An easy Paddle but you can get a chop around the river entrance. The wash from power boats not helping. On your return the beach can have a swell making your landing a bit messy!

Fantastic John, really enjoyed seeing Bucklers Hard again, like you love that place, one can really feel the shadows of time and the fantastic ships that were built there ( VIctory being one) and the folks that done the building. The village and the museum is really interesting with the models of the ships.I remember most of all just lying on my back on the grassy bank and soaking up the smells and the sounds on a warm June day with my two children who also loved it, beautiful piece of England, thank you John.

Hi, I have discovered that Victory was built at Chatham. She took 2000 trees and cost £50m in todays money. Glad you enjoyed the episode. My arms are still a little stiff from the paddling truth be told.

Looks like you had a grand paddle John, you're certainly enjoying that boat of yours, enjoyed your previous video too going up the Hamble, I do hope you are able to do something with that broken paddle of yours, even if it's duties are now only to look nice on the wall of Shed HQ! My mum took me and my sister to visit Bucklers Hard years ago, we were fascinated by anything to do with pirates or ships or anything to do with 18th century seafaring, it really is an amazing place, must go back for another visit sometime! I'm going to have to look up about Mulberry Harbour now, never heard of it before. I remember you mentioning before that you know of the boat building academy, well I went down to Lyme Regis for the Boat Building Academys boat launch yesterday, a very enjoyable spectacle, saw a few old friends, there were lots of emotions as those boats finally touched the water after months of being built! It's been a very boat oriented couple of days with you publishing your video today, thoroughly enjoyable, keep up the good work! All the best to you and yours, Charlie

HimCharlie, many very happy memories of Lyme. Very glad the old building is getting well used. Do you know what it was used for in the War?. Butlers Hard has hardly changed at all. Still lovely. Yes Mulberry Harbours are a full subject in their own right. Much is still in place on the D Day Beach. Thank you as every for your support

@@shedadventures7225 Hi John, yes the old building is certainly getting used, they've got it set up really nice, and they are such welcoming lovely people who run it too! I didn't realise it dated back as far as the war, I'm afraid I don't know what it was used for, I presume you know, please do tell!! I was at the BBA almost exactly 10 years ago on their 8 week furniture making course, except I didn't make a conventional piece of furniture, I built a rideable wooden bicycle! Good memories! I know what the smaller building next to the BBA was, I was told it used to be an automotive garage, it's now the machine shop where the large blanks of wood are cut into the required sizes for the boats and furniture etc. Keep on doing what you're doing John, really enjoying it! Charlie

Hi, Yes it is a fascinating place. There is a memorial about Mulberry Harbours at Lepe country park. They were built in the woods all along the shore line. Must have been a great day at Lyme. Good to see the building put to such good use and surviving COVID. We are going to be on a proper sailing adventure soon as we are on a Yacht delivery from Chatham to the Hamble. Lots of interesting things on the way. Thank you for your support as always.

Another easy paddle with only one small warning is that on your return the beach can produce a bit of a chop. A problem for me wriggling out of my ocean cockpit. My landing was rather a mess but caused much amusement.

Note: ships like the Victory not Victory which was built at Chatham. She took over 2000 oak trees. Cost £50m in modern money
