Now I can appreciate the master class Jrue and Derrick put on, and how Pacer missteps cost them the series. I must have escaped from North Korea.
@3:38 sheppard doesn’t gamble, he never leaves his stance when he extends his hand for the reach; it’s more to disturb the rhythm tatum is trying to get into. then tatum makes a good move being that he’s a shifty player and shifts sheppard, then neismith is still in the same position for help but he can’t commit because white is a great catch and shoot guy so tatum goes into the chest of sheppard to force the help to choose and then finished a tough player as a 6’8 player
@7:55 i can’t name one big that doesn’t look like this at some point in every game with tatum on the perimeter, luka does the same thing to bigs. I feel like he knows tatum has 2 steps until he’s past him so he tries to account for that ? seems like a good shot on good defense on a mismatch
The problem with modern day defense in really all levels of basketball is that every player is playing for themselves. They’re not thinking about playing defense as a team but instead are just worried about their matchup and not getting embarrassed by it. Everybody just has an overall selfish and lazy mindset about defense

Can anyone explain why they kept picking up full court in an NBA game? Once in a while is fine, but the players are too good at handling overall to constantly be doing that and end up out of position too often. They gave up at least 3 or 4 easy looks because they wouldn't stop pointlessly picking up full court. Not a good look for the coach...

This pacers team was absolutely pathetic. They had Boston on the ropes every freaking game and because of Rick Carlisle horrible coaching they fumbled every game
