Fabric softener is made with tallow, also known as animal fat which is what I think gives it elasticity, so maybe it won’t crack because of that, perhaps someone else can comment on the tallow component, I’m just guessing.
Girl!!!!!! You gave me an idea and I want to THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!! My husband went to pick up a chair he bought from an individual and welp, the darned thang fell out😆😅 So I've been trying to figure out how to hide the "imperfection" all this time. I mixed up some paint to match the color and dabbed it on with a sponge brush and BOOM hid that ugly spot!!!! It's located at the top but kind of toward the back of the chair so it can't really be seen unless you walk up and look for it. You rock!!!
I have a chair with wood arms and legs. With this fabric. And I want to redo it. Can you tell me if you see the pattern through? Tell me how it’s wearing now that you have it done? It’s not a chair that will be used a lot. Is it crunchy? All the video’s I see are doing it on smooth fabric. Yours is almost the same as mine. Thank you so much.
@@jonispruit8877 yes, you can see the pattern through but maybe if you put more coats of paint, it won’t be as obvious if it’s gonna be heavily used maybe do some research on a coating to put on top of it to protect it a little more
@@mariemccormack8515 check out “Lone Fox) , he did this and loved it. As well as “DIY Danie”and hers turned out great as well! Good luck! I want to try this someday too. For any type of furniture makeovers, “Furniture Flipping Teacher” is amazing!
Ya,it did turn out Beautiful. However I have the same ? Does it crack when someone sits on it? Also when you sanded it & the fibers broke did it give it a suede texture?
what about no sanding then after last coat use the wax like annie sloan a d apply to set the paint and make it soft. she did it and said its wonderful????
@@user-io6vh6tl6v I’m not sure 🤔 I wouldn’t recommend this method on fur fabrics but if you have something small and you don’t care much about it, you can try and see what it does.
Nice! Hoping it held up without cracking or rubbing off on clothing over time. I heard the baby in the background during the second coat ☺️ Great job following your vision!
Susan, I painted my old loveseats which were a pink damask. No paint has ever rubbed off or cracked. They still look great after two years and we actually sit on them. 😉
Much more attractive when it was unpainted damask. The fabric was clean and had no worn spots. If you wanted to refresh it, simply do a light shampooing with fabric cleaner.
She said it was stained, so this was her way of salvaging it. The new Finnish looks brighter, fresher, updated, less fussy and more relevant to present style.
From other videos I’ve seen. It wall paint in satin finish. And Downey fabric softener. I’m going to try this on a chair I got from goodwill. The fabric is almost the same as hers. Wish me luck. Lol! If it’s a fail not a biggie. Hope this helps you.
Why use hard paint in fabric? Why not use a fabric dye? Also, you can use hydrogen peroxide and baking soda, drop off dish soap, and fragrance of your choice. This is thumbs down for me. Sorry 👎
