Hi at the end you said you added a tiny bit of paint and mix it with water, what color paint did you used?

Thanks for posting this! I wanted to see someone else follow Shannon's technique before pulling the trigger on my own project. Looks great!

I would definitely recommend it:) I would test it on a scrap wood and adjust it to the colors you like.

Yes I did just because I painted the kitchen island and it’s a high traffic area.

I’m doing this with my vanity and I’m worried about what you mention with the briarsmoke gel stain over the glaze.. do you think there’s another way to achieve this look?

So I’ve tried using a latex dark grey paint diluted with water. It also works. The glaze can also rub off with the latex paint. The main thing when adding the line to not soak your brush. After the glaze drys, you want to keep the brush mostly dry and very lightly feather the lines on. Then lightly wipe with dry cloth. You don’t want to over work the surface.

@@TanushasDIYHomeProjects so I’m going to use wood stain in a lighter stain cause the Java brown is looking a little dark

@@TanushasDIYHomeProjects how long did you let the java stain dry before applying briar smoke? Would waiting for java to be fully dry would that make it easier?
