I've been trying to encourage them to do a ... Drink to Japan. There's a huge variety of local drinks, and there's always strange times to be had over there. Oz seems up for it, just a matter of onboarding James
@@Muck006 i see what you mean, but maybe its just the by product of being rich in the entertainment industry for too long, but i dont think hes nearly as insufferable as alot of hollywood people, although thats not saying much.
All three Oz and James series are brilliant. I'd seriously watch them do a series on nuts and bolts. It wouldn't matter. The chemistry and banter is fantastic. I like to think they've stayed in touch. I even have a little evidence for my theory. For any eagle eyed viewers, you might notice Oz Clarke was in the background of the Grand Tour Amphibious vehicle challenge. There's no way that was by chance.
@@rastacat Well spotted! I haven't found any article, tweet, or interview where The Grand Tour or James mentions the fact that Oz was there so it's a bit of an easter egg. Although, James was asked in an interview on Drivetribe a couple years ago whether he would do another one. He said it was one of the best jobs he ever had, and that he absolutely would. Oz is now 75 so they better get on it.
It is "Intrati in sensul giratoriu si ieSITI la prima iesire" which translates to: "Enter the roundabout and take the first exit". IESITI means leave and it is pronounced yeshitsi
15:50 my God James is so on point here, I didn't know he was actually knowledgeable on the scientific method, beside some basic physics facts or formulas
the fly removal conversation would bore most people to death but I was thinking how great James would be as a long journey companion cos im a bit of a geek at heart also
Who...is Oz? Never mind, I've looked it up: Robin 'Oz' Clarke is a British wine writer, television presenter and broadcaster. 17:00 - James is now the only other person I've seen that uses the mathematical symbol for therefore in mid-air besides myself. Yes, yes, I'm sure there are others.
I wish james had done another of these with Oz. Maybe exploring other English drinks like Oz did with Hugh or maybe trying different local drink through continental Europe form ginjinha to franciacorta
4:42 : The moment you realize that explaining how reversing a trailer works is the same as explaining Picasso. "But how is that a face of a pretty lady?" "It is!" "She's got flounder eyes!" "It's Cubism!"
28:43 Interesting discussion about beer-drinking Brits going back to Roman times at least. Along the same lines, archaeologists are considering the possibility that the Beaker people who showed up in Britain c. 3200BCE with their distinctive pottery were actually early brewers. Cheers, everybody!
I love how when they were taking about a fly in the car, James waffled on for ages and Oz forgot the start of the sentence. It's opposite to Top Gear where he's cut off instantly.
What about their other adventures??? Oz and James blaze through the Netherlands...Oz and James Blow about Colombia... Oz and James pick up Cougars at Crate and Barrel...
"And made a fantastic mess of my shirt".......how British. This show is really relaxing and funny. They remind me of my older brother and I when we were teens. "Do you think the car will go through there"?
In the bit where the two of them are trying to get Oz to park the caravan on the cement pad, and the camera is flipping between the two getting the instructions - where is the cameraman sitting to get the shots ? Like, where is he or she ?
This is amazing It's like the content that I make but it's fking James May this is incredible. Good to know that one day maybe I'll have BBC level quality too. Got to start somewhere
As someone from Kentucky. The real McCoy has nothing to do with alcohol. It's talking about steak, it was after a cattle farmer (McCoy) that had the best beef cattle at that time. They extremely good steak and BBQ. So when someone has really good steak or BBQ it's the "real McCoy"
@@Goldeader I figured most people would just be interested in knowing a more correct version of the phrases origin. I don't really care if some subnormal gets mad or takes it personal that I corrected them.
I am Cajun and we eat something called Gratons or Cracklins .... Oz is right . A tad of hair is a sign of local origin and smart packaging is meant to appeal generically ...which means less appealling flavor .
I've had English people tell me that they invented BBQ. It seems to me that everything that enters that land gets claimed as an invention by its adopters.
4:35 If you think that's difficult, try reversing a twin axle trailer with a rear wheel steered forklift with everyone on site watching you and jeering when you inevitably fuck it up.
