PaddleStack is a simple stacking game that's surprisingly fun! This video will show you how to construct a 32-piece set from wood. Play rules are bulleted under the following links.

~~RULES~~
● Players take turns by placing a paddle anywhere on the game board.
● All paddles must touch at least one other paddle.
● Once a paddle has been placed that doesn't touch the board, no additional pieces may touch the board. After this point, if any other piece is made to touch the board, the player whoose turn it is has lost the game.
● Once all 32 pieces have been used, a player will continue their turn by removing any lower piece and placing it somewhere higher on the stack.

Your “I appreciate your continued interest” comment struck me as odd. No Pocket, we appreciate YOUR continued interest. I’ve been watching your second channel for a while because it seemed like you might have been giving up on this one (in some of your vlogs over there you kind of eluded to your lack of desire to keep this channel going or possibly feeling like the content going up over there wasn’t good enough for a main channel video), but it’s so great to see another video on this channel. As a fan, it’s been disheartening to get the sense that you didn’t feel this channel had value when it so clearly does. Your videos are super entertaining and I’ve learned so much about critical thinking and approaches to problem solving (not to mention woodworking, of which I knew nothing) from you. I’m so happy to see you haven’t given up on this channel and/or being a RU-vidr because seeing new videos from you is a genuine highlight of my day. I don’t know where it comes from, but I hope you continue to find the desire and/or motivation to post new videos. Your continued interest means a lot to me, and I’m sure many other fans as well.

If you really want the red pill, a circle has an infinite number of sides. This is why π is called an 'irrational' number, which means that it can't be expressed as a fraction. Forever you can cut side lengths in half!

@pocket83squared
@pocket83squared 4 года назад
The tetrahedral/ball-based one? Ideas that spring to mind: 1) a router with a long straight bit that uses a rotating arc as a template for the surface, or 2) a lathe and a tetrahedron, again using an arc as a template. Both would require complicated jigs. It would take some thought to simplify. Of course, lightning could strike one of us with a better idea. Let me know if you keep working on this.
@BrandonGraham

I wonder if you've considered staining the set in different colors. If you did half, the sculpture could look more dynamic and you could see the history of tile placement. If you did a bunch of colors, then each game could look even more different. I could also allow people to build variants in the rules like the peace replacing can't touch any similar colors.

You could allow players to reserve up to k pieces where k might be 2 or 3. Then each turn they have a choice of moves, place or reserve. With different densities of pieces they might reserve lighter pieces early to use at the end.
@AndrewHelgeCox
@AndrewHelgeCox 4 года назад
Or each turn might have 2 phases: Pickup to reservation station. Place from reservation station to pile. The reservation station would start populated with big standard pieces and one gap.

When slicing up the board into the individual game pieces, how come you always placed a space between the work piece and the stop block (as opposed to placing the stop block closer to the blade)? Also, don't assume that corner pieces must have flat edges.
@pocket83
@pocket83 4 года назад
When making a cut with just about any saw, there should (usually) be a stationary end and a free end to the work piece. This way, the cutoff has room to fall away rather than bind. When you have a free piece that's rattling around tightly against the blade, it will quite often end in a little explosion as the piece gets caught. Great question. Now stop spoiling the eggs 😠
