PR’D MY BENCH!!!! 65#!!! Which, yeah, is really shitty in comparison to like, everyone but!!!! I never really bench so i’m super proud!! (Kinda makes me want to get into powerlifting ngl)
First, your eyeliner looks fly af. Second, this video is out just in time- I'm currently packing to leave for nationals and I'm super nervous about forgetting something stupid. Thanks!
I'm not sure if you've ever done a video like this but - I'd LOVE a video all about water loading for a meet!!! I can never find info on it, especially pertaining to women.
Thank you so so much Meg! I needed this as I'm prepping for my first meet this month after running your Strong Strong Friends Program 🙌🏽🙌🏽 Love yah and GOOD LUCK AT RAW NATIONALS!!!!!! 💪🏽💪🏽💜💜💜
Loooove this video! I just had my first meet this past July (followed your programming!) and watched your previous packing video while I was preparing. It was super helpful as well! Thankfully I didn’t miss anything and actually had everything (besides spitting implements lol) in this video! Also, depending on federations, lifters may need to bring proof of drug testing information certifications. In the OPA (Ontario, Canada) you need this!
Re: the membership card, a lot of people screen shot it at regionals and showed that and the waiver that way. That way you aren’t standing there digging through your email backing up the line, but can swipe easily from one to the other. 🤗🤗
My last USAPL meet specifically prohibited crop tops under your singlet, just a heads up! I would probably bank on a standard cotton tee with regular length sleeves (some women’s tees have weirdly short sleeves).
THIS IS NOT RESTRICTED IN THE RULE BOOK! Bring a copy of the rule book or have it on your phone. Anytime someone tries to tell you that is not allowed, ask them to show the restriction to you in the rulebook
See and I wondered why I didn’t see it in the rule book when I read it probably 3 times before my meet. But I thought, if the meet director says no I should just let it go. Thanks meg!
I’m doing my first Olympic meet in 3 weeks and just feeling nervous but it was a huge help and answered a lot of my other questions, especially when it comes to dropping weight cuz I might have to do that .
On topic : this video inspires me. Thank God i have time to safe money when i will compete. (So i wouldnt look like a homeless person 😂). Thank you Meg. 💯💪
For your coach/handler, is there a certain form to fill out for them on the site? Or do we just pay for them to be with us the day of the meet? I'm still confused about that part
Before my first meet I definitely rewatched your previous video about packing a bunch! However, mal (lvd) did make a really good blog post and pdf of a list, which included some other things like rollers ... Soooo... Maybe a better list? Hehehe . Can't wait to watch you lift!
Spitting to make weight? Seriously? Now the wanne be scientist in me wants to get a measuring cup and a sliced up lemon and see how much saliva one can produce that way.
haha you should do it! Most lifters who cut weight want to get right on the dot, so weighing just over happens. Go pee again, spit a little. You'll see a few people spitting at every big meet before weigh ins
Do you have a strong opinion on which singlet to get? I know you have an Inzer one, but wanted to know why you picked that one or if you'd still recommend it vs others like SBD or Titan? Thanks so much for all you do and all the resources you provide to the community! Good luck on the platform :)
Question: did you use to do crossfit at a gym in Florida? You look just like a woman I saw working out there preparing for a national crossfit event. She had a coach out of California (cellphone coach). Enjoyed your video here.
Thx so much for the heads up on what I need when I have my first meet in January. I am currently going to have my first practice tomorrow for my school's team so I am nervous but also excited. Thx!!!
Hey Meg! New to the sport and hoping to do my first meet in September and just wondering you didn't mention any kind of bra or sports bra...what is your opinion on that? Love the channel, you're a badass!
Off topic: Thank you again Megan. This is my dream. To be as strong as i can and to compete. So i start monday with your amazing program "Uplifted". (I would have started a week ago, but some ex bf drama happend. That's life right ). I followed your advice and went to a powerlifting gym. So amazing (couldn't afford ). So with your program and my effort to stay consistent , i know i won't be training alone. Btw: amazing program. Video's are excellent. Not only you are a gorgeous woman/coach but your personality shines through. Don't be mad, i have my notebook ready LOL. Thank you dear, for creating an excellent programm for everyone. For woman and men all over the world who don't have much to spend. (Thanks to body building.com too ). Wishing you all the best. Thanks again strong strong friend. Hi from the Netherlands.
You really are my inspiration. I got really depressed and packed on the pounds. Watching your videos gave me that extra push to better myself and be happy with myself. Thank you. Loyal subscriber
Hey Meg, as a big fan & supporter, I do have to say I find it quite offensive when people use the term "look homeless" to describe dingy/not put-together. I think there are better ways to phrase it and as someone with a growing platform, you do have influence over how others take on phrases as well. "Look homeless" is something I hear far too often and someone once pointed it out to me when I used it, so I try to do the same. Not all people experiencing homelessness are dirty. Thanks, queen - good luck at the meet!
