Apart from opening and closing the sunroof fully, you also have to press the tilt sunroof button so that opens and then closes. It should then be set. Great video 👍
Congratulations on all your achievements with caring for your P38! They just don’t build em like this anymore and no matter what the critics say about the handful of known issues, these trucks are worth every ounce of effort to keep them roadworthy and aesthetically fit! I have a 98 HSE still on EAS and near mint inside and out. The whole truck was assembled (😂) around the vent motors in the dash and I’ve got 1 acting up. It’s an enormous job and you’ll definitely need to get your codes cleared once done for it to work properly. I’d say get everything that throws a dash fault fixed and then get them all cleared as it suits you. The Nanocoms are fantastic so keep an I eye the eBay for a better deal on this very pricey tool! There is no reason this fine machine won’t do 500,000k’s with regular maintenance and upkeep. I pull mine up alongside these absurd newer model Range Rovers and it is quickly obvious which truck is the proper Range Rover!! Thanks for the videos mate ✌️
I am just starting (like the car was delivered yesterday evening) the VERY long road to restoring a cheap p38 Bordeaux I got off of eBay. Bought it assuming nothing would work but so far everything works! Checked the air filter and its brand new so I live in hope. I know I will have to do the headlining so this was a huge help thank you. Like the black I have to say but the body is Alveston red so maybe I need to keep it cream like the seats. Just me but I would change the rear parcel shelf back to original to keep the colour line. Even black it will look odd (IMHO) but your car your choice mate! Lovely job and great to see another gem coming back to life.
Looks good. You’re doing the right thing with the sunroof but you have to do a full open and full close in one movement without letting go of the button, you’ll get there in the end!
Good job, but you should have picked much lighter colour material for the lining, because black makes the vehicle dark inside, as shown. By the way I peeled off my sagging lining on my P38 and cleaned the fibreglass shell, getting rid of the disintegrating foam and cleaned the fabric itself and then glued it all back together -without any insulating foam. So, the roof lining colour still matches the rest of the trim.
to reset sunroof with roof closed press closed for one second, release, open roof fully, release, press open, release, close roof tilt roof up, release, repeat until sunroof set appears on display
Hi Adam...Nice job ! I have a 1999 2.5 DSE. 113,000 miles. Java Black/Lightstone interior. I have owned it over 20yrs Still on EAS ! I am just in the process of bringing it up to, hopefully show standard. Needs new paint on Front/Rear bumpers and both Door Mirrors. Windows need a re tint. Just completed a music install and DIY Rear parcel shelf ( MDF - Beige Carpet covered) Looks awesome. I also intend replacing my headlining in the same material. Where did you purchase yours ? How much material did you need ? Great vids BTW. I view them all ! The car is looking great. Good luck and happy trouble free motoring ! Larry.... ( Leicestershire )
Hi, this is the material I used. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324778983072?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=v7EE6GBBR5O&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=0rmyqdp7r4y&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY You need about 58” x 84” just to cover the headliner, so there’s more than enough on this roll of material. And I used 4 cans of spray adhesive. Thanks for watching and best of luck with yours.
