I've been in a welding shop when one of the other guys knocked over an oxygen tank and it did that. Brought back some fun memories of running faster than I ever did in my life.
It's possible that the injury was from the the cold air becoming decompressed rather than an impact injury from getting hit by the tank. The tank lodged under the bunker and was probably releasing -120 deg air right at his ankle.
it wasnt an explosion from oil in the fill nipple, he landed full force on the ASA and, judging by how fast the tank flew off and how much air was coming out of it, probably broke the reg off the tank.
I played at a paintball field called "ROA" One weekend (Which i didn't attend) a family hosted a birthday party at the field. In the end of the day when everyone was packing up a CO2 tank shot off a gun and crush a mother's head in, she died instantly. This was the first paintball related death on a "regulated field" Sad day for all.
+Chris Cozad And we got [Players name here], diving into the snake side. And oh what do we got here he takes out his own team mate with his tank. On the other hand they are really doing a great job on spreading the field wide... [Totally made up]
Okay seriously, to sum up all the arguments I've seen; based on the look of the players they are most likely shooting electros, therefore they have to using HPA (co2 will fry your solenoid due to the moisture) and this can happen to either type of tank
the tank sprays out freezing co2 or even if its air at that rate its cold as fuck and moving fast prolly hit him and sprayed ti cold and he didnt notice till a few sec after like getting a cut than noticing it than it hurts
zac drury you sir are, incorrect. co2, yeah, its cold, but who uses co2 in tournaments? (nobody) more curious about why you think the air would be cold? the air inside the tank is the same temperature as the air outside the tank, if not slightly warmer. have you ever seen an HPA tank with ice forming on the outside of it? if you did, then it was a co2 tank, not HPA.
almost the same thing happened to me, my remote line went off, and the tank exploded in my backpack, the ruined parts of the tank ran straight through a tree... lucky that nobody got hit
@xmrelit3 and @xXcfarmyXx the ASA is the port that you screw your air tank into. Most guns have ASAs that can be easily removed or adjusted via a screw. Sometimes these screws are not put in so tightly, thus causing the asa to have some movement. A sudden impact can jar the loose asa and cause it to separate from the gun and the airflow line (AKA Macroline) which in turn causes it to fly off as you see in this video.
i love both and i think paintball is more cheat proof, because you can tell if you're hit. With airsoft its great for practicing paintball and the ammo is cheaper, but people can say nothing hit me.
A paintball gas tank can easily have more than 30k joules in energy and that's more than enough to rip your arm off with ease. In that video the energy is not being released all at once, still that tank travelling the field has more than enough energy to hurt somebody, no need to fake injuries.
@CarbonSt0rM usually your local paintball shop will test the tank, but they only have to be tested every 2-5 years depending on what tank you bought. There is a code on the side of the tank they can check to see how close you are to your hydro date.
in a scuba diving class they told us to always lay out tanks out flat facing the wall so they fly into the wall and not into our sculls those tanks reminded me of tank ammo lol
remember first time traveling on plane to get to tournament... to get on plane with Marker and tank you need to remove tank from regulator assembly.. always felt like after doing that the tank wasnt safe and could do what you see in the video..
air pressur basically wherever you get you air tanks from like ansgear.com zephyrpaintball ect go under compressed air tanks those are the most reliable and also less deadly but always screw it on tightly the difference between co2 and compressed air is that compresed air is able to give out about the same output of air / velocity and co2 puts out random out puts of air but what happened there was just the fact that he didnt screw it on tight
its called physics. when you have rapid decompression the air cools and creates condensation making the vapor cloud you saw. an easy way to experience this is to take a half to 3/4 full 2 liter of pop shake it up and unscrew the cap and let all the pressure out at once. then squeeze the side and watch the smoke show.
when you put oil in the nipple the reg EXPLODEs, like FIRE explodes when the tank reg unscrewsm it leaks out nowadays with the regulator safety features built in that was a pure SNAP of his regulator
@Frouza bloody hell!! i didnt mean that paintball and airsoft are the same!! they both have similarities and theyre diff. but i love both and you cant possibly compare airsoft to paintball or visa versa... it doesnt matter if one looks more realistic or not what matters is which one YOU like
No, CO2 is worse. The gas is in a liquid state when the tanks are filled. So if you tip your gun forward while carrying it, some of that liquid can get into the internals. When you start firing, it will rapidly expand putting excess pressure against valves and o-rings wearing them out faster. This also makes it less consistent. HPA is cheaper, cleaner, and more efficient. As long as you take proper care of your gun, the minor amount of moisture in the air will not be a problem.
@SenorsClub probably the average 68/4500. most any airtank can do this. the regulator may have cracked when he dived or it could be one of the things in the description. they will become a missile if the air can be released all at once
Wow, that's crazy. Ok, looks like the Can player got hit in the head or wrist, he was down on the ground. The Dorrito player was hit in the ankle and went down. Hope they didn't get too seriously injured. I hope that never happens to me.
This won't be down to oil, that would happen as the tank is being filled and the air/oil being compressed. This looks more like the reg being out of the tank. And with the design of the regs in air tanks it's more than likely a CO2 tank
this is a very rare occurance. The guy jumped and landed on his tank, snapped the part that was holding it to the gun, and it flew off. No need to be concerned. You'd seriously have to crank the shit out of that thing for this to happen. I promise it will not happen to you.
The only oil that should be put into anything with air is the oil for pneumatic air tools, but I wouldn't even do that. Talk to your local field air smiths for any questions.
My friend's DP's tank blew off and destroyed his macro line. We weren't playing and were inside a crowded place. Luckily no one was hurt. Unluckily, we were inside of an enclosed area and it was loud as hell!
💡NOT at all a tank explosion😂 The ASA/Regulator came loose. An explosion is instant and will NOT continuously be expelling air from the end of the tank like this😂👍👍👍
@TheNoahtorious the date is on there somewhere it will look like 09A10 or something like that. meaning it was made in september 2010. or something to that extent. they need to be rehyroed every 5 years
See now I play Airsoft but I think that they're both equally matched. Airsoft gives you that feel that your in the military but paintball gives you one hell of a adrenaline rush. But did that tank break the other guys leg?
@JDSBCC Well in the midst of playing paintball, idk if you play or not but your adrenaline is going crazy and has most people know, when adrenaline is going you really dont feel anything but then as you slowly come back down to reality you realize you just got smacked in the legs with a HPA tank lol.
I think he was showing off a bit to when he dove. Not going to condemn sliding, for I do it just from instinct, but he was going a bit extreme with the eagle slide dive. I think the tank came off because it wasn't properly secured. p.s. Why you like getting shot? Adrenaline?
JUST DON'T PUT OIL IN THE PLACE YOU FILL UP YOUR AIR NEVER PUT OIL IN THE PLACE WHERE YOU FEED YOUR AIR IN DON'T (like this to inform players why they should not put oil in the feed nipple!)
That wasnt hpa was it?It made white smoke and when it hit the guys feat it started to frost(possible signs of co2 rapidly shooting out) around his feet and if it was HPA you would of seen flames and a huge explosion
Hahaha that reminds me. One time my sister had a knot in her back that was hurting her real bad. We played some paintball and I so happened to shoot her in that spot. She said it felt really good and actually wanted me to do it again. I don't mind getting shot but it gives me headaches if I get hit once in the head
