Niger's junta announced breaking off a military cooperation agreement with the United States "with immediate effect." Col. Maj. Amadou Abdramane, the Junta's spokesman, made the announcement on national television. It comes after holding high-level talks with US diplomats and military officials this week. US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said Washington was aware of the statement and is in touch with Niger's military rulers in a post on 'X.' Watch
