The Colour aubergine, is simply the French name for Eggplant, in this case the common Purple variety, and it does have a deep blue base. That was a great choice for this piece - Gold and deep purple colours were used to epitomize the glamour and exuberance of the Deco era. Beautiful choice and thank you for sharing your art with us!
This is an incredible piece! I really didn't think that much of it originally. But it turned out delicious! That color made the piece! Super, super job!
Elegant and well detailed. Opulent coloring. Thank you. We should always do such a job as to be sorry it's going on. Rather than sorrowfully regretful that it went out wonkey or crapola.
Maybe it's just because I'm a painter but it's sooo satisfying to watch the paint instantly level out as you drag the brush through 😌 You did a beautiful job with this piece, the color is gorgeous! -Jenn
Looks beautiful! Since you were painting the entire thing and you were scuff sanding and priming, you didn’t need to sand the top down to the raw wood. That’s only needed to be down to the raw wood if you were going to stain it. It came out great though.
Thanks! It was necessary actually, because the finish was chipping and peeling off the top, so I needed to remove it in order for the paint to adhere properly to the piece. Otherwise, the paint would have just chipped off as well.
I am new to your channel tonight. I subscribed after watching your transform this beauty. She turned out Beautiful. I love the color! I will have to try this color soon. I was impressed by how well you explained things and took such detailed inventory of what needed to be fixed and then went about fixing it. You should have counted how many dings you filled on that dresser!! It was completely covered in Bondo (ok, not completely haha 😂). No one would EVER know what it looked like before. You did a fantastic job.
OK, First Off, its a CHEST. And Secondly, I prefer Lowe's to Home Depot. I've gotten some items there that haven't worked out very well, I'll put it that way. You did a WONDERFUL JOB on the Chest!!!!
Beautiful! I just found your channel. I plan to paint several pieces in the next few months. Redoing my bedroom. I noticed you didn't use a mister while painting. Just wondered?
Thank you! Happy to have you! I use a mister based on preference. If I don't feel like I need it, I won't use one. This particular container of paint was brand new so the consistency was just how I like it.
Tengo algo parecido en casa que uso para mi hijo y me gusto tu idea del color sobrr todo pero que le podria poner adicional si es para un niño de 7 años que se vea como algo divertido? Algun tip por ahi? Gracias por tu lindo trabajo!
Yes, absolutely! You could add a decor transfer or use a stencil to add a design! Kacha here on RU-vid has excellent tutorials for both. Thank you for watching!
It is lovely but it looks like mid century, modern rather than art deco. Can you explain? Why are you refer to it as art deco? I am new to all of this.
the lines of the dresser may look mcm, but it's the hardware that give sit away! this is classic art deco hardware and it is original to the piece. this type of wood veneer is also common with art deco.
