Pacific Rim: Uprising is a disrespect to all this hard work

I love how they mastered the idea of jaegers moving like realistic giant mechs and every foostep actually sounded huge and terrifying

I love/hate seeing the Jaeger graveyard. It's like this epic and tragic place where gods and titans go to die.

Tacit Ronin looks like a pre version of Striker Eureka

what an absolute marvel this movie is. didn't realize the extent of the CG but this is outright madness

Anyone else wish we could've seen more of the MK1s? I really would kill to see Romeo Blue, Cherno Alpha, Horizon Brave, Tacit Ronin, Coyote Tango, Brawler Yukon, and maybe even Lucky Seven's origins and stories.

Tacit Ronin was by far one of the coolest designs, because of how much it resembles anime mecha designs.

Can anyone tell me what program was used to create,rig,composite and animate these robots and kajiu's please?

The way the kaiku jumped on romeo's body and grab his face was badass and the way romeo escape and grab the bridge and smack the kaiju was badass to bad we didn't see it clearly

Hello, folks. Thanks for so much for all the positive feedback! Keeping an eye on the comments we felt there was some confusion and wanted to clear some things up. Yes, all of these shots are in the movie. The prologue starts just after the first attack on SF and fills the time-jump to the future. We built all the assets, including our own Kaiju and Jaegers, here at Mirada (except for the SF Kaiju). Our characters only "live" in the prologue, with the exception of 3 shots where we see the fallen Romeo Blue, Horizon Brave and the huge robot graveyard. We hope to put the prologue, as seen in the film, up on our channel soon. Stay tuned ... and keep those thumbs up coming!

I really hope Pacific Rim gets a sequel, maybe a TV or comic series too. This film is just exquisite and nails what a giant monster/robot movie needs to be.

The amazing part was looking at the last scene when they superimposed those two people in the Jaeger scrap yard. It really gives an even greater idea of how big these things must have been if something like the head dwarfs easily dwarfed them.

Definitely agree. There's just this negative stigma surrounding the use of virtual effects that people seem to latch onto. When done right, it can be absolutely perfect, when done wrong it can be the downfall of a movie.

I've always been a fan of using both. Having each compliment, build and enhance off the other. I feel that's how you get the best looking effects.

It's a shame that we never got much of tacit Ronan and Romeo Blue, both have badass abilities and cool designs that would've been integrated into the story

I work with a blend of the two all the time, and Pacific Rim was also a blend, using many practical effect, and miniatures. No one art is better, or more work than another. It's just about knowing what's appropriate and when. It's the artist that's amazing, not what brushes and paints they may chose to use.

I just had a complete nerdgasm over just everything in this video. Internally screaming with wonder the whole time. Thank you for sharing this. I need more Tacit Ronin and Romeo Blue now. D:
