Huge fan of acknowledging mistakes we make in the past. Says a lot that we can leave our ego at the door. Hard to save lives when we are worried about being right or wrong. That's what I loved about Military AARs, no one gave a shit about your feelings. Thanks, good video.
I just got my Zenith and already noticed that. I can load a full H&K mag easily. My MKE mags can't even load a full 30 rounds. Let alone get them into the gun with the bolt forward.
We were using Win Ranger 127gr +P+, that stuff was super hot and the king load back in the day. I don't think they make it anymore. Everything was a transition back in the day and then you just kind of beat the gun around until the malfunction was remedied. Now that I teach the gun, I show guys how to reduce stoppages and it is very similar to AR
Cool thanks for taking the time. My understanding was that part of where the 9mm NATO came from was the necessity to run in the mp5. Does the mp5 need a hotter round to run reliably?
Hotter is better, but I'm shooting 115gr standard velocity in the video with no problems. It's been awhile, but IIRC our practice ammo back then was a 124gr standard velocity FMJ and we did not get a lot of malfunctions.
@@DrHanes I have, and I agree. That being said, let me turn that around. Have you ever shot a truly bad man with 9mm and failed to drop him? It's terrible!
How is a 5.56 "safer for the community " than a 9mm, especially in CQB ? Does that mean that any cop carrying a 9mm pistol should just carry an AR15 strapped to his hip instead ? 5.56 are rifle rounds that easily go out to 700 yards accurately while a 9mm fired through an MP5 drop out of the air like a rock after 200 yards.
A guy being interviewed about how he prefers an AR15 over a shotgun doesn't seem to be much of an answer. Shotguns and subguns are ideal for CQB while the assault rifle can do CQB but is way more at home out side, especially ballistics wise.
Jake Weston that was DocGKR, he is a well-known ballistics expert. It's not just he who has come to that conclusion with the three different weapon types- it is a great majority of the primary and secondary staff which encompasses military and law enforcement from the most general to highest tier. We consider all factors.
What you say is undeniably true but I still have to disagree based off of my own experience with both platforms. Its funny how it took the shooting community 40 years of subguns in CQB to suddenly think the 5.56 carbine is superior. The popularity with the AR15 over the past few years seems to suggest its a new gun yet it has been around for half a century. Funny how mans perception of things changes back and forth.
Jake Weston subguns are just big pistols with pistol caliber performance - we all know pistols pale in comparison to rifle when it comes to ballistics. This isn't new, unfortunately admins don't listen nor do people emotionally attached to bad ideas.
that moment when a lefty is explaining how the ergonomics on a mainly right handed weapon are obsolete...I'm just saying the charging handle was made to b used by righties it's just how it was done in the times it was designed
They way we did it was load the mag to 28 rnds the reason was its a bitch to try and rack the charging handle back on full 30rnds so down load 2x rounds and just speed reload instead of locking the cocking handle back it was faster and we all had to do it so if I was to give my Battle buddy a mag their would be no confusion on how to reload. Gotta love the Marine Corps keep it simple stupid everyone on the same page on how things are done Police seem to do what ever they are allowed not bad but not always good either. Back in the mid 90's we had been working with swat they were having a hissy fit because once we go live the safety was off until the area was cleared no turning on and off your safety. One officer asked us what would happen if you were wrestling for your weapon one of our guys said that's why you have a knife and a pistol. Also our rules of engagement were totally different then theirs.
@@KD0105 It appears to be a MP5A3 with the standard SEF lower and original German collapsing stock. The MP5K PDW shown after is likely an A3 with a Navy lower. It appears to have a Choate side folding stock.
@davidgolden1726 sheetrock isn't designed to stop rounds - armor is. Pistol rounds are stopped by 3a and level 3 armor - 556 goes through 3a and a lot of level 3
@@PrimaryAndSecondary exactly you made my point, therefore it can't possibly be safer ! You're just regurgitating who-ha nonsense ! Anyone that's been around hi powered firearms should know better, I do and you should but then again maybe you don't....have a good day and stay away from behind sheetrock walls when 5.56/223 are being used 🙈🙌🏻🤣
@davidgolden1726 again, 556 fired at a higher velocity and being lighter and more fragile is more susceptible to fragmentation, deflection, deceleration. This is pretty common knowledge.
