Painting the Brakes on the 370z while they're still on the car!

Painting my Akebono brakes while they're still on my 370z for this video! It was a little a challenging but I think it turned out great!
Here's some of the supplies, I used 600grit sandpaper as well.

Red was better IMO. Also stickers side to side dont match, got one side on backwards. Also the VHT purple requires a chrome/ silver base coat. The purple paint is pretty much tinted clearcoat thats why it was getting darker with more coats.

You at right about the stickers I was in a rush, whoops. That makes sense VHT recommends their primer which I should have used instead of the one I found.

I don't get why people use primer when painting over the old paint. Primer is used for bare metals and surfaces that were not painted before. It is used to adhere on metal, wood or concrete. If you spray it on old paint it will be more detrimental.

Well the Dupli color metal cast paint is a 2 system product if your not painting bare metal . The base coat is not for adhesion purposes but for looks. The purple paint is transparent

Heads up to those interested in using the VHT anodised spray. They do a specific silver base/ undercoat spray which really makes the anodised colour pop. It makes one hell of difference to the finish. Suitable for straight to metal and high temp. Make sure to buy this!

Man you are amazing i really like the quality of your work and standards, ive been searching a purple paint to do my 2019 mustang gt ,found couple of wrap vinyl which seems low quality, now after seeing your video ill just do exactly like you , ❤❤❤❤❤
