P38 EAS Dryer Desiccant replacement 

The dryer on my P38 was needing changed. I had a spare dryer and a service kit. Initially the cap wouldn’t come off by hand. Off camera I taped up the top hole and ran the cap under the hot tap for a minute, it was enough to allow me to get it moving. Also off camera I washed the unit and allowed it to completely dry. The desiccant supplied in the kit is a smaller gauge than the original. I didn’t have any scales handy to do a like for like weight comparison to prevent overfilling. I judged it by eye, pouring it into a dish. The whole contents supplied appears to be correct amount. I’m not sure what the quality is like of these aftermarket service kits. I can get a new unit in the UK for around £47 if this doesn’t work as intended. Thanks a lot for watching.
