general discussion of film as the course has quite a particular focus, and the admissions tutors will most likely be looking for applicants that 1) are aware of this and 2) have the potential to excel in this academic area. If your work in design relates well to the academic study of film aesthetics, then I would demonstrate that rather than discussing film in general. And I wonder what you provided with the 2 essays of written works, if you could briefly touch on that it would be very much appreciated. Appreciated, Rick

@@rickzhou3457 Hi Rick, I haven't had time to film and edit a video this week, but I have written an article on the personal statement. I've added a link to that in the description of this video under the 'Other Links' section. Regarding the writing samples, I chose two extracts of two longer essays I had written on film. One was heavy on formal analysis, and the other was heavy on film theory and philosophy. The criteria for what they're looking for in those writing samples is included on the course webpage so I'd recommend checking that out for more information. Hope this helps, Zach
