That guitarist was Randy Rhoads. Unfortunately he perished soon after this was filmed in March of 82 in a freak small plane crash while on tour with Ozzy. RIP Randy!
Randy Rhoads is my all-time favorite guitarist. He founded Quiet Riot (years before they became famous in the 80s) and was sadly lost in a plane crash just as his career was ascending. "Blizzard of Ozz" and "Diary of a Madman" are two classic albums of 80s Rock and his guitar writing with classical style were brilliant and ahead of their time. See Ozzy's 30th Anniversary from 2011 of "Blizzard of Ozz" to better understand the creation and Randy's major influence on Ozzy and 80s Rock.
Randy rhoads is one of the best metal guitarist of all time. You can clearly hear his classical guitar Training in this song. Hours and hours to get that sound in his leads. R.i.p
Randy was a classical guitarist who played metal and it sounds so AWESOME...you can hear the classical guitar in almost every solo he plays..he was the greatest EVER
Only two "simply" things to say: First, Rhandy Rhoads (R:I:P: Brother) And of course, thanks for the truly reacction Lady. The band: Ozzy Osbourne (Lead Vocal) Rhandy Rhoads (Lead Guitar) Rudy Sarzo (Bass Guitar) Tommy Aldridge (Drums)
Randy Rhoads, made me want to learn the guitar and so I did. He was the only idol I ever had. Still gives me chills everytime I hear any of his songs. Great player, great person... what a tradgedy he was taken at 25. I'm 22 right now, and I could not imagine achieving his success just to die this young. Rest in piece Randy Rhoads, I will never forget.
Randy Rhoads is one the greatest guitar players EVER, I had the privilege of meeting his mom Doleres and his brother at his grave at Mountain View Cemetery In San Bernardino haven't been in a while but me and my brothers used to go on his birthday every year and one year his mom was there, they gave me a postcard of him from Japan and signed the back of it, thanks for reacting to this song and noticing Randy's great guitar playing! BTW his mom and brother had a classical music school in Santa Monica at one time Randy first played classical guitar he wrote a song for his mom called DEE where he plays a classical guitar piece for her
One of the absolute greatest losses to music is the death of Randy Rhoads. It's like Haydn or Bach being struck down half way through their career. It still hurts.
The guitarist is Randy Rhoads. The reason I picked up the guitar. I started when I was 12. Randy was the reason. I still play and I'm 44. I'm obsessed and adore the voice guitar gives me to Express myself. To deal with my emotions. Another Randy fan is born! Yes. He was unique and single handedly saved Ozzys career
He's been one of my favorites and a huge inspiration since 1981. At the end of this song when Tommy and Randy are killing it, look at the grin on Ozzys face like "good lord what have I found myself and how did I manage to hit the jackpot?"
When i was a teenager if you couldn't play at least one Ozzy song, you didn't get to play in a band. Randy Rhoads and EVH set standards people STILL have to meet. BTW, you have to hear Ozzy with Jake E. Lee doing Bark At The Moon.
Randy Rhoads, one of the best guitarist there ever was. Him and Stevie Ray Vaughan are the reason i took up guitar. Heavy Metal and the Blues became my favorite genres of music because of them. Randy is still missed today by lots of people. Rest in Peace Randy!! we still love you!!
And EVH basically said Randy was a copycat of himself. With all due respect to Eddie, he couldn’t have been more wrong. Randy was so technically sound and combined that with being able to totally shred, and that scared other guitarists. Randy Rhoads is and will always be my favorite guitarist (maybe musician, period). He packed so much talent in that little 5’7” 105 lb. frame!
R.I.P Randy one of the greatest guitar players of all time and is the reason I play guitar today ,listening to him as a kid giving an 11 year old inspiration to pick up guitar and learn how to play truly greatful.
Every once in a while I'll search youtube for any new stuff on Randy Rhoads. Your feed came up. Your reaction to Randy was exactly like mine when I first heard him when I was 12 years old. Shortly after that first listen my brother told me Randy passed away. I cried for like 2 weeks. Watching this brought tears to my eyes and those old feelings came back. What an amazing guitarist he was and still inspiring to this day. Thank you for sharing this video . Made my day!
Randy Rhoades...RIP...the legend behind making OZZY who he is. This is just another great song that used to play on the radio in my car as we cruised in high school...
Randy Rhoades was important to Ozzy, professionally and most certainly personally, but Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler played a bigger part in Ozzy's career. Ozzy had good commercial success by the time Randy came onto the scene (20 years). Randy had massive talent, but Ozzy brought Randy into the spotlight.
Randy Rhoades, RIP. Taken in a tragic plane crash. So young, so talented. Ozzy loved Randy, look at him admire him at the end. Ozzy still gets emotional over Randy. This song is pure genius. The lyrics and meaning behind them are profound.
Nice reaction!! I found you randomly after watching several Randy Rhoads covers, as I'm a HUGE Randy Rhoads fan! You got a new subscriber, and I look forward to seeing your other reactions. ❤️
Ozzy knew he had something special when he found Randy. You can see him smiling while Randy’s doing his solo like “ wow the heavens blessed me with you”
Seeing Randy makes my eyes water. Ozzy looking around at the end knowing his band is badass. Listen to this song or any from his live Tribute To Randy Rhoads album. That is where this guitarist shined. R.I.P. R.R.
Ozzy smiling at the end, because Randy and Tommy went off script reacting off each other for an extra ending to the song. Tommy talks about it in another video. Very cool, Randy, Tommy, Rudy and Ozzy were so great together
Eddie Van Halen and Randy Rhoads battled for months in Los Angeles as house band leaders playing in clubs two blocks apart. In 2021, forty years after his death, Randy was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame having received its highest honor, the Musical Excellence Award.
The Mister Crowley of the title is Aleister Crowley who was an English occultist, ceremonial magician, poet, painter, novelist, and mountaineer. Crowley's most well known quote is "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law"; He died in 1947 A fascinating character, check him out.
"Mr Crowley" was a real person..........an occultist, philosopher and, many believed, a practicioner of the dark arts........btw, the opening synth sounds like the organ in "A Clockwork Orange" film soundtrack.......thank you Beethoven
Randy Rhoads, RIP. When Randy died, Ozzy just fell apart. This was going to be his big come back after leaving Black Sabbath. Ozzy did make it back big but what could have been with Randy alive. Check out, Ozzy, Crazy Train
The guitarist is the late great Randy Rhoads. He is regarded as one of the best ever, but he died in a tragic plane crash at the age of 25. His body of work is small but his genius is massive and is still influencing guitarist to this day. God only knows what he'd have done had he lived.
Randy was the best ,lol I even had a guitar teacher named Randy ,skinny little guy that that plays amazing taught me stuff I still use to this day in some way shape or form.RIP Randy ...
I love seeing people 40 years later asking who is that guitarist? He was about to become internationally famous as the Lead Guitar player for Quiet Riot. If you will also note the bass player was a founding member of Quiet Riot. You young people today don’t get it. Back then this was a mammoth selling album with videos and a world tour. Ozzy had to hire the best musicians. The whole story about the crash has never made sense and was covered up. Randy was going to become an international super star.
Randy Rhoads changed my life. He is the best and I am in TEARS but it's all ingood spirits. He died in 1982and IS STILL bringing new people into his music. God bless you. Rip Randy
Randy Rhoads is one of the best Guitarist that there ever was, man when used to put in tobacco we would park the car close to barn and jam like hell to Ozzy.
Saaaaascriben!!! Your appreciation for Randy Rhoads is genuine... Thanks for a great reaction. It's a shame that there is so few of his live performances.
@@SimplyKSimone if you like guitarists, you should check out Jimi Hendrix Hey Joe Live at Monterey Pop. His first concert in America with the Experience. Blew everyone away
Great reaction, Randy was an incredible guitarist. The entire Blizzard of Ozz album was amazing. Please react to a short song called Dee to show Randy`s Classical side.
Mr.Randy Rhoads is the Greatest Guitar PLAYER ever!!! I have never ever heard anyone sound like that!!!! He played 120 instruments & taught his mom school!! Prodigy Randy Rhoads Rules 4 Forever!!!
Ozzy...he's a classic rock/metal legend with both Black Sabbath and his solo career. You probably know "Iron Man" and "Crazy Train"! Both along with many others are his signature classics. Great reaction as always beautiful queen. And the guitarist is Randy Rhoads who played with Ozzy on his first two solo albums before he died in a aircraft crash in 1982.
Randy Rhoads made so much noise with Quiet Riot that DLR and Eddie Van Halen would come to the shows to see Randy play. Ed knew he had to stay on top of his game. That whole westcoast LA rock/metal scene was very competitive against amongst guitarists during that ERA. Rip to RR and EVH 💔
Randy is a Legend he deserves way more respect than people give him but you should definitely check out his live version of Crazy Train on After Hours he absolutely kills there and he wasnt even going at 100% that day
Randy Rhoads was one of the all time great guitarists. I like the semi rivalry he and Eddie Van Halen had too. Eddie would say things that when he said it you could tell he was joking but in print it would sound hella arrogant and I think he enjoyed seeing people spaz out about what he said like one time he told an interviewer that the thing he liked about Randy is that Randy admits Eddie taught him everything he knew about the guitar. On video you can see Eddie's smirking cause he knows some people will take his words seriously......lol.
It’s funny, we all know Ozzy from his reality show but he had a whole career before that. I’ve never really watched an Ozzy video, so this was a first. I’m like, is Ozzy talking about Aleister Crowley?? Great reaction!!! Sorry we missed you in our live. We really appreciate that you came through. 😊
