I would love a Chinese restaurant on board! 🤤 And an improvement to book at some of these restaurants. We struggled to book in The Olive Grove…but found there were many empty tables. Not sure why, maybe not enough staff 🤷‍♀️

Shipping Italy is reporting Carnival Corporation and Fincantieri are working on an order of 6-8 ships of 150,000 gross tons. Their report has the order as Carnvial and AIDA with an option for Costa, but some other people have said that the order will be for P&O and AIDA.

Hey there 👋 It's a very interesting video 😊 I'd be excited for a new P&O ship, but I dont think it should be any bigger than Iona or Arvia. Instead, I'd like the same size ship but with new ideas and maybe 1 or 2 new dining options. A pub that does typical pub grub... not like The Keel and Cow, thats great as it is... but pub food like sausage and mash, scampi etc etc. Maybe some more things to do outside too. I also agree that there needs to be some more colour 👍 We dont want to do a fly cruise but would like longer cruises from Southampton. It's our 1st time on Iona in November, and we can't wait 😀👍

Hey Nicola 👋🏻 Thanks for watching and your comment that is jam packed with great ideas. I totally agree we do not want it any bigger, Arvia is limit I think, but we shall see on that one. 💯 on proper pub, Cunard have great one that’s always packed. We loved Iona, have a great cruise!

The most logical decision for me and looking back at the history of Princess, would be for a new P&O ship to be a rebadged Sphere-class vessel such as the Sun and Star. This would be a cheaper option as the superstructure will have been designed and it’s just a case of an interior makeover.

The new mega ships are becoming a mix of theme, water and motorsports parks. I can’t see that appealing to the P&O crowd.

Interesting video. Personally I would like an upmarket P&O ship similar to Ventura size. As we know with Iona and Arvia getting off at some ports can be a nightmare and getting back on as well, also the bigger ships can have a negative side such as locals not wanting to be swarmed with passengers and you only have to look at Venice and how the bigs ships are no longer allowed there.

It's a bit of a tossup if P&O gets one. P&O's oldest ship was still built in 2000 (Aurora). Aurora should still be serviceable even in 2030. In 2030, Carnival Cruise Line would have several ships that would be 30 or older (Sunshine, Elation, Paradise, Sunrise, Radiance). P&O Australia would have one (Pacific Explorer), AIDA would have none (oldest is built in 2007), and Costa would have none (oldest is 2003). I doubt Princess or Holland America would be on this order if there are ships being ordered for the mainstream lines. If they are it would likely be two different designs as Princess and Holland America typically has a higher passenger-space ratio. My educated guess looks like this: 2027 - Carnival gets newbuild #1, retires Carnival Sunshine (1996) 2028 - Costa gets newbuild #2, passes a Concordia-class ship to P&O Australia, which retires Pacific Explorer (1997) 2029 - AIDA gets newbuild #3, passes two Icarus-class vessels to Carnival Cruise Line, who retires Carnival Elation (1998) and Carnival Paradise (1998). AIDA would still be up in total passenger capacity despite having one less vessel. 2030 - Carnival gets newbuild #4, retires Carnival Sunrise (1999)

Having been on Oasis of the seas, MSC World Europa and Arvia, o can honestly say that for facilities for families Arvia comes bottom. The pools are too small and no water slides.. p&o missed a trick by making a half hearted attempt at making a family ship sadly as i do love the food, entertainment, staff and Britishness.

I hope they use German builder Meyer Werft over Fincantieri be interesting to see what the future brings. From an enthusiasts point of view the mega ships feel so soulless no character anymore and are just ‘floating resorts’. Takes away the soul of cruising.

Now P&O is moving over to family / younger clientele it’s looking great for the UK no fly sailing. It’s upsetting a lot of the older people that are used to the traditional cruising. I’ve seen your reviews of the new P&O ships and they look amazing (thank you) we sail Arvia in May first time P&O. I’m used to royal but now looking at cheaper options. Sailed MSC VIRTUOSA hated it . I guess the price was to low therefor people jumped on it because it’s cheaper than all inclusive in Spain. I love big ships OASIS of the seas my favourite (apart from cats 🤮). Now I would love to see a water park on the new ship but it needs to be as you kind of said easy to accessible to enjoy, dulling piano (Like at jelly rolls in Disney world). A cinema is always great. NCL viva has beetle juice show, icon has wizard of Oz. P&O could have a UK show put together by the likes of Ashley banjo, but a show like blood brothers or JAMIE, Other things a great comedy club, some family or adult shows like mr &mrs and battle of the sexes are great fun on royal Caribbean. A venue like royals music hall or NCL’s Syd Normans would be amazing. Sorry for going on 😂🤣 Iv got plenty more in my tank but I’ll just leave one more 🤯 the NCL VIVAS galaxy pavilion looks next level 😍🥰😍 Free soft serve ice cream or at least free with a drink package. Fruit juices at all meal times not just breakfast. A pizza /kabab shop on the Main Street or whatever, a cafe that has included food.

Hey, thanks for watching and love this reply never apologies for going on very detailed. Love the idea of having a proper theatre show like blood brothers although not sure carnival would pay for rights sadly! Kebab shop is great idea. Yes MSC is very marmite, are experiences have been mixed but loved the Yacht club, do it if you get a chance. Be interested to hear your views after your trip on Arvia.
