To be fair you should after 4 years have the understanding and foundation to actually utilize what he is saying. People just starting out, this is arcane to them in many ways. Now granted if you just bought his videos according to the comments, most likely you could have saved a lot of money. Art school is a scam.

Sonetimes time is of an essence. I agree with you Andrew, there is nothing wrong with using technology with your art. Back when I was in high-school I did the largest painting I had ever done and I didn't think I could complete it in a short period of one full semester ( 3 1/2 months) so I was hesitating until my art teachers showed me how to use a projector to trace my drawing onto the large canvas. With the help of technology it took me only a week to draw it which allowed me the rest of the semester to paint it. It was awesome and I loved the end result. Love this painting too. It's heavenly. Be blessed! :)

Even if he was using a projector, he is still painting with his own technique to achieve such results. Some ppl can use a projector, but not have the skill to paint as he does. But its obvious with how articulate he is, he wouldn't need a projector anyhow. Not that artists who use projectors are in any way hacks. I don't see anything wrong with using a projector anyhow. Who cares how somebody has come to complete a painting? The matter is, they did it using their hands, a paintbrush, and their painterly skill. Everyone has their own creative process and its honestly no petty art snobs business to critic. Let your work speak for itself and no one can say anything.

I have used several methods, including Projectors to get a outline. found that you will get many destortions you have to compensate for! never used a digital projector! How good is it? Colors by projector are very "washed" out, so you much enhance and add more intense color. It's alright to use aids! your talent is in the final rendition, in which Andrew is an expert! Aids give you more time for the details and enhancements! I've developed a " raised surface" texture, simulation to embossing, to give it more of a 3-D look! Amazing results, especially for rocks and trees! Still wish I was as good as Andrew Tischler! Learned something new already!!😊❤

Thumbs up for using a projector. I also now use one after 30 years of gridding large canvases to transfer the image. I also find it useful to project an image onto different sizes of canvas to find out on which size the image works best. Sometimes I am surprised to find that the image doesn't work at all and I have saved myself from starting a painting that was going to be trouble. On large canvases empty or dead areas become apparent that one doesn't notice on the much smaller reference image.

I'm amazed how some people can be so silly with their comments. What if artists or Andrew have used optics or any technology of some sort to start a painting. First is his idea and his design as he said, second you still need to know how to draw and how to paint to manipulate color and forms and shapes. It doesn't matter what you use, if you don't know how to paint or draw it will show. To get to a finish painting like Andrew's works you need skill my hater friend.
