That’s why getting your home insured is very important. And if you’re going away during winter, make sure to have a trusted person go into your house to run the tap and let hot water drain for a good hour to prevent ice accumulation in the pipes.
Grabe Sir parang 2nd life na kitchen nyo. Di nmn kayo masyado heartbroken dahil you are a real trooper. Material things are not permanent, your house may be broken, but your family is safe and sound. Yun ang importante. Work harder and earn the dream kitchen you always wanted. You are an inspiration to us all. Think positive!
Im am so sorry about what happened to Panglasang Pinoy kitchen Chef Vanjo.. I’m glad you and your family are safe.. Hope insurance cover the cost.. And hope you recover soon from this tough times..🙏🏽 We are looking forward to seeing your cooking videos! Everything you shared, we appreciate, including travels etc. Thank you for always including us to your events!
One of the most important lessons I learned from a plumber when he fixed our leaking faucet: If you turn off your main water valve, turn on all of your faucets inside and outside the house before turning the main valve back on, so the sudden air pressure won’t cause the leakage, especially for old pipes. Turn on the main valve slowly (halfway) and let the air out from all the faucets as the water starts running. When you notice the sudden surge of water stops, turn off these faucets one by one, and continue to turn on the main water valve (depending on how strong you want the water pressure). It is good to have someone help you turn on and off the faucets. Best wishes to Panlasang Pinoy family!
It wont make a difference kung winter. Laging problema ang burst piping dahil sa frozen pipes sa mga lugar na harsh ang winter (Chicago is top on list). Nangyari na sa akin yan.
won't make a difference turning off the main water valve, since you still have water on the water lines. Then best thing to do is to leave the furnace to run at 60 degrees, do not turn off the electric since furnace runs with gas and electric. Open all vanity sink cabinets to let the flow of hot air onto the water pipes.
I admire your cool disposition despite what happened to your home and kitchen place! Good thing, you have the means and resources to prevent further damage and to bounce back expeditiously. You are still blessed and can continue to make a difference to your millions of followers around the world! Keep the faith and we continue to support your channel and watch your every video and of course, to try your recipes. Thank you and more power to you. God bless always. *From your beloved country, the Philippines*🇵🇭🌴✌️💖😊👍💕🇵🇭🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
We are so sorry about what happened to your home, while on family vacation. Good to know you were able to recover and fix your home. We will continue to watch you. Regards from Toronto 🇨🇦🇵🇭
Sir Banjo, I could only imagine the stress and heartache it caused you and your family. The Panlasang Pinoy Kitchen is truly part of our memories while learning to cook your uploaded dishes. We will definitely miss it. But I'm also glad that your family is safe despite this ordeal. Challenges are part of our lives, it lets us stop and reflect on our future. God has a better plan and only He knows what's the best for us. All is well and God bless your beautiful family.
As a form of support, looking forward At excited na ako sa bagong episode mo… Cheers🎆
Looking forward to seeing you cook in your renovated kitchen. This winter has been harsh for us northern Californians. So much flooding but thankful kasi we got plenty of rain and plenty of fresh water
😮😮😮the company you hired seemed to be very efficient. That was a lot of work and was very inconvenient. Glad that everything worked out and you’re back. Thank goodness for homeowner’s insurance.
Unbelievable pala sir Vanjo ang nangyari sa bahay ninyo but you showed us how to be grateful in every situations. Even yung byahe niyo na madaming negative experiences, ngiti at good vives lang ang naaalala ko sa pagkwento mo!!! God bless sir Vanjo!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Just looking at the extent of the damage made me really sad! Good thing you're still quite composed despite this horrible incident. Hope everything will be okay! 🙏
It saddened me a lot about what happened especially sa kitchen 😢 but i know and confident enough na maibabalik pa ang Panlasang Pinoy Kitchen and ofcourse more recipes and videos to upload😊❤ Bless you chef and the whole family. I salute your cool and calm disposition despite to what happened😊😊😊

Thanks for sharing, your positive attitude in the face of that calamity is inspiring. BTW, were you satisfied with how the home insurance worked with you on the repairs and reimbursement for damages?
I am going to miss Panlasang Pinoy. My American wife likes many of your recipes, even if she cannot understand Tagalog. So I TRANSLATE for her -- and she writes down the necessary English INSTRUCTIONS. We both shall miss you -- and we hope you get back to your normal lives soon.
I'm sorry for what happened to your basement, I'm sure you got insurance. I can't wait to see the upgrade you will do to that basement. We're still here watching you and supporting you. Take it easy bro 👍 God bless! 🙏 ❤

So sorry this happened to you and your family. Your attitude towards it is admirable. I pray I will be as calm when faced with so much stress and loss. But you are right. Thank God you and your family are safe and healthy. Material things can be bought again. Do not let the stress get to you. Stay Healthy in mind and body. Everything will be okay. God Bless🙏🏼
It’s always prudent to turn off the main water valve especially if you’re planning a long vacation whether on summer or winter. Hopefully there’s no mold growth in your house.
oh my goodness!! So so sorry to see what happened to your beautiful home while you were on vacation!! I can feel your pain but you have handled it beautifully! And all things will become new! God bless you more! ❤

I admire your calmness and resilience. Glad you're all safe. Buti nandito kami sa South. Though may hurricanes, we never have to worry about freezing when there's no electricity in Winter.
So sad that you had to go through that experience, but thankful also that you survived it and really hoping that the worst is over. Welcome back po! Praying that whatever you lost will be replaced beyond what you can think of or imagine. 🙏🏼

That's the problem during wintertime, pipes can burst because it's just too way cold when the temperature dips down to - zero below. Just wondered how you can prevent that, aside from having your water faucets dripping overnight to prevent water from being frozen. I admire you for your calm disposition despite the calamity you & your family have experienced.
Grabe yung challenges na pinagdaanan niyo Sir, but despite that you remain a beacon of positive energy. May the Lord bless you and your family tenfold.
Shout out from Monterey California!!!
So sorry to hear what happened to your basement. I know the feeling. I own a home too here in Toronto. I’m a widow and can’t imagine how stressful this is to you and your family. I’m glad everything is OK 👍🏼now.
So sorry to hear about the damaged. My admiration on how cool and collected you are. This happened to my sister in Chicago few years ago. They were also away when they had a freezing temps. Thankfully for them their alarm went off so they were able to contact my niece who lived nearby and was able to call for help before the entire basement got flooded. Luckily the insurance covered the damages. Such a lesson learned for everyone, it was such an inconvenience for her & her family during the renovation process that from thereon, whenever we travel we have a designated friend(s) that will check on our house specially during winter or hurricane season just to make sure. I hope that your basement is now fully restored. Thanks for sharing your vlogs, very insightful! God Bless your family.
SINCE YOU ARE STARTING ALL OVER, I would recommend to install an emergency shutoff valve from the main line coming to your house and then connect the shutoff valve to an electronic leak/water detector. This way, when water is detected, it automatically shuts off the valve. 👍👍👍
First and foremost glad you and your family are ok. Your positive attitude in the face of calamity is inspiring and I am sure you will be back on your Panlasang Pinoy Kitchen and sharing your wonderful recipes with us. Stay safe and God Bless!
Oh damn I’m so sorry that happened to your house. I think it’s best to get a house sitter next time you decide to be away for a long time during winter months. Did you winterize your outdoor plumbing, etc though?
Godbless po panlasang pinoy and ur family as well, more power po🙏🙂 Imelda Molina Doneza of Olongapo City
I’m sorry to hear this sad news. But I am impressed how you took this horrible issues. You handled it calmly. It’s ok as long as your house is covered with insurance. Hope to see your new kitchen soon.
Sorry to see what happened to your house! Just to think about all the investments you have lost the emotion alone after learning the incident is a nerve rocking. Well it happened to me once but not as much as yours!! Same scenario we visited Manila not knowing our ceiling at our kitchen fell because of excessive amount of water from the waterline that licked from our master bathroom. Hope everything’s all well now.😊
I sincerely sympathized with you because we had floods too from sandy storm in Coney Island Brooklyn New York.we lost a lot of things but thank GOD we are all alive.
Sorry to hear what happened to your panlasang pinoy kitchen sir banjo…nakakapang hinayang daming mamahaling gamit ang nasira..kaya nyo nmn maibalik uli ang mga nasirang gamit ang importante lahat kyo ay ligtas….God bless you and your family..🙏🙏🙏
That was a major disaster, Banjo. Burst pipes in the freezing winter is one of the worst things that could happen in your house. I just can't imagine how I would feel after having a great time in the Philippines and then I come home to see I have a flooded basement. That sucks, bro. There are several things that you have to do in your house when you are going to be away for several days during the wintertime, one of them is to keep heat in your house to at least 60 degrees. Anyway, you and your family are safe and that's the most important thing. I can't wait to see your new, remodeled basement and your Panlasang Pinoy kitchen. God Bless. 😊👍
😢😢😢😢😢😢y😢 sorry to what happened to ur kitchen while on vacation here in our country . But I sincerely admire ur calm reaction about it . Hopely everything will be ok in urkitchen w/c we always loved to watched ur cooking videos ! God bless u Chef Vanjo n ur family
Thank you for sharing your experience through challenging times. You’re going to get out of this adversity stronger and better this time. The good news is… You’re going to be have better kitchen next time. And your whole family is safe and sound. Having a positive attitude helps a lot during difficult times. Take care. 🙏🏼⚡️
Sorry, for what happened to your kitchen, but, for sure you will pass this inevitable situation with strength and perseverance. More power to Panlasang Pinoy!
Nangyari na yan sa min. We drove from Phoenix to LA one weekend. Pagdating namin sa bahay, when my husband opened the door, he screamed like he saw a dead body. The entire house was flooded because of a valve that burst. We had to live in a hotel for 2 months while the insurance company fixed the house. Good thing it was covered by our insurance. From then on, we never leave the house without turning off the main water switch.
I feel you Chef. We Pinoys are fighter talaga. God bless you and your family! Can't wait to see your new kitchen!
If you’re planning on escaping that frigid winter weather by going on vacation, good for you! Just make sure you prepare your home’s plumbing before you go so you don’t come home to any nasty surprises like burst pipes and property damage. Some of the best things you can do to prevent your pipes from freezing and bursting while you’re on vacation this winter include: Insulate Exposed Pipes Keep Cabinet Doors Open Winterize Your Hose Bibbs Drain and Shut Off the Water System Set Your Thermostat No Lower Than 55 Degrees Fahrenheit Have Someone Check on Your House Daily
We're here to support you.
Lgi Po ako nanonood Ng Mga video nio about cooking panlasang Pinoy mrami ako nttunan about cooking thank you sir Vanjo God Bless sanyo at sayong family
So sorry for what happened to your panlasang pinoy kitchen. Hope everything will be fine. I’m your fan, marami akong natututunang luto sa mga video mo. Thank you and God bless. More power to your panlasang pinoy recipes.
