I have the Dark Chaos and I know the surface is the same as the purple empress. Do you think the blue one is different enough feeling wise to warrant getting it as well? I usually swap pads a bunch whenever I get boted. Cloth pads seem to have way more variance but Idk maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah, if you want something smoother and faster. Cloth pads do have a lot of variance, but glass pads have more variance when it comes to how skates make the pad feel imo. I've tried plasti x skates, red obsidians, obsidian pros, tiger ice. etc. The reg empress feels pretty quick with ice, balanced with obsidians, and more like a cerapad with pros. It feels very controlled to m with those skates. The blue empress still plays more like a speed pad with the pros, but It does gain more control with them. Just play around with the skates to get the feel you want. The blue empress is the only speed glass pad I use. They have another speed focused glass pad coming out that will be even faster, so maybe keep an eye out for that, too.

The blue empress has much lower initial friction than purple, and slightly lower dynamic.

wich is faster the wallhacks sp-004 or the blue empress?

My copy feels slightly faster than the skypad 3.0, but slower than the sp004. I’ve only tested them side by side with red obsidian skates, obsidian pros, and the tjx plasti skates. I think those three skates being tested were good enough to come to that conclusion, though. They’re both very fast even with obsidian pros, (because of the smoothness). I’m sure they both feel extremely fast with Jades. Basically, They’re both very smooth and fast. Imo, the blue empress is more versatile with how diff skates can get slightly more control or speed. While the sp004 is just a bit faster. Even with plasti x skates, or obsidian pros, it tends to feel pretty quick. Although, there is a small amount of control with slower skates.

@@jaymz8222 i have a blue empress with jade skates and its extremely extremely fast, wich skates do you recomend? obsidian pro or the normal obsidian the red ones?
@jaymz8222
@jaymz8222 Месяц назад
As you know, it’s all preference. If you want the most control, I reccomend the obsidian pro or pro airs. The red obsidians, tiger ice, jades etc. all play on the faster side. Plasti x skates from tjx are a nice middle ground. They also last many months without changing speed. Not slow, not to fast. The red obsidians are nice on this pad, don’t get me wrong. Maybe grab a pair of each, try them out !

Hey, man, very informative video! Could u compare them in terms of skin stickiness? I have like sweaty hands, wearing a sleeve is no problem, but I can't play with palm covered with sleeve and I usually put palm and my fingertips on a mouse pad, so stickiness of glass pads is a huge bummer for me, though I've never tried them 😂

It might be rough if you get very sweaty especially in the summer. They’re both fine . I think the blue empress/regular empress are both an overall a more premium feeling, and the blue one is very smooth to the touch. The regular empress works great without a sleeve. You might want to grab a sleeve just in case, though. There might be sleeves you could have made for you to be more comfortable with your palm.

@jaymz8222 2 месяца назад
I can also vouch for the Cerapad kin (not original cerapad), to be very good without a sleeve. You’d have to wipe off any sweat after each use, though. It’s a slower ceramic pad. Easier to get used to if you’re coming from a cloth pad. But if you don’t mind getting used to glass it just takes a couple days or weeks.

Yooo jay I was looking at this glass pad.. think I'm gonna stick my Skypad 3.0 and save my $ for OP1 8K

Yeah, if you were going to get anything else. I think getting something more controlled would be the move. Since most faster pads are very similar to each other. Cerapad speed/kin, maybe. Could always look for used. I’m gonna list quite a few pads for sale soon. Og cera is one of them. It has my name on it, though hahaha. They’re both very unique and play well with the plastis.

Haven't seen anywhere that actually says this has a coating, where did you read that? Not to be rude

It’s not exactly something they’d want to advertise. But, in the padsmith discord from every member of their sales team lol

I have conversations with them every so often. I just happened to see them explaining to someone that there is a coating. And I believe the upcoming red empress will also have one. It makes sense, considering to get the pad to feel so much faster or more controlled, that you would maybe have to add a coating of some kind to change the performance that much. I’d hate to buy the same textured pad 3x if they were all similar to each other. Hope this helps.

Is the blue empress controllable like with micro adjusting etc
@jaymz8222
@jaymz8222 3 месяца назад
Have you ever used a Skypad 3.0 or any other glass pads? It’s very similar to the skypad. I haven’t had any problems making fine micro adjustments with it in aim trainers, but I have around 1k hours on them and have pretty good mouse control. If you are confident in your mouse control, it’s fine imo. There’s not a lot of stopping power, but you have all the freedom you need to make precise, quick adjustments. I never found it to be to “floaty”. If you wanna be safe, the regular balanced empress, (Dark chaos edition in this vid) has plenty of stopping power. Hope this helps .

Another option is ordering the Ultra Glide Ultra Brake full sized skates on ali express . Or trying the skypad obsidian pro dot skates for more stopping power and control.

@@jaymz8222 which ones do you prefer? Saw a guy talking so much praise for those ultraglide full brake till apparently someone said he didn't realise that he never took the plastic off the skates lol I've ordered the same blue empress but this is my first glasspad so I kind of wanted to get some more controlled skates for it. Got it on sale and if I like them I really wanna buy the upcoming red one too
@jaymz8222
@jaymz8222 2 месяца назад
Are you sure that wasn’t me? Hahaha I did the same thing. There is nothing in the instructions mentioning the thin plastic film. I saw someone posting glide videos of how slow those skates were, so I went into it just expecting them to be that slow. He must have never took the plastic off either. If you don’t mind leaving it on, they’re the slowest skates I’ve ever tried. Obsidian pros feel different depending on the pad you are using. They’re still quite fast on smooth surfaces, blue empress sp004, razer atlas is a smooth but slower pad, and I noticed they add a lot of control to it. The skypad 3.0 is the same way. The obsidian pros pick up on a pads texture. If you want a more controlled experience. Try them with the skypad 3.0, atlas, or padsmith empress (balanced purple version). If you want speed. But slight control. Try them on the blue empress, sp004, or any other smooth fast glass pad.
@jaymz8222
@jaymz8222 2 месяца назад
Definitely try the obsidian pros. You can always lower your sense too. The red empress will play fine with any skates most likely. And the purple balanced empress is extremely controlled with obsidian pros. I realized that the tjx plasti skates also feel the texture of the pad and it offers some slight control. Be, project arctica and a rare mousepad from Japan review coming soon! That’s another option to consider.
