I've been playing Guitar from 30 years. This one can be maybe the best Guitar playing I've seen and heard in my life. Maestro of Maestros, you will be remembered for ever.
Man you can almost tell from the beginning he was about to shred that guitar like there's no tomorrow! The looks, his personality and how he spoke, it's like he felt the energy inside of him and couldn't wait for the talking to finish so he could unleash his emotions and energy through his instrument! One and only Paco.... one and only.
Es sencillamente enfermizo lo que hizo el maestro. Y concuerdo con uno de los que acá opinan. Yo estudie guitarra clásica y los logros que este hombre realizo en la guitarra con esas escalas endemoniadas, técnicas nuevas no solamente para el Flamenco sino la guitarra en cualquier genero en general son sublimes. Les doy un ejemplo. El dedo meñique desgraciadamente la academia no lo recomienda para la ejecución ya que se dice que es dependiente de las articulaciones del anular, pero Paco tiene compases en los que en su totalidad utiliza el meñique. Igualmente cuando el graba "Cositas Buenas" ya estaba depurando una nueva técnica del toque Flamenco con armonías y ligados sorprendentes y con el uso diferenciado de las cuerdas para no rasguear sino obtener sonidos diferentes en casi todos sus compases, parecía una orquesta, increíble. Así como la mezcla con otros instrumentos. Mucho de su crecimiento fue mantener las raíces de donde provenía e incluir la influencia entre otros del jazz y blue. También le gustaba escuchar música de otras latitudes para aprender de hecho estuvo hasta probando con música Celta, que recuerdo bien y hasta música Japonesa e Indú. Quien no recuerda su album "Dos Guitarras Flamencas en Latinoamerica", eso fue todo una locura y nos marco a muchos. El es el mejor guitarrista que he escuchado y será muy difícil que alguien lo supere es como el Paganini en el violín y sumele a eso que era compositor. Espectacular.

Paco hubo uno solo, sin duda. Pero, fuera de los rasgueos, no usaba el meñique. Tengo estudiadas muchas obras del genio y lo conocí personalmente (afortunado yo, jajaja). Por supuesto que el meñique sí se utiliza en alguna técnica de rasgueo, tanto en flamenco como en otros estilos. Como dato algo curioso, Gerardo Núñez (otro fuera de serie), en su video instructivo, dice que él no usa el meñique para rasguear y no tiene problemas (bueno, ahora sí tiene problemas, pero por otro motivo, lamentablemente). Ya es bastante sabido que quien ha usado en sus trancripciones (repertorio "clásico") el dedo meñique es Kazuhito Yamayita, pero en casos específicos, como en algunos armónicos, etc...Por lo menos, hasta el momento, en la guitarra de 6 cuerdas, pareciera que no habría que "preocuparse" demasiado por el meñique...jeje. It is very unfortunate for all those living this generation, who have started giving their heart and soul, the coming flamenco artists... They could never or will be able to meet and see paco live.... Those who are passing the tradition and techniques after meeting Paco once in their lifetime.... It's full of sadness to see him now in just RU-vid and think of his agressive speed and knowledge in Flamenco.... It's our mistake to even say that "No one ever will be like Paco" because everyone has got their own skills, but one can not disagree that anyone who has started Flamenco are always one step back... Whether they are dancers, singers or guitarists... People want to learn more and more... But when we see this, it just amuses me and force me to think we are not even born... Leaves us in full of frustration with all the questions How, When, Why, What etc etc but at the same time gives us tremendous amount of peace and silence.. Wherever you are Paco... People are here to remember you, inspire others being inspired by you... God bless you Paco as he has blessed us through you...Thank you so much

Great piece. I love this, I've got an uncle called Patino. Bless his heart he's 96 years old and, still loves to walk for miles sometimes. Guess that's what let him live into his 90s.
Si nos entretenemos e investigamos en todos los sentidos de como Paco tocaba, pensaba, componía. ....Dios mio, nos daremos cuenta que será imposible que nadie pueda tan siquiera igualarlo. Unico, inedito, inexplicable. ...... No existen palabras ni formas para poderlo valorar. Paco cada vez sigues tocando y siendo el mejor.
I spent a great deal of my life listening to Paco de lucia, discovered this beautiful and soul touching music through this great guitarist. Rest in peace. Fue triste el dia que el se fue.
@@mentevisualizadora Las falsetas nunca tuvieron dueño. Por años y por siempre la tradición ha sido mantener la tradición flamenca. Lo de poner la falseta en un disco, componerla , terminarla y darle un nombre sólo lo hacían los genios: Los grandes flamencos.

Cela ne s’explique pas. Et il n’y a rien à expliquer. Et pour le présentateur inculte je dirai : la musique ne s’étudie pas, elle se sent uniquement. Il suffit d’observer la réaction d’un animal ou d’un bébé quand ils entendent une belle mélodie. Si vous n’avez pas compris cette vérité c’est que vous n’avez rien compris à /dans la musique. Je suis tjrs stupéfait de la relation entre le flamenco et le Raga indien,incroyable que cela vienne de la même source,pour moi qui ai essayé de jouer les deux,nul doute que les gitans d'Inde ont emmené le Raga qui est devenu le flamenco arabo espagnol.
El flamenco es andaluz, ya estaba antes de que llegaran los gitanos. Paco , por ejemplo no era gitano ni muchas de las figuras históricas del flamenco.

Este era un programa de televisión que él hacía, y en el que, aparte de Paco, salían otros guitarristas, como Carlos Barbosa-Lima, Abel Carlevaro, Alvaro Pierri. Robert J. Vidal hizo mucho por difundir la guitarra, entrevistó a Andrés Segovia en numerosas ocasiones y escribió un libro sobre consejos para concursar y dar conciertos.

Why do people feel the need to compare Paco, its YOUR taste whether you like someone's music. But to say someone is technically better or compositionally better than Paco is just silly.

Eso he oido, por lo visto Paco se bajaba siempre que podía a Huelva a beber un poco del Niño Miguel... en cualquier caso, dos grandes genios que seguro se aportaron mucho mutuamente. Ojalá siguieran dándonos su música.
Cuántas tonterías hay que escuchar Paco sentía admiración por Miguel y eran grandes amigos Y claro que se inspiraba en el como en tantos maestros Paco bebió de muchos guitarristas como es normal Niño Ricardo, sabicas ,Esteban de Sanlúcar y un largo etc Si no nunca hubiera sido lo que fue y esto unido ha su talento lo hizo ser el mejor intérprete flamenco de todos los tiempos fue admirado por sus propios maestros Proclamado el mejor guitarrista por guitarristas de otras músicas En fin el murió porqué para ciertas cosas era como las personas normales Pero su obra perdurará de por vida porque ya eso sí es sobrenatural
A thing: his guitar is tuned up of half-HALF-tone (so also in the same video of "Reflejo de luna"); so, with the capo at 1st we listen a tonality between F- and F#-. I think to do this he used no high tension strings. Consider that he never studied music (00:01)

He say's ..never study music notes .. he doesn't know how to read it .. he just practice 8 hours a day since 8 years old and learn play guitar listening other flamenco guitar player .. first one of them his father an amateur flamenco guitar player

Look at him shake he's head in failure at the end of this nearly perfectly executed masterpiece. After all that practice.. just that little mistake at 4:35 fucked him up.. the poor guy. What a perfectionist! Another one like him in the remainder of human history will be highly unlikely..
Man, you gotta appreciate that head shake, that's the look of a man accepting his own flaw and I bet you he drilled that move into his brain and fingers 3000 more times that night. I know it sucked for him and that's all he could focus on but anyone who's a perfectionist or winner doesn't settle for "good". What a performer/composer this man was.
xcaluhbration Yes indeed. The more i see these few video's that were released not long after he's death the more amazing i find him to be as a self composing player! Was just studying a section at 4:05 and what happens right after the last note of that fast picado but every time i loop it the more i burst in laughter because of disbelief. Haven't figure it out yet cause it's to fast, but listen closely. The whole thing is just unmatchebly incredible!
Yes, every time I watch videos from this program it strikes me that he isn't happy. His performance brings tears to my eyes and he thought he wasn't doing it right.
The poor guy. Even a small flaw adds to the performance, actualy - it makes it HUMAN. He was no robot. Grande, grande Paco! One of the greatest guitar maestros of all time.
@@V.D.22 it was a compliment. Not knowing music theory but still composing better pieces than most professors of music. It was sheer dedication and talent and no amount of musical education will get you where he got.
