Packtalk Edge Installation Shoei Neotec 2 Helmet | How to Pair 

The Packtalk Black includes the JBL 45mm speakers. The Edge comes with 40mm speakers, same as the Packtalk Bold. I've called Cardo twice and cannot get a straight answer on why the speaker downgrade. Suspect $$$$. Are you sure about the Edge joining a group established from a Packtalk. Cardo says that the Edge's mesh 2.0 is backward compatible to the Packtalk mesh 1.0. They make no mention that the Edge cannot join a mesh network established by a Packtalk. Deleting individual riders from a group is a known issue of the Cardo software. This is a limitation of the app and does not have anything to do with the Cardo headsets.

Many thanks for making this video, I used it today successfully. In particular showing the detail of the groove for the wire from the mount and the groove for the microphone, and how you cut and positioned the microphone velcro pad were invaluable. I used a 3d printed piece which fitted the helmet and has the two prongs for the Cardo mount. Very happy it is all working, thanks to you!

2024 August and just purchased a duo version of this. Sure hope I dont have regrets when pairing to the GW 2018 and Android auto. At least the install will be more of a linear process, thx to you Chris.

Loved the video, I have a Cardo edge and neotec 2 on the way. Just a little FYI, Cardo has the shoei adapter that actually slides into the spot on the side as a mounting option for 20 bucks. Just another option. Can’t wait to get this thing together. What was your experience with the edge with the 40 vs 45mm speakers as I’ll also have both…

Thanks for the detailed installation. I’ve had trouble installing the NON-Sena SRL Bluetooth systems. This one looks a little easier. The SRL was terrible. Looking forward to this.

I had the same problem positioning the mic. After fiddling around it worked. I live in North Wales, GREAT BRITAIN.

Love your videos, always well articulated and explained! This particular vid is of special interest to me as I’m changing from the integrated Sena SRL 2, to the Packtalk Edge as my regular riding buddy uses the Packtalk Bold, (which I have on my second helmet too).

I’ve seen a few people say the new 40 mm speakers sound better than the previous ones even though they aren’t advertising them as upgraded.

I like that you can clip it in. I dont want adhesive on my helmet. I heard cardo is better the one that is made for the neotec

Great install video, I've noticed you clamped over those black removal panels, how do you find the clamp style over those black side panels, they haven't come loose at all have they, is there any room a little further back to clamp on to.

Chris going from HJC to Shoei helmets… is there a weight difference ? And is this helmet difference like night & day?

Do the 45’s make contact at all with your ear ? If your helmet is sized right I can’t imagine they wouldn’t. But interested to hear your experience and what size you wear compared to what they suggest on the sizing chart.

Hey Chris, Thanks for the video. Do you and your pillion experience a delay with your CARDO? We just had our first ride with a Pack Talk Edge Duo and the delay is unbearable.

So Chris using your Packtalk Edge; if someone has a Sena 30s…etc, you are still able to communicate with them?

In some videos they show that you have to cut the left side of the triangular cover to make the clamp fit , not that was for a bold but in this video I did not see you having to cut or reshape anything?

so I bought the edge - I wanted the upgrade BUT after it was all said and done, the wheel did not change the audio volume on any source. I contacted Cardo support, and they basically were not wanting to help too much and after much runaround, I just asked for a refund and went back to my Bold, I won't bore you with details, just saying that the unit was not good and I was not going to deal with their negative interactions. Just wanted to give out the information.

Each time I have to re-connect the shoei cheek pads I dread it. Mine never snap in correctly. What should take me 5 seconds so far has taken me (and my wife trying) an hour of pushing and re-doing and it still won't stay in. Not a fan of the design.

The sticky mounts will not come off. If you actually know what your doing even a little.

Shame there's no simple open/public mesh like Sena has. Just turn the unit on and push the mesh button and you're automatically connected with everyone without worrying about groups. On rare occasions you'll hear strangers in the vicinity for a few seconds but it's a charming reminder that you're not the only ones enjoying a ride.

Also I had purchased the shoei nanotech 2 for quality of the helmet, since it was made for the Sena SRL , I purchased the newest model the mesh , after installing 2 different units in 2 shoei helmets , the “ Hey Siri “ doesn’t work . It hears me and starts spinning but then disconnects from Siri immediately. Also it is not responding to Hey Sena. I went online and saw that going back as far as 3 or 4 years ago that this was a problem with Sena with Siri and other voice commands. I did not know this before I bought the unit but you would think that after four years they could’ve figured this out. Also I’m assuming it’s not a defective unit since I have two brand new ones and they both do it. I’m waiting to hear from Sena of what to do because I did everything, factory reset, firmware update everything and it still is a problem for it. I’m hoping to get my money back and buy the Cardo pack talk edge.

Have you resolved being able to connect to the Goldwing AND the cellphone?

had to give up en my edge, sound quality was just to damn bad, voice commands unresponsive, radio quality very poor to. Was a duo set, tried both, just bad. To high expectations maybe.
