Sound not perfect but the graphics were there's hardly any videos with a good fps glad yours had it and audio isn't a big issue tbh thanks for the videos (:
To be clear it does need a good sensible sequel as seriously why would you think that would stop them for long but prequels would be great if not better too
I feel really bad for Herc. He lost his friend and his son in one go. And according to the novels, he'd apparently lost his wife too. At least he still has his dog.
The ending was perfect. They don't need to kiss. They've been on each other's mind (drift), so i think the forehead gesture was deeper than just a kiss. And i mean.... it's not like they're a couple. They could be best friends, you know.
she might consider him family after what she said before slicing Otachi in half. It was stated before the Hong Kong incident she tapped into Yancy's memories too, so she was doing it for him too.
Umm, I think they are drift compatible to the point that they are almost two people perfect for each other. Besides from what it looks like, they would definitely be involved in a romantic relationship, she hugs him in the end. I had like to believe they end up together. There is no way to people with that sort of compatibility just don't end up together just as friends ya know?
@@cchase1282yes, that was in the original version of Travis Beacham's script, but Guillermo del Toro change a lot in it. Novel is a derivative product, so every fan decides for himself if ot is canonic or not.
The forehead touch was so much more powerful than a kiss would be. It shows that their platonic bond, their friendship is more powerful than any romantic ties. I think a lot of people misinterpret how strong of a bond that is.
Explain the way she was looking at him half naked in his room through her door peephole, you gotta admit there's a little bit of romantic feelings in there somewhere
It is romantic tho. They canonically have romantic feelings towards eachother. Just bc it lacks typical hollywood depravity doesn't mean it's not romantic
@@aeoligarlic4024 For me the feelings are there and you really don't need a kiss scene to feel the love these 2 had. They had a massive Bond before in many ways and for me Del Toro (who i feel is notorious for showing different takes on what love between to people should be) is showing that there are many ways to show that you can love each other. you feel that this relationship could go either way and it all up to the person watching the movie to decide. For me I feel that this love while powerful could also be seen as Platonic and maybe turn into romantic. It is very similar to Conrad and Weaver from Kong, Skull Island. Conrad is a former specials forces while Weaver is anti-war but at the 1st meeting of each other they let the other know what they think by being truthful but never disrespect each other in any way(much like Mako meeting Raleigh the 1st time and during the stick fighting scene). Throughout the film you see the 2 bond but right from the start i feel that while the 2 got close it was more of a friendship bond/love. They grew to care about each other as well as protect the other. I didn't see those 2 being in a romantic relationship
On the day when I finally paid off the last of my debt, and was debt free for the first time in 20 years, I played this moment: "The breach is sealed. STOP THE CLOCK!" It was one of the most powerful moments of my life. Disaster was over and life could begin.
How the hell did he even survive being inside a kaiju for that long without a protective suit considering how toxic and acidic the inside of a kaiju is like he should be melted to the bone
They were not romantically involved, they were more than just having a romance thing.. I think the head touching was far more intimate than the kiss, it was almost like they are husband and wife at this point that they didn't need to express their feelings via a kiss which I feel would give this a sexual tone, not what the director would intend for two people who are far more intimate than just the physically intimacy.. I think he captured the emotional intimacy between the two very well
@@elva136they most definitely were in love with each other, but as you said, they didn’t need to kiss to know it or show it. They know each other’s thoughts and memories know each other more than anyone else ever could. What they did was deeply intimate and didn’t need to be sexualized by a kiss.
This final i love it, what i liked most of Pacific Rim, apart from the Kaijus and jaegers, is the history of Raeligh and Mako, is left to the interpretation of the people, the cliché of the kiss at the end was not used, it is great to see interpenetrate as a couple and as pilot in combat, no just the cute gay and the girl.
Guillermo Del Toro followed the Japanese sensibility of implying romantic connection through subtle cues and clues, as opposed to following the Western way of beating the audience over the head and I found this very refreshing!
I feel awfully sad for Herc and Max for having lost their loved ones, one being Marshal Pentecost, the other being his one and only beloved son Chuck in a heroic sacrifice to the Kaijus. He really is a hard man, both on the inside out. Respect!
I actually ship them but I have to agree with you. It would be so... cliché if they just kissed. (IMO, both have seem everything in the other''s mind, so they don't need a kiss to be linked at all)
The PR1(pacific rim) is the PERFECT movie at the point it was made, It's still fascinating in nowadays. the entire movie focuses on every detail you can, from how the jaegers avoided buildings when fighting the kaijuis, just every detail you can imagine. The actors did an absolutely great job, You can feel the weight when they have to lift up and down in order to move, The sadness when one of them dies. If Charlie Hunnam was still alive, and they made a squeal with him and the og characters I'll watch it for sure. Now I have seen all the comments on the squeal, And yes I don't like it too. The pilots are way too young for the fights, They look like they should still be in high school or something. Second, as I said before, The PR1 was carefully about every detail, how the buildings aren't just for destroying or like they can be build up easily back up and welp PR2 did the opposite, the pilots showed no disregard of the buildings just break and break. and the funny thing is I think they did more damage than the actual kaijus, second The jaegers are too light-weighted: The pilots look like they can do some 360 flips and then dropkicks the kaijus, the hand-cap is what makes mech interesting, the slow movement, the heavy steps and etc. That's what makes mech so interesting. I could go on for another 300 words about how not great the squeal is but my fingers are tired. above is what I think about PR1 and PR2, comment below to tell me what you think about them.
It's tremendous , incredible. I love watching his mivies. I actually watch them because he is there. I am fascinated by how he smiles that is , his smile is everything to me ❤❤❤☀☀
No kisses, not even a "I love you", Pacific Rim was paying homage to the Japanese film till the end I see, because most Japanese romances won't include those, and that's also what makes them so much better imo, you can feel the characters' emotion without them saying it or showing it physically, that's why people always say Japanese literatures are about the heart
This actually my favorite scene, you can understand all the worthy effort. The big different between this movie and the sequel was this history is make to end the war while the sequel is someway to continue
I really wished that Mako was the one who stayed behind to deal the final blow. Destruction of her city leads to her destroying the portal to the Kajius. Plus, I never see a heroine sacrifice herself for the main protagonist. Would have had a deeper impact in my opinion
There's a theory that Raleigh died before the sequel happened because he tested too many jeagers after the event of Pacific rim 1 that lead to his death!
@@sakthisubash3110 just remember that the theory I said is from the event between Pacific rim 1 and the sequel I didn't involved the Pacific rim black so there is still a possibility that his alive.
This never needed a sequel. Perfect ending to an epic movie from silliest concept ever put in live-action science-fiction. Damn you Del Toro. You're just too damn good.
It copied a lot from "Independence Day": the leader's speech, tricking the enemy defenses in order to nuke them, the alien looking at the vehicle that is about to kill him and unfortunately even the dumb sequel where they kill one of the main characters for no reason.
As far as I'm concerned, this is the ending scene of the Pacific Rim franchise - Uprising is consigned to the same pit as any Alien movie after Aliens, any Terminator movie after Judgment day, and all of the Taken sequels. This moment of triumph is too good to be spoiled by a sequel.
If a Pacific Rim 3 has to be made someday, I'd like to see Herc take the role as a Marshal of PPDC. That would be interesting as it would help to expand the character's arc.
Kissing is not the only way of showing love. We still have hugging, holding hands, and starring at each others' eyes, which are all apparent in this scene. I think those clues are plenty to make a simple conclusion for your stoopid minds, right? So, yeah, the conclusion is.. they have feelings for each others. Now I know that some people who are obsessed with being "anti-mainstream" would say that their relationship is just platonic, but come on, man... First, you guys are just reading too much into the meaning of them not kissing in the end as them not having romantic feelings. If you guys believe that not kissing means not loving, then you should also believe that kissing is loving, which still shows that you guys have horrible definition of loving. And second, you guys are just not fun. You guys don't have imagination, and just want to kill the mood by your less-fun theories.
Plus, there's also the mutual respect and admiration they have for each other. I can't do nothing but agree. I think this way is more wholesome and pure. Because, by being into each other's mind, they already know everything. They've achieved that unspoken understanding of each other, where you don't need to say or do anything to show you feelings to the other. I think it's pretty clear they have romantic feelings at the end. It's just that's not showed in a way we are used to see
100 choppers appeared in lines and then disappeared without picking them up. Were they all waiting for them to finish their foreplay and didn't wanna intervene?
Oh shit! Is this the same guy that was in Tron Legacy as Sam!? Damn can’t believe I didn’t recognize him until now lmao and I saw this when it came out too
Random dude1: How many choppers should we send to pick up 2 people? Random dude2: ALL OF THE FUCKING CHOPPERS!!! Jokes aside this was one of my favorite endings to the best movie in history
they wont make a sequel for this shit, sure it was good, but whats it gonna be about? huge frogs invading?? they destroyed the other alien thingies already..
This is the reason why this movie doesn't need a shitty sequal. This ending scene literally sums up everything about this movie and it did it in a landslide.
Jonathan Woo The odd thing is that they continued using the mark I's like Cherno Alpha despite the likelihood of getting terminal cancer. The burnout rate on pilots must have been high considering the amount of time spent in the cockpit of the jaeger.
They later updated the Jaegers Pentecost just went into action before the shielding was a thing since they didnt exactly have time and just rushed it. All the Jaegers got shielding, even Cherno
The rushing of the Yeagers was soo stupid. They lost like half their Mark 1 Yeagers due to the poor safety of the pilots. And Typhoon.... my god, Typhoon.
Is it weird that seeing them not kiss makes me want to see them kiss more? Like, genuine shame that abomination of a sequel missed out on Raleigh and offed Mako because among many other reasons Uprising sucked, they coulda been real cute together advanced from PR’s ending.
Here’s the sequel: Raleigh and Mako would go on to get married, double-barrel their surnames, have three children, and retire to grow old together. The end. Period. Dot.
