I have been thinking about switching over from mode 2 to mode 1 lately, so to prepare my brain for the switch I have started wearing my underwear backwards and brushing my teeth with my feet.

It might work :-) it's much easier to go from mode 1 to mode two. Just pretend the right stick is a flight sim joystick and dont touch the other one

I remember when I was. 7 I got a bowing 747 polastarreann plan. We were on holiday; we went to the field and flu. The plane it stayed up for who felt like hours it flew over the caravans, and i n the top part of the ladys' door, she only had the top part of the door open. it did frightened her a bit

Nice review! Looks like a nice flyer for calm days. It's too bad there is no stability during acro mode because the size is nice for transportation and casual flying and looks like the right form factor for a trainer. I'm surprised they're not putting the servos on the wing to make it even easier for transport. I'd rather unhook a couple of servo wires than aileron linkages, especially if they're that fragile.

This FMS P-18 is great looking model. Think the ideal wing size for beginners and flying in general is in the 700-1600mm wingspan range. (slower flight speed models for beginners) One thing that I can't get over with these hobby radio/plane combos, is the transmitter always uses 4x AA disposable batteries, while the plane uses a rechargeable battery. Why not include a rechargeable battery in the transmitter (avoids needing a screw driver, and the extra fuss) A way to get around the toy-style micro-stablization and Rx combo is to do a conversion to INAV. ;) A Matek F411-wse is ~8g, plus another 2-3g for a modern receiver. A flywoo F745 FC (16x16mm) is only 5g, so a couple possibles for under +10g mods. (might even be able to swap out original pcb, to have net zero weight gain)

I just finished putting together the 1700mm big brother version of this model. I might have to get one of these little guys and do a piggy back ride.

Ive never flown an rc plane only drones and 3d copters. So i guess its good that its difficult. Like the old saying, if you can learn to drive a stick shift you can drive anything. I just ordered this, this morning so i guess its on its way but if it gets demolished oh well its dirt cheap

That definitely looks like a neutered version of the Eachine/Volantex micro birds. Nearly a direct copy of the Sport Cub 500, which is pretty nice. Sad that it doesn't have the same easy/mid/expert mod switching. I guess they can't all be winners, especially now that prices are up and quality is down for the 'cheap' stuff.

Man, that thing looked stressful to fly lol. It almost looked like it was a little tail heavy. The little UMX (ultra micro) series of planes from E-flite are pretty good. The UMX Timber is similar to this and is supposed to be a really good little STOL bush plane that's fairly easy to fly but also can do some aerobatics. I'd probably recommend that over this one. I had a UMX SBach a while back and it was shockingly stable, even in a fair amount of wind. It could also do some decent aerobatics but I think the size along with the gyro prevented it from doing a lot of 3D moves correctly.

this is a great plane!!! just flew it. Gyro works great, wheels work great on sidewalk landing and take off. How can I buy replacement clevis?

Best path for beginner IMO Buy a nice radio, get a flight sim, 20 mins a day of sim then practice when there isn't too much wind. Don't rely on safe technology.

As you were alluding to in the intro, these tiny planes are not at all easy to fly. They are great for something to pack into a small space to take on holiday but a learner really needs some sim time followed by something like a decent radio, an Apprentice with SAFE and some sort of buddy system. Some of the Eachine 1S warbirds look very tempting to take on holiday with my TX16S but this is more money and simply does not look as good. Unusual for FMS but hey ho.

I think that's why they separated out the brand but that's just an opinion. you are right and In general fms is my favorite plane brand

Nice video but when I bought it the supporting bars came in the wrong size so you can't attach them to the wings.

Hi, friend! I would like to acquire my first FMS brand airplane (but I am actually very concerned about the compatibility of the electronics, that is... most Horizon RTF airplanes contain spektrum electronics and many times their models are limited to said electronics... which raises them to a slightly higher cost! (E-flite, hobbyzone) my question: Is it possible to install any other ESC and receiver like Flysky on FMS airplanes in order to reduce costs and not lose so much quality? .. How does the quality of the ESCs that FMS puts on their planes compare to the renowned Spektrum electronics? greetings Which and what brand of transmitters does FMS use for its airplanes? thanks for sharing

That looks very similar to the Volantex Sport Cub 500 with a removable wing. On that I use the multiprotocol module with the 4-ch sub of the V761 protocol. Have you tried that protocol? I fly it in a sports hall on manual mode but it is a bit fast. Had to move the battery back to get it to fly better (mounted a smaller lipo below the fuselage).
@AndyRCchannel
@AndyRCchannel 2 года назад
yes that does not work. seems to be YEP as its called in the multi module world Yet Another Protocol

Awesome flying and review, Andy! 😃 Pretty nice little airplane indeed! Too bad it won't bind to a 4 in 1 module... That's a real bummer. 😕 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
