This is my 9th attempt at a top speed test for the Fil ‪@poorboysrc‬ Tamiya TT01 / TT02 Speed Challenge 2023. There are 2 classes in this competition, one for brushless 2 & 3S LiPo cars and the one I'm entering, brushed motors and 6/7 cell NiMh batteries. My main focus now isn't winning but to beat that pesky Craig ‪@theoagrc‬ , he is now topping 30mph but his car set on fire last time out! I have another friendly challenger across the pond, Paul ‪@Paul__FC‬ who just pipped my 40mph last time out. Can I beat his 41mph?
In this video I run my new LRP V10 Spec.6, 10x2T brushed motor and higher gearing of 27/64, and a 7 cell, 8.4v battery. Having hit 40mph on my last run, can I improve? It's not going to be easy!

G'day my Aussie brother! Rob and Shoobie say hi too! That was a big hit into the kerb but it only bent the wing, tough little buggers these TT02's! Hi there Mark a great speed run and a magnificent 43mph. Loved the comedy between you and Rob, made me smile with the cockney impersonation and then that magical word ‘rozzers’ ! So, what a remarkable run.... 43 mph brushed is simply crazy, fair play! Your only 8mph off Pete wylies brushless time!! And, your one didn't catch on fire, unlike Craigs! 🔥 Excellent crash to, see you took a leaf out of my book there! 🤣 I'm actually really impressed with how much abuse these chassis can handle, especially bearing in mind how cheap the kits are! You know we try our best, James! Rob has a potty mouth, i never swear, honest, Guv! You guys deserved a shout out, good pals and like minded folk! Good job it didn't set on fire, we don't have an extinguisher!!! I always watch your videos and take inspiration from you guys down there! But, you pro's don't want to be taking inspiration from us amateurs, we really ain't got a clue what we are doing!! 🤣 😂 As I've said before, it's a shame there's so many miles between us as a Green Hawks /Mark Bryan /Rob Brennan /RC Dom/Craig /Pete Wylie race day face off would have so much potential!! Bring it on! 🤣 And, should our TT02 survive this last onslaught, we are planning to then take it to the tescos figure of eight to get it mapped on the Green Hawks time trials leader board.... Haha, I think it might have been Rob on the camera!!! Thanks, mate, but I think this is about as fast as I will go, the motor is struggling to pull higher gearing and I'm not spending more money on motors! It's been a blast though - cheers! 🤗👌👍

What a cool video, Mark! I love the editing, and then that funky easy listening tune in the background, ha ha, very cool! Regarding the app for the speed device, I'm sure it is Rob's phone that is lagging. I have same issue, I've had my phone for 7 years, it is slow as f..., so I need to shut down all other apps when trying to do the speed reading, it helps, try it. Your car is staright and true as always, watch the manhole covers, dude! Great speed, and great fun as always, with that bloody Rob on the camera, ha ha!

Hiya mate. Another fun speed challenge type video from you guys 😂 Well you keep adding more mph and I'm impressed with how stable your car is apart from when you drive over great big lumps 😂 I'm glad to be staying on the brushless side as I'm still beating Rob and Yoda although I think that Rob will have a last minute fast run with that new motor and a better road. I'm planning to do a brushed speed run just for a laugh but I'm under 30mph and I'm not prepared to spend any cash! Might go back to brushless just in case pesky Rob and Yoda have sneaky last minute runs. Great vid mate and best wishes for the weekend 😁🍺🍺🍺

Hi there Pete and thanks as always. We are having tons of fun with this malarkey, as you can see, it's taken over our channels at the minute! The car does run sweet as long as you get it pointed in the right direction and don't steer!!! 😅 Those bloody manhole covers! 😅 The competition is catching up fast, not telling any more secrets though! Excelent! I see many different approaches with, apart from a few exceptions, very close results! That crash had me worried for a moment (both the car and the app) but the TT02 is rather tough it seems! Great stuff guys! Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi, I am running in this challenge too, and have been surprised how fast we can get these TT02s to go on brushed motors. They also seem pretty stable and tough, just limited when it comes to increasing the gear ratios. Good luck!

43mph good run, The jump was sweet but the after crash was not fun at all! Those gadgets I think you may be better off using the old speedmeter less hassle than the new age gizmo!

Howdy! I tried a set of contact racing tyres and it was slower because the radius is smaller than these rally block tyres. I may try racing tyres with higher gearing if I can. Cheers! 😎👍

Head scratching with the challenge, change things and not much difference. Was you jealous of my kerbing you did your own and got a good speed. 43mph not bad at all, you have just changed you gearing and mine is so slow. But a 13t cheapo in tomorrow, well I hope.

@@MarkBryanRC The video is up at 3pm NPB but it still seem slow to others I have seen. The motor you are using is a low turn and takes time to wind up with the gearing. I think faster less gives torque, plus is your motor rated for 8.4v some only takes 7.2v.

I hear what you are saying! Yeah some Tamiyas break easily, but this hit a concrete kerb at 30+mph and kept on driving, only a bent wing that I straightened out! Thanks for watching!
