Painted Hills and Junk Trees (Eastern Oregon) 

An extraordinary view of the Painted Hills in Eastern Oregon, no snow on the ground but enough moisture to turn the hills an Earthy green. The frost in various parts plays amidst the shadows, greens, reds, yeah.
A junk tree is literally a tree on which you hang junk. I guess the junk should be found stuff, like antlers and gold mining pans, but bicycle parts will do in a pinch.
This was a junk tree on an "off the grid" home in the Oregon desert. Off the grid meaning solar to electric, no on-site water source or well, and septic. It's an interesting way to live. When you truck in your water, a flush toilet starts to look like a luxury.
Power to the pee pees. But back to the Painted Hills for one second longer -- in the winter this an awesomely beautiful place, but in the summer this place is cooked under a fiendish sun. Just saying. Bring extra water.
