I agree! The worst designed piece of junk I have ever bought. Instructions are useless: nothing but pictures. The buttons are placed on the back and are so tiny that they can't be used by anyone with normal sized fingers. After hours of trying to figure this out it still didn't work. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK.
@@thom6746 Setting this speedometer up is far more complicated than it should be, and their instructions are horrible. I took mine back to the store and had the clerk program it for me. I watched him do it, and I've programmed it myself after that. I had multiple problems with my unit and eventually, the store saw that mine was faulty and they gave me another one. The replacement works fine. Unrelated to programming the thing, it has a couple other bad quirks. When riding on bumpy roads, it vibrates so badly that it changes screens on its own. And if you hit a big bump at high speed, the unit flies off of the mounting bracket and ends up on the road. Other people have had those same problems with theirs and have jury rigged various fixes to keep theirs working right and on the bike. I do not recommend it to other people, but I don't like GPS units, or using my cell phone for the job. That means I'm sort of stuck with this flawed piece of junk. I've been using it for 8 months now. One thing is to know about it is that the buttons to program it are on the back, as you noted, but when you are riding and need to change screens, you only need to push on the screen near the bottom. There is no button on the screen, the whole unit pivots and the appropriate button on the back of the unit gets depressed by contacting the mounting bracket. It works fine as long as I stay off bumpy roads, but I don't always have the ability to avoid them.
I bought this so I could have cadence and good speed/distance accuracy. Calibrating for wheel size and then counting wheel revolutions should be the ultimate in distance/speed accuracy. Much to my surprise, this device kept coming up well short of my GPS watch on distance and it would have vastly different distance measurements from its day to day readings when I would ride the same route. It appears the link from sensor to computer just randomly drops out periodically and distance does not get recorded. The display has - - for cadence and - - for speed. I've been using Cateye cyclometers since the late 80s and this is the worst.
Feel like spending half a day trying to figure out how to set up, program, and actually use this? What really drove me mad was them insisting that it was "super-easy." Well, if it was "super-easy", they would have included real written, understandable instructions instead of a workflow chart that was as big as a tablecloth, and as complicated as a street map of Tokyo.
