Anyone who has watched the Padres since childhood, or any significant amount of time, knows that winning the series v Dodgers then dropping 2 v the Rockies in such anemic fashion is the most San Diego thing ever 😩 It is what it is.. and it's hard to imagine this not being normal.

What annoys me a lot is that the Dodgers big contract players (Mookie, Freddie, Ohtani) live up to their contracts and even more, and meanwhile the Padres big contracts turn to shit quickly and the team's best hitter is $1m Profar. Then there's the endless stream of excuses from the players, managers, Preller, some fans, radio hosts (not you guys, but we all know who), and broadcasters (the guy who repeats 1 out of 162 like it's a religious text).

I don't get this team. They just finished whomping on the Dodgers and they lose the first two games to the vastly inferior Rockies. How does this happen? We have to be better than this. Machado, Tatis, and Bogarts have to start coming up big!

@FatSal619, LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, that's a f'ing brilliant idea... NOT! Shildt is the best person for the job whether you want to admit it or not. He actually knew the players going into the season, because Shilt was part of the Padres orginization while doing a job where he was actually in the dugout. That gives/gave Shildt the UPPER HAND over someone like your bs pick! Think before you speak!

This isn’t just baseball... it’s become a habit. Play well against the Cubs and LA and then fall on your face against the Rockies. Gees this is frustrating! New stars have emerged, old stars have faded. Just hoping they make an appearance sometime in the future for a period of time.

Shildty’s lack of accountability is baffling. I was born at night but it wasn’t last night….. you’re not fooling anyone. I’ve enjoyed him as the manager this year but you’re so right Jim, when they lose I cringe at what he’s going to say. They need to be better, idk why he can’t just say that. These guys are allergic to gaining any momentum above .500. I’m afraid we’re gonna be parked here all season boys

this is just typical padres fashion to win a good series and come off a good streak to just get destroyed by the rockies and then travel out to atlanta after that. this is not a great way to start one of the hardest stretches of the season
