P0135 O2 sensor heater circuit, My first checks EASY

Last week Keith showed a data pid showing heater current in a newer vehicle, which would be a cool alternate way to verify the diagnosis and confirm that you're on the right sensor. Thanks so much for the video! The repair manuals are not very helpful, but after watching this video I was able to perform this repair. Unhooking the plastic harness from the clip was the hardest part.

I had a 99 Astro with this problem. Drove me nuts. The O2 sensor was OK. I even verified that it was heating - just turned the ignition on, slid under the car and felt it. Yup, heating up. Replaced the O2 sensor anyway, no difference. Lived with it for years. I would get the truck to pass smog by resetting the code, then afterwards, every time I started the car, I would turn the ignition on - wait 10 seconds - then start the engine. I sold the truck to my handyman and now he's struggling with it.

Thank you, this is exactly what's happeining with my 01 honda civic. since you are donig this with a chevy can i assume that this test will work with my 01 chevy S10 also? you are just checking the electricals for a brieak in the heater circuit and you could test the other wires to make sure you are getting signal and all that other stuff? thank you!

Thank you for sharing .I have 2 question,I tested my 2 white wire from the heater and it read 00 ohms(even when its running),also tested signal and ground and it reads 1 volt,would this be consider as a bad sensor?. I also tested the signal and ground from the ecu and it reads 12.4 volt is this too high?....

hi can you please post a link for that sensor from auto parts store or Amazon .. i got Suzuki Vitara 2.0 with 4 cylinders p0133 hope this will work.. i was told that none oem o2 sensors\ecu need to be recalibrated can you please comment.. also if there is an exhaust pipe leak @ the flex joint does this need to be fixed first. thank u

Will this cause a vehicle to misfire? My 2000 Chevy Astro van gave me a codes po300 -multiple cylinder misfire & Po135 - this one that you have.. Would replacement fix the misfire?

So let me get this straight you did the Resistance check on the faulty O2 sensor itself and the voltage check on the connector from the ECU, is that correct?

What could the problem be if the o2 sensor tests good and I get voltage from the harness but keeps throwing a heater circuit code? I'm stumped. Wires look good as far as I can tell. 2012 Suzuki Kizashi.

I have a chavy tahoe 2003 , im trying to get my smog check done , but my monitors wont get ready for the o2 sensors, and i have a p0135 code and a p0141 code , any idea what i can do to fix the problem?

6.0 GM I have a heater circuit fuse issue for the front two banks Bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor 1. My heater fuse keeps blowing. I must have a short some place but Don't see anything bad in the wires. Could it be that it is a faulty PCM?

6:20 if you finger for the hole, if you know what i mean.... So anyway, because of how my wires are insulated I can't tell inside the plug which two wires of the three are the white ones. When i set my meter to ohm, it reads "1" before i probe anything. If I probe the two outer ones I get a reading.Guessing those are the two whites? Would a black and white give a reading? This is the upstream. If it's good does that mean testing the down stream same way? The 1 out of 10 times its downstream?

I have a question when i replace both downstream sensors and both cathalytic converter i still have the engine light on it dosent detect the part that i replace

On mine was showing the same code bought a new 02 sensor (NGK) the previous was Motorcraft, what else could be the issue if the 02 sensor its been replaced? @robinsonauto

I have a 98 buick Century and had this code PO135. I replaced the O2 and after clearing the O2 sensor code the code came back on. I then replaced it again thinking the first was defective. The code came back again and it says heater slow to respond and then has the same message you have. Now I get two errors saying both O2 are now bad. Any thoughts why the first sensor keeps going bad?

they sent the wrong one first, heh I hope you remember to always check the connectors and wiring first. I still shoot myself in the foot now and then so to speak and with me, my hands are into everything all the time, so it occurs fairly frequent..

I had this code PO135., on my Silverado 2006 5.3 Liter. I replaced all 4 , o2 sensors, all three relays , PCM fuse. erased the code, drove for about 5 mile or more miles, filled up my gas tank, not too full. started up to drive away and the engine light reappears???? any ideas

Just fixed my p0135 by changing the bank 1 front o2 sensor. Problem solved !
