Best review I have seen on the program by FAR. I am starting tomorrow. Been a weight lifter for many years but those narrow range of motions are catching up with me and getting more frequent injuries in and my flexibility/cardio is garbage. Really excited to get this holistic approach! Thanks again for the great review!

Thanks so much for the kind comment! This workout program really changed my life in a positive way and I wanted to give in depth of the good results P90X helped create for me! For someone like you who has been lifting weights you will see the benefits big time. I had tendonitis issues in my shoulders from lifting heavy weights my self and completely eliminated them. I am sure the program will challenge you in a different way then you are used to but stick with it, you will for sure feel that holistic body transformation for sure. It will get rid of your injuries and make you more durable so even if you go back to the things you were doing before your body will be better equipped to deal with it! Wishing you the best and once you do finish the program please do come back and let me know how it went for you! I'd be curious to know! :)

@@JoseGonzalez-gg6rs Stretching instead of Yoga X is a no. Yoga X is way harder than stretching and builds up your strength, endurance and flexibility. It's a lot more than just stretching. You can potentially do P90X indefinitely if you want but it's good to mix it up, just to keep things interesting and come back to P90X. But if you wanted to you could. Also you can modify the exercises you learn in P90X and try to do your own hybrid workouts later on as well. I sometimes mix some P90X moves and lift weights in the gym in the same session. You can surely get creative if you choose to!

I definitely need to add more yoga into my workouts. I like the idea of mixing things up to get the most benefit of different styles

Yes, Yoga will change your life for the better without a doubt. The variety will also help. I found small muscles I've never worked before got activated and strengthened by doing a different style of workout each day! It brings balance to the body.

I also did 3 rounds of P90X about 10 years ago in college. I only missed a couple of days field training in ROTC. I definitely got in shape and had noticeable differences in my appearance but I didn’t have the amazing transformation a lot of other people have because I was already lean going into it. This is an excellent program for someone looking to lose weight, build some muscle and get into better cardiovascular health. For a skinny person looking to put on weight this might not be the best program though since it burns so many calories.
@Kaygee79
@Kaygee79 Год назад
Thanks for sharing your experience using P90X. The program was meant to get you lean and shredded so for sure it burns calories and if you're already lean it will help maintain that and also possibly get you more ripped. The design is not for weight gain. If you're looking to put on mass then you need to go heavy by weight lifting in the gym. You could also modify the P90X programs and do the strength days more often and possibly do weighted chin ups and heavier free weights to help with the mass. Less reps and more weight is ok and catch your breath while they do more reps and go like that. There is always ways to play around and modify for what you want. Great comment though and I agree with you that this is a program designed to get you lean, not necessarily to make you bulk up significantly. If that is the goal, lift weights separately with that goal in mind.

@@Kaygee79 thanks! I hope my comment didn’t come off as negative. I didn’t have a massive change in my body composition since I was already lean and in relatively good shape but I definitely noticed a difference in my level of fitness. I was in ROTC at the time training to become an Army Officer. I had significant improvement in each event of my PT Test (APFT at the time) including the 2 mile run even though the program doesn’t include running. The program was definitely worth the money. One thing I wish I had taken more seriously was the diet aspect. I ate for the most part healthy for my main meals but ate a ton of junk on the side. I think my age masked my subpar nutrition at the time but as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized how important diet is.

@@MrMpwood12 Your comment did not come off as negative. I can fully relate as I have been in the gym for various reasons my self and for different types of results you need to do different approaches. P90X is more of a holistic approach vs. bulking per se, that is why it makes total sense to me you would improve on your PT test including the 2 mile run. Remember that you do exercises in P90X that build up endurance, flexibility and durability so they will all enhance performance in anything else you do. Less chance of injury, more range of motion that can help in running better etc. and the list goes on. As for the nutrition, you can get away with a lot more when you are younger. For me, I noticed eating healthier has many additional benefits especially in your daily energy levels and ability to focus. As you get older the nutrition becomes more essential. For best results you want to eat healthy. Healthy fuel for optimal results. You are a great example of life teaching you the lessons and you're spot on. If you ate more healthy when you were younger it would have helped you more then too but the younger body is always more resilient anyways so its all good! Live and learn and adapt! Loving your commentary! Keep up the healthy living! :)

Fantastic video Kaygee! It sounds like a good challenge and a great way into shape! Good point about saving time by not having to travel to the gym or getting distracted while there

Thanks ladies! It sure is a good challenging workout and gets you amazing results. It has been around for years now but still is one of the best home workouts you can do! For sure a time saver and for me the biggest benefit was not being distracted by others in the gym. I sometimes would chat with people and waste time but with this method none of that! Much Love as always! :)

Look no further. P90x is the best home workout program ever made. All the others don't even come close. Ive done a lot of home programs but this one is the real deal. Im looking into doing P90x again to bring me back to being lean again. Back in 2010, I followed the nutrition plan 100% as accurate as possible and got shredded. If I remember first month was high protein like a million egg whites and then towards the end of the program they start adding in carbs.
@Kaygee79
@Kaygee79 Год назад
Love this comment! Yes you're right, less carbs early on and then later on they add in more. First the carve you out and then they give you the carbs for the workout energy so you can go hard in the later rounds! Glad to have testimonial like this on my video because I experienced the same thing doing P90X!

Hey Farzad. If you can go to the gym and get your workouts in that is amazing. Living a fit and healthy lifestyle is the main thing. P90X is one way to do it and there are also others, whatever suits you is great. I just like to hear that you're taking action, that is the key to life! If in the future you are looking for something different then at least you know about this option! Appreciate the comments my friend! :)

@@JoseGonzalez-gg6rs Thanks so much for watching and for your in depth comment. I appreciate you taking the time to do so. I was able to go into detail as this has been one of the most helpful programs I've used to get into shape and stay this way for years. To answer your question is that yes it is sustainable. But I don't think you really need to keep repeating the P90X program over and over 90 days straight. I personally think depending on what shape you are currently in you can go through the cycle one time. Then if for example you've reached a body fitness that you are happy with then you can just maintain it. So instead of doing P90X daily for 90 days you can drop it down to 3 or 4 workouts a week as a maintenance. This is how I have been using it over the years. Once I got to a level I was feeling good in then I dropped it down in frequency. And of course if there is a time you want to up it to another higher level of fitness you can bang out a full 90 day once more at that time. The thing is with any repetitive program it will get tiring if you only do that all the time. Another option is after the 90 days, do hybrid style. You can go back to the gym occasionally and push some weights, and then mix in a Yoga day with P90X etc. I also find that after a while I know a lot of the exercises and I may just make my own workout someday and do the exercises I feel like doing that particular day. I can see you are already creative by modifying the exercises to help build more muscle so keep that same mentality going forward. The exercises you will do and learn using P90X and foundation builders and can be modified to your liking so you can make your workouts interesting each and every time you do it! Hope this helps and all the best. Also once you do go through the program please come back and let me know your thoughts on it! I am interested to know! :)
