You re wonderful. I was able to follow along easily and you didn’t go too fast or too slow. And I’m old! That makes it even more impressive. Thanks for sharing your talents!
loved the techniques you used; and your explanation of how and why you used your tools. You made it simple yet obviously its effective. The effect looks almost real. Love, Love, love!
This is my absolute favorite way to do this. I’ve used this video multiple times and the yellow makes ALL the difference🎉Thank you (again, I’ve probably commented on this but🤷🏼♀️)😊
How lovely that you took a moment to acknowledge my comment! Very impressive, and quite classy! I will be trying some of your other tutorials very soon! You were great...seriously. It is so nice when the artist is very realistic, and communicates during the tutorial. Thanks again! :)
Yeah, the yellow just gives it that extra depth when you go over the other layers with your dry brush. It adds color dimension. I'm so glad that you gave this a try! I'd love to see your painting!
Wow i’m so amazed 😻! It’s so beautiful and real 😻 I’m not so good in painting but with your instruction it looks so easy. I will give it a go for sure 👌🏻 i will go purchase the tool tomorrow 😎 Thank you soo much 💘
Hahaha. That would be much quicker, for sure. However, I'm sure if you gave it a go, you'd be pleasantly surprised at how simple it is to do. Good luck with your project, either way you choose. 😘
The squared off brushes are called flat head brushes. I use graphite pencil on my canvases all the time. I use HB pencil and then I use a kneadable eraser to lighten the sketch. Acrylic paint hides my pencil sketch every time.
@@kanmf89 it has come in very handy for decorating my room and it's because of u Thank you. its very creative of u to use stiff bristle brushes to get that wood texture.
I'd probably do mostly gray with a dab of blue mixed in for that weathered look, and maybe use a base of regular brown instead of yellow. And for the number 3 color, just use the same thing I used for this one, but maybe add a little less brown & more black. But, go easy with the number 3 color, just use it to line your edges & accent the panels a little. Hope that helps. Good luck!
Unfortunately, there isn't a tutorial for that one. However, I used this exact technique for the "wood planks", and then just hand painted the word "Family" over it. Looking back, I wish I would have purchased a stencil or even a decal for the word lol. I'm not the best at painting words.
I've had mine for years. None of my brushes are fancy or anything, I'd assume it was in a pack of various brushes. I have several packs that contain a variety of styles. Some come with soft & hard. You could always find one that just has a minimal give when you comb the bristles, and cut them shorter. They are stiffer towards the neck.
To be honest, I'm not sure. I feel like you could still use the yellow, and just add less brown to your mix. Maybe even tone your yellow base down with some off-white mixed in.
Hi! I am all set to try this out 😁 one question though.. could this possibly be done on a black canvas? Wish me luck!! 🥰 Thank u for this awesome demo!!
To be honest, i have never used a black canvas, didn't even know it was made that way lol. I'd say give it a try, and if all else fails, acetone your canvas & start over. The beautiful thing about art is that it is subjective, and there's no right or wrong, ya know? I hope you have fun, and I hope that your project turns out amazing! If you've got an Instagram that you share your artwork, I'd love it if you tagged me so I could see it once it is finished. 🥰
What a great demonstration! I would love to see a video of your table as that's what I want to do but have been afraid to tackle it because of the taping. If you could send me the link, I would really appreciate it. My color choice is the grey driftwood look. What 3 colours do you suggest? My feeling is there should be some brown...maybe the base? Thank you so much!
I don't have a link to my table. We bought a build-it-yourself picnic table and I just stained it a blueish gray. I wanted it more "weathered", but it was my first time staining anything lol. I think I was supposed to wipe the stain off after applying, and I just kind of painted it on.. The table was $100, and you can find them at Lowe's & Home Depot. As far as the color of stain, just look at the options your store has & choose one that fits your style the best. We will be building our own bed platform some time within the next couple of months & I'm going to try my hand at staining again, maybe I will film the process (building & staining).
I'm not sure. It has to have stiff bristles in order for it to drag through the paint like that. I suppose you could probably try a hard bristled toothbrush or maybe even a wire brush?
Honestly, was that 100% necessary to comment? 🤣 I'm so sorry that I talked "too much" on a video that I posted to my OWN RU-vid channel! 🙄😑 No one forced you to watch (or listen). Would you rather it was just a completely silent video?! Some people's children...🤦♀️
