Wow! When I did oil painting way back in the early 2000's there wasn't anything on the market to help oils dry faster, I had to wait several days and even weeks for certain colours to dry before I could work on a painting again, the world of artwork has changed so much over the years for the better.
I would recommend going to b&q and buying a sheet of mdf and asking them to cut it to the sizes you need, it is super cheep and before painting on it with oils paint f few coats of gesso as a base and sand it slightly between coats, it gives an amazing surface to paint on 😊
That's a really good idea, I have just seen someone else doing the same thing using MDF with a few layers of gesso. Will definitely be doing this in future, thank you! I've also been looking into frosted acrylic panels which are cheap, and they can give a really nice effect to the artwork.
