Great work. The background reminds me of a lily pond and the "Fine China" effect looks pretty cool. I like how you control the number of values to keep it neat. I'm struggling with that in my own work. Thanks for sharing your work process.

What is painting with oils like when compared to acrylics? Also I really like the background! I might try something similar at some point

Interesting technique. I was surprised you used bubble wrap.

Also if you do an oil underpainting DO NOT use acrylic over it. Oil never really drys completely and it will cause your acrylic to crack and peel.

really great work...just wondering what medium you are using? Gamblin solvent-free gel?

Did you only use white on top of the raw umber or did you mix some tones?
