Before you guys go raging in the comments because you havent watched the entire video WAIT!! LOL I recognize we messed up and thats why I explain not to use that specific paint and stuff, it didnt turn out how we expected, but now that we know we can re-do it oneday and make it way better! Also I know its not "me" or "my style" to do the time travel effects and stuff but I think its super cool and fun to play with so its nice to change it up sometime, hope you guys enjoyed! #StayCommitted ❤
Hey brotha, I do minor paint work on cars and stuff all the time. I'm pretty sure you did fine with the sanding, but you probably could've used a primer first and then the paint and I think that would've helped it come out more of an even color. Either way, love watching your vids man, keep it up!
I'm in Vancouver wa in U.S. haha. We get that rain too$ haha.but your vids are dope man. I never was on RU-vid watching channels untill I seen yours. Keep it up man your great!
You could totally use like a black or dark grey base coat to make some wicked designs in the paint with the blue overcoat. It'd probably be pretty sick. Just a thought for the future. #CommittedCrew
For sure. I definatly agree. Could totally like maybe sand the whole things down and then set stickers all over paint the whole thing black again then put the blue over it and end up with some sick lighter designs
If you ever revisit this, ive made the same mistake, theres a metalcast base coat that you have to buy which is like an aluminum coloured base that you can spray over the black. Then spray the blue metalcast and clear!
This legit my favorite channel on RU-vid because you real about what you do, you live what you’re doing and don’t care if you make mistakes because it how we all learn and you also aren’t fake like a bunch of the channels in this site
Robbie I seriously go over on data to watch your videos you’re seriously the best creator on RU-vid. And you deserve to not have hate comments you’re just so nice and you’re always positive. I love this channel
Robbie you’re an amazing person frfr I love your content I’m always watching your videos and it makes me wanna start a project car when I get older I appreciate you man stay committed 💯
This guy puts so much effort that goes unnoticed by the average viewer but none the less i really think he puts a substantial amount of effort into his content compared to other even bigger creators and for that i admire him
I have been watching since the start of the civic and I always enjoy your videos. I hope to someday build a project car like yours. Keep up the great work!
Brooo, got hooked on these videos a few weeks ago, and just caught all the way up. I bought that same paint and didn’t the same thing trying to paint something that was black.. as soon as I saw what you picked up and the title I knew where it was going! Love from Chicago brother!
I use to be scared to do thing to my car on my own but after following you channel an watching you guys... I feel like I can do it... you give me so many great ideas on what to do to my civic that doesn’t even cost a lot but will have it looking great so I want to say thank you #staycommited
till 13:25 i was like: where is the mistake, it looked so goooood wet. but it doesn't look that bad. you will get it better second time. #StayCommitted you're doing good...
Dear Robbie I wanna thank you for what u do I love ur vids I joined when u first got the civic and I’ve been a huge fan of ur build it inspired me to convert my gaming channel to a car channel I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse that I’m building up and as a highschooler I have a budget however so I can relate to ur vids I just bought my car so wish me luck.
Ur super right about the hate, there is so much hate in the car community but ur helping. Love each other or at least dont hate on each other. Everyone started somewhere.
It still looks good, Robbie! One thing I've learned over time. Is always double check paint before buying it. Lmao. But I think that metallic blue looks good with the way it turned out. It's a good offset of everything else.
Hey Robbie if you’re liking those anodized colours you can just use a lighter base coat like a white primer and then use the anodized paint on top and put coats until you’re happy with the colour. Obviously the more you put the darker it gets but then this way it’s more evenly coloured. I did that on my sisters car calipers and I found that out by taking some test tabs of metal with different base coats to better highlight the anodized paint.
A kind of cool idea for the engine bay is you could paint the inside of the hood in chalk paint/matte black then have fans sign it at meets with paint pens. Then clear coat over it.
Teleport was great lol me and my cuz used to do stuff like that back when windows movie maker was my playground in early 2000s lol as for the paint and yes I did watch the full vid, Metal cast anodized paints need the metallic silver base coat. It actually came out really well for not using it. LOVE the sticker idea!!
Am I the only subscriber who feels highly invested in the civic? I’ve seen it from the day it was purchased and now I just browse RU-vid while low key waiting for more Robbie Ferreira content.
Hey dude it's actually really good that you show us when you "pooch" things, because that's what happens to us all the time. So it makes you more relatable but also we get to learn from your mistakes. Maybe you could even do a video about how to "un-pooch" it haha. But seeing reality as opposed to the YTers who just magically do things perfect the first time helps me... well, it helps me stay committed to doing mods when they don't work out straight away :)
You should sand the left side all the way down then towards the center do a grey in the center and keep the black on the right side so you can have that fade in look. This will look so clean and sexy, and also cut down on you needing to sand all that down. But very nice great idea on the Color.
You did good the first time with the sticker. I would've suggested use a hobby knife and cut the outline of the sticker so when you peel, you don't drag off any paint that you want on the valve cover
Bro I think that looks sick. Like I'm going to do mine like that on purpose cause I love how it goes from lighter blue to the really dark blue almost black. Imagine if youd of be able to do a designe in the black and then put that blue shine over it. Omg that would look so killer
It has a bit of a sunburst effect and actually looks sick AF. Maybe do more of that fading on other features and you can tie it all together. It looks hella dope.
Honestly the darker royal blue looks hella better vs the electric blue before it dried. It Looks amazing, Don't change a thing! I would never guess it was rattle canned vs air brushed because it turned out so well in my opinion.
It looks homemade...i like it. You may want to consider grabbing another valve cover that way you aren't rushing the paint process. I like how the paint looks on the bare metal vs trying to cover the black.
Eyy rob the paint is fucking sick dude i never saw a car w that dip and i just love it and with the blue head lights its just perfect bro keep up the vids we all support you ❤️❤️
That paint is basically a tinted clearcoat. It's to be sprayed over polished or reflective stuff. I've actually got a video on my channel how I used it go make my corner lights amber. You need to go full polished and super light coats. Comes out good but easy to mess up. Great paint though. You can also spray it over a silver "ground" coat they refer to it as.
I really thought kris was the end of the video when you got the drawing. I had to check if there was more time left and shit 😂😂😂😂💀☠ your the best out here doing DIY car stuff. Keep it going, you give me motivation to work on my car 💪
